This is my favorite salon, and I've tried many…read more I've been coming here for about 10 years. I bring my daughter to get her hair done too. I usually get a deep condition, curlers, sometimes a cut. Dreldy is the best. She owns the salon with her sister-in-law, Mira. Everyone is always so nice. I try to go during off hours because it can get busy. They've recently redone the place and it looks really nice. It is always clean. The parking on the street says 1 hour, but I've never gotten a ticket. There is also parking on the side street right around the corner that doesn't have a limit. I would definitely recommend, but maybe just call first, so you do not end up waiting too long.

For the owner to be acting like this shows what type of business this is. They will never be getting my money again. I originally found this place by just coming for a regular wash & set by one of the other girls. I've tried other places in the area, but I got the best wash & set here. Once I came in, I saw that they sold extensions, and I saw other clients getting maintenance with their tape in. I immediately asked for their Instagram, and saw that the owner did tape in installs and booked the appointment and here I am today. Even though I brought my own hair, I can tell by the extensions she had on display that it was quality hair, so she meant business! Elie Tanous salon is beautifully done, clean & sleek. Customer service is always great & the staff is friendly & professional. They use high quality color & Oribe products which will leave you caressing your hair for hours afterwards reveling in the softness & shininess even after bleaching! The best part is that it's open on Sundays! Seriously a true blessing in Bergen County! Especially during the holiday season, because who wants to sit in Rt 4 traffic for what seems like years on Saturdays?! Contrary to what some have said pricing is comparable. Again, they use high quality products & that makes a world of a difference, especially if you're coloring your hair. Maricel has been my stylist for over 10 years. Amazing does not begin to describe her. She can't be compared but should definitely be commended. A true master genius artist who uses hair as her canvas. I've gotten a ton of services over the years-from full color change, foil highlights, lowlights, cuts, & most recently balayage & she always creates masterpieces. A stylist may have coloring skills but Maricel has more, she has natural passion & that's something that can't be faked, learned or taught. Went here for the first time today and definitely will be going back! I had bleached and colored my hair by myself (I have zero professional experience) several times to the point where my hair was so uneven and my roots were atrocious. I decided to finally get it professionally done and I am so happy I did! I had Nani as my stylist and she is an absolute miracle worker. I wish we took before pictures because you wouldn't believe the mess she had to work with. She gave me a gorgeous shadow root and evened out my hair color while getting rid of the brassiness. She was so great, paying attention to small details and taking her time when fixing my color. She also fixed my choppy layers and my hair feels so healthy. Wow. WOW.... What an amazing experience, First of all the salon is absolutely gorgeous I love how clean and organized everything is. The decor is classy and elegant. Second the staff are all so friendly and helpful, also all the women are beautiful so it makes you feel like you will leave here looking just as beautiful (which you definitely do!) and last but certainly not least Elie is amazing!!!!! Elie and his team are great, honest, humble and So professional! I went for consultation due to previously getting my hair dye by somebody else, who did a horrible job. I came to Elie sad, scared, and frustrated. He made me feel secure and able to trust his hands so that he can fix that damage. I was easily able to trust him, He's job was AMAZING! Made me feel like a brand new person. The insecure person that walk in at 1 PM, left at 5 PM feeling confident because of the great job. I had 5 bridesmaid and a maid of honor, the energy in the salon was super positive, Elie and his crew were very friendly and fun! The bridesmaids finished a little before me so he can make sure he completely focus on me with the last touches. Honestly my hair looked better then I imagined. Every bride deserves to get treated like a queen before her big day, and Elie Tanous salon definitely achieved that for me. I've hopped around a few salons in the past 10 years, searching for a stylist that can work with my extensions to achieve a seamless look. About a year ago my mother introduced me to Roxanne, and my prayers were answered! Elie has it's own brand of keratin bonded extensions, Elta, which have been life changing. The quality is phenomenal, and the price is out of this world! It typically takes anywhere from 4-5 hours to install & style the extensions, but those hours fly by with Roxanne. She's such a delight to work with, and is great at conversation. She also has a great understanding of hair trends & how to execute the vision I have in my head. 10/10 would highly recommend read more

I walked in one day after walking out of another salon I had been going to for many, many years. (Long story.) Nataly Garzon, salon coordinator, could not have been friendlier or more competent when I walked in to check the place out. Lucky me, she matched me with Lysandra Bonilla. I have been happy with my color and cuts. The Riverside Mall location is ideal and the Elie Tanous Salon is always sparkling. Yes, I think it is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. My experience at Elie Tanous salon was amazing. I was looking to get hair extensions and have my roots blended; Elie made it happen while offering some great expert advice. What a transformation! I never had hair extensions before but these are light, easy to take care of and I got so many compliments already (it's only been a day). The salon uses high quality, 100% real hair for hair extensions and the bleach used to highlight my hair wasn't too harsh (so I wasn't itchy). The process was quick and very pleasing to watch happen. I'm so happy to finally find a salon without all the drama that you get with other stylists at other salons. Elie was very nice and pleasant. He took care of me from A-Z. I love coming to Eli Tanous Salon, I followed my stylist here after she left her former workplace. The customer service is amazing and everyone is so friendly and helpful. They really make you feel at home and serve snacks, wine, coffee and tea. I love coming to Elie Tanous salon, everyone is so nice and welcoming and the staff are all extremely talented and knowledgeable. I came here when my stylist joined Elie's team. I came to the Elie Tanous salon to be rescued since another local salon over processed my highlights and burned my ends. Elie used toner to get rid of the brassy color, put low lights in my hair and gave me the best haircut I ever had, getting rid of the burned ends. I started off with a Steam Treatment consisting of a detox mask, hydrating mask, scalp scrub/massage, and shampoo & conditioner. This was amazing. I have never experienced anything like this before. I was offered coffee, tea, and other items. I just had a coffee - even that was over the top served with frothed milk. Amina not only told me what I was doing wrong with my hair but she showed me how to improve it! She guided me through the entire process. She was honest and knowledgeable! She didn't try to sell me every product and hair tool or try to upsell any service! I loved the final result! I will definitely be back! 5/5

Severe chemical damage to my daughter's hair--zero accountability…read more My daughter went to Mavida Salon 93 South Main St. Lodi New Jersey July 6,2026 at 11am for hair color and FULL head of highlights. She booked the appointment with THE OWNER of the salon Cheryl whom i personally spoke with on the phone the night before. She assured me that she would be the one taking my daughter as a client and she did! She also said it's CASH ONLY. My daughter has shoulder length hair, the COLOR price was $50.00, FULL HIGHLIGHTS $150.00 the total was $200.00 with a 20% tip of $40.00. Making the Total of this appointment $240.00 that my daughter paid cash to Cheryl at the end of this incomplete service. Cheryl did not blow dry her hair, she was to busy (obviously overbooked) so my daughter left the salon with wet hair. Cheryl obviously knowing the damage that was done when she had her at the sink as she was shampooing the chemicals and taking the foils out of her hair. Unfortunately, the service resulted in severe chemical breakage, uneven color tone, and very sloppy and unprofessional partial highlights (we booked FULL highlights) and severe irritation on her scalp. Her hair is now extremely brittle and breaking due to the over, processing time by being left UNDER THE DRYER with the bleach and color chemicals on her scalp and hair as she worked on other clients. My daughter continuously asking Cheryl to check her color and highlights and Cheryl kept telling her she's not done yet without even checking a foil. The other workers and clients were observing what was going on, they witnessed the intentional act but said nothing. However, they did make eye gestures to my daughter as if they couldn't understand why Cheryl was not checking her hair. My daughter had chemicals on her head from 11:45 AM until 2 PM. When I called the owner Cheryl to discuss what happened that evening she was dismissive and refused to acknowledge HER error. We trusted this business with my daughter's hair, and instead, it was completely destroyed. A professional salon should know how to safely manage HAIR health. The lack of skill and care shown by the owner herself is completely unacceptable. This was supposed to be a pleasant day for my daughter as a gift from me to her, and it turned out to be a disaster and a very bad experience.
