I just got my hair done three days ago and I got a curl style for $40 and a pre-wash for $10. They used Hair Care WIU Natural Hair Sculptor and spray and the day after my hair started flaking. I worked two 12 hour shifts and was unable to go to the salon to get it fixed until my day off today. I just called the business to request a refund or restyle and the owner picked up the phone and immediately started yelling and cursing at me through the phone when I told her my hair started flaking. I tried to explain to her the products she used caused my hair to flake and she told me I am a liar and that other customers love their products and treated me like I am a scammer for trying to resolve the issue three days later. For the owner to be acting like this shows what type of business this is. They will never be getting my money again. Do Not go here if you don't want to be disrespected when something doesn't go their way. They don't care about hair they care about money and selling you their products/services. Now I have to fix my own hair or go to another salon. Also after we got off the phone I have received 6 missed called of harassment back to back from this business. Please beware! read more

When I was in Teaneck 3 years ago I found this hair salon and was very happy. Now...it still has good service, parking is fairly easy to fi d, ladies that work there are good. But WOW! the prices have jumped significantly. I don't have a mane of hair..little past my shoulders... just curly Latina hair. Just a wash, blow and Trim of ends $60!!! Not including tip!! They used charge $30 for the wash and roll alone... I never blow out. So if you "got it like t$hat" ..yes still good place. But in these times... I can't see it. I came here as a recommendation from a friend to get a keratin. When I walked in, I just got looks, no one at the counter and I told someone I had a appt for keratin and they said sit down. Then a women who appears to be the owner walked up and just looked at me. Then said, do you speak English, spanish, Italian and I said English, then went on to say why I was there. I thought that was a odd way to approach someone but went with it. Got my hair washed, then the women who washed my hair started my keratin treatment. Now, I have gone to a Dominican style salon before for keratin but this one was closer to my home so I'm giving it a try and what was different was that they put me in rollers and the weird stares from people, who I'm assuming are regulars. I haven't been in rollers in years. But I went with it. Then another women, who didn't speak English at all took me and started to blow out my hair. I'm a good sport but my head still hurts from the blow dryers heat on my scalp. Again.. she doesn't speak English but I made gestures that it hurt and she just said sorry. I went to pay and I didn't have enough cash for both ladies as a tip so in my head I thought, I'll give these ladies what I have, run to the bank and get more. I could of just put on my card but I figured, cash is better. As I paid, everyone in the salon were watching me and it was super awkward and a bit uncomfortable. I called them while out trying to find a bank to say I was coming back cause I left abruptly from the uncomfortableness but as I came back, I gave the first women her tip who was nice with a.smile but the second lady appeared annoyed that I came back with it. So with that, they did a great job but the customer service can definitely use a Jenny Jones makeover. read more

I can only speak for my hair type: relaxed, short pixy cut, if that's you.. do yourself a favor and skip this salon. I wanted a relaxer and trim, not too hard right? Relaxer.. was ok, but about 1/2 way through I wanted to cry with how rough she was. My head and ears were in pain for how hard she combed my scalp and combing over my ears with the metal fine tooth comb (??!!) ouch! Cut.. again, just ok.. but when I got home I realized it wasn't short enough in the back and sides. There was no blend/fade. Especially I got a 8 year old boys bowl cut. And right and left sides were so different. I called and went back, but even tho I made an appointment no one was there to "fix" the mess up. The owner found someone to fix it on the fly but alas, she made it worse. No way to fix it now. Just have to walk around like this until it grows out. Buyer beware. Everytime I have come here, I go home with some kind of hair damage. I have come for the very last time. I have 3B curls with bangs, all I went for was to get my hair blown out for my birthday, while I was washing my hair i believed i heard the woman say "conditioner?" and I said yes of course. What I didnt realize wad that she asked me if I wanted a deep conditioner, once I realized I thought nothing of it and if anything should make my hair look better. Once I washed my hair twice, my curls are looser and my bangs are pin-straight and will not curl. I am devastated over how my hair is right now. My hair was FLAME RED SUNKIST RED it was spotty patches of color. I was crying.6 processes later and a burnt scalp I finally gave up on this butcher.There is a putrid chemical smell in my hair that has soaked into my pillow. Do NOT let this salon trim your hair. Apparently, no one knows what a trim is here. I went for a wash and set with a trim. The front half of hair reached my collar bone and back half was BSL. Now, the front of my hair is to my chin and the back barely grazes my shoulders. This woman insisted she "didn't cut that much" but my hair is butchered. I needed a trim not a cut. I have a regular stylist who maintains my hair but she's been ill so haven't seen her. There is no way I needed 6 inches "trimmed." Terrible customer service and I was a regular there! I do look younger than I am and I think some people view me as a teen or young adult. However, Im not. The hairstylist kept pulling my hair and after a few tomes I asked her to stop. She got an attitude, started speaking in spanish and was rude for the rest of my blow out. I've tried 6 different hair salons since moving to nj from the bronx to find a place that can manage my type of hair. Needless to say, most did not put rollers in your hair which is required for my hair type. Some were even judgmental or constantly push you to buying or using specific costly products. Some didn't even care to connect with you. Finally, some you would have a wait time since they were either slow or it was a one woman operation. I want to say that I finally found a salon who does not only my hair beautifully but they of my 7 year old daughter. I have been to many salons in my past where my hair has been butchered, burned, stripped, and chopped off to something dreadful. I am so grateful that this place is the total opposite. Not only is the staff very accommodating, friendly, but they have the best hands. They treat all kinds of hair!! My daughter is afraid to get her hair done at the salon from a horrible past experience but when I first brought her hear she was scared and crying. The staff calmed her down and she trusted them to do her hair. After that she looks forward to going!! She says she loves the way they shampoo her hair. She actually does not put up a fight. Only one person knows how to do your hair without making it look huge. When going under the drier, they won't give you the covers for your ears unless you ask, which is difficult because they don't come back around until you're done. They did a very good job twice, then the two other times I went were a waste of money. read more

The hair washers are great - they leave my hair super clean and know how to do the rollers properly. They always make sure you are comfortable and that's important. The products they use is the "good" stuff - not the cheap stuff. My hair stylist Clarissa is the best!! But when she isn't there by chance - I do trust my hair with the other stylists there. I honestly don't let anyone else touch my hair but the folks here. And the best part ?? I am in and out in 1.5 hours!! Highly recommend this salon. read more

I've been coming here for a few months now and my hair hasn't been this healthy in YEARS! They were able to give me good advice on how to keep my hair healthy and shiny. I always get compliments on my hair after I get it done. I have no complaints. I usually come after work and they never rush me, they are very accommodating.They also have a loyalty program where you get a free wash/set after your 10th visit. I visited this salon for almost 4 to 6 months and they did an "OKay" service, but when it came to a perm - totally messed and screwed-up my hair and scalp. I'm still recovering from the shock of the whole ordeal. I've always requested particular "High-End" perm for my sensitive scalp and a few times before it appeared to be no problem. However, this next time I was in for the surprise of my life. It appeared they did a switch-n-bait with some greenish blue crap which not only smelt weird but was. I asked if they were putting the right stuff in my hair and they confirmed. This thing not only started to burn my scalp but repeatedly I asked for someone to attend to the sensitivity and it was clear that I wasn't a priority that day. I ended up with the front, side, back burns and BALD spots with clumps of hair falling out. The next few days and things clearly not getting better, I contacted the owner and the person that did my hair. To say it was quite dismissive and played down regarding the damage. Of course, the drama to get them to correct the issue wasn't worth it. They really couldn't the damage was done and the extra washing or conditioning on them did absolutely NOTHING to remedy the damage as a one-time thing. They say you get what you paid - I would say it's true, except I paid for quality and was given the worse. I never showed my face again and no, amount of coaxing would change that. If I would say one thing to you guys, it would be "Buyer Beware!" and really think about this one. I would highly recommend that you investigate before plunking down your money here. Look around for another more reputable establishment. Where money is not the most important thing, but good customer service, quality products and your time are. Very rude and bitter Dominican women. I went here 5 years ago for a trim but they cut off like 3-4 inches of my hair. Not only this but they originally charged me $40 but because my hair was long (down my back) they charged an extra $5. Later on my mother visits one day to this salon and the ladies started trash talking her in Spanish. I guess they didn't assume my mothers native language was Spanish lol. Super sweet checked for understanding, gave me advice on what she thought would work best and made sure my little girl felt comfortable. Price was reasonable $30 for a wash cut and blow for a 6 year old. My niece's hair is very easy to manage, it's pretty straight so it wasn't very challenging. Customer service sold us! If I could have given them a 6 I would have. Walk in, you WILL be seen, and my hair has held up even after a light drizzle and 3 plane rides. I tried to convince a couple of the stylists to come to Cali! I'd i lived anywhere close to NJ I would never go anywhere else and if I ever have a special occasion and need to get several heads done I will try to fly someone in to do our hair.
