Initially, I was quite satisfied with their professionalism and knowledge. However, over time I have experienced a lot of issues with a pair of Coach readers that were custom-made for me. I have asked them to replace a screw that continues to fall out, so they replaced the pair of glasses. This issue continues to happen even with the new pair. I am not satisfied at all. I should probably write this even lower than I did, however, my very first initial visit with them was superior. I truly hope that they get this issue rectified, or I will never return to them again. I have been a Dr. Swan patient for many years and have always have an annual checkup in December. I called about my appointment in October and was told I would not be seen until February. When I explained I have to go somewhere else - I was basically told "oh well". The office experience has been great; however, the lack of caring by the staff is disappointing. I am posting this review solely on the fact of being a new patient trying to schedule a first time appt. I called to make an appointment and the lady I spoke with was not very friendly at almost like I was a bother. I had some basic questions and a specific time of the week that I would only be able to come in. She practically gave me an appt a month away, only after bothering her some more did she offer to put me on the cancellation list. When she was getting my information she was very cold and did not make me feel comfortable as a new patient at all. I am sure that Dr. Swan is a great doctor and all but maybe she should have someone shop her office staff..... Unfortunately the woman I spoke with was my first impression of this office, and I will be canceling my appointment. I found another 5 star yelped office that was able to answer my questions and make me feel welcome vs a bother. read more

This review is not about Dr Swan, but instead about her office staff. Their policy of not allowing you to use your VSP insurance between different visits is not VSP policy (for my insurance). When I called back to get it fixed, they were cold and basically acted like I was a bother. They didn't once apologize for being wrong. I have been coming to this office for a few years now because I really did like Dr. Swan, but because of this incident and the way that it was handled, I will not be returning. Update: I received a call from Dr.Swan's office and they ordered me a 90 pack instead of a 30 pack free of charge for my inconvenience. I do appreciate that they tried to make it better, but I still will be finding another optometrist. I hope they learned from my situation and they will credit all VSP insurance users their full insurance allowance in the future. read more

I have been wearing glasses and getting eye exams for close to a half of a century. This was by far the best! Simple, easy, professional, quick and no hard sell. Excellent. My very favorite? The camera to compare which glasses look the best. Plus the cost did not break my bam\nk. read more

I came in to look at frames and order glasses. I didnt see Dr. Swan but im sure shes nice. There was a little bit of a mix up with my insurance so I was told I would be called when everything was worked out. Went in on a Saturday and its now a week later and haven't heard from them. Scheduled an appointment and didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to see the doctor. The exam was through and I felt she did not rush and really cared about getting to know me as her patient. They have a good range of glasses and sunglasses to purchase. read more

Hey 4 pair of new glasses later I love Dr Swanns optometrist. Customer service is top notch and all four pair are flawless. I just recently received a pair of John Varvatos titanium lightweight they are like not wearing glasses at all they are so light. Also have a pair of safety glasses used for work and shooting. Contrary to one poster, I had an easy time setting an appointment. No problem there. Staff, including Dr. Swan, were all friendly and warm. Efficient and thorough eye exam and excellent assistance in picking out frames I found to be aesthetically pleasing on myself, working within the insurance options I had with VSP. A+. read more

Dr. Swan saved my life. I had come down with some kind of conjunctivitis that wasn't improving with antibiotics. I was in immense pain and couldn't see. She was gracious enough to see us at 5pm on a Friday, diagnosed my condition as viral and gave me the appropriate prescription. It hasn't even been 24 hours and I feel 100% better. She was gentle, caring, very professional and well-informed. Her staff are very gracious and helpful and the office is clean and welcoming. I can't recommend her enough. I didn't realize how great Dr Swan is until I tried out an eye doc much closer to my home, I was underwhelmed and am back with The Swan Family even though it is a much further drive and requires traversing the dreaded Sunrise Blvd. At least there is Fabian's next door to have a cocktail to calm the driving nerves. read more

Can't seem to get this office to keep to THEIR scheduled appointments. Trying to get my daughter a new pair of glasses. They have just rescheduled her appointment for the 3rd time. They keep scheduling & then calling to reschedule due to them changing THEIR schedule, AGAIN! Latest reason is after my apointment being reschedule (due to THEIR changing apointments schedule) they now are going to be having a staff meeting!!! After several years going to Ophthalmologists to have my eyes examined, I was reluctant to go to a Optometrist. My insurance only covered Optometrists so I used Yelp and found Elizabeth Swan had favorable reviews. I have to admit that the examination was better and more complete then previous experiences. Her equipment is state-of-the-art and she explained the results of her findings and cautioned me on the fact I had early indications of Macular Degeneration. She gave me samples of a Bausch and Lomb product to hopefully slow down its progression. I was a little disturbed when I got my glasses that they were heavier then my old glasses. This may have been partly my fault because I ordered full width (executive) bifocals. That necessitated heavier lenses. When Dr. Swan found out I was unhappy she agreed to reorder thinner lenses with larger then standard bifocal. I agreed and just got my new glasses today. They fit perfectly and the bifocal works great. read more

This office is great!!! We have insurance but does not cover glasses, but they bend over backwards to work with out budget for glasses. Also my daughter has broken and lost her glasses and they were very accommodating in helping us get new ones for her. This place is amazing. My husband and I have been to Kaiser optometry, Stanton and other local places and never had someone take as much care of us as Dr Swans office did. They really care about you and your needs. They explain everything to you in detail and open late on some days to make it convenient for us that work 8 to 5. Glasses came pretty quickly and no problems. Dr swan had found something on my husbands eye and she sent it out to a specialist to have then research more and then called us as soon as she knew what was going on. Dr. Swan might be OK if you have regular insurance or are paying out of pocket but we took my daughter there while she was under the Healthy Families plan and we were treated like 3rd class trash. We had to wait every time someone walked in the door, everyone who come in after us got taken care of before we did, and no one that they stopped helping us for had an appointment. We ended up being there for over an hour but only got about 10 minutes with the doctor. Now that we have insurance again for the entire family we will be looking for another eye doctor. No way will they get a dime of our money, or insurance, after treating us that way. read more

I have lucked out, just moving to the area I went on the VSP website to find a Optometrists near my home. Coming from the bay I had my doctor but was not making the drive. Found Dr. Swan and was impressed when I received a text and an e-mail confirming my appointment. I went a little early figuring there would be paper work. There was and got to fill them out right away. ALL the girls that work there were very friendly and professional. They knew people's name and style of glasses, which I am impressed, they really take the time to get to know someone. Dr. Swan was awesome too very professional and friendly. Told me things about my eyes that my other doctor hadn't before. Took time to explain what was going on. I know my eyes are terrible but never felt like there was something wrong with me for having poor eye sight. (unfortunately my mom has poor eye sight too). Got fitted for glasses and contact. Made another appointment to have my eyes dilated. I am so relieved that I found Dr. Swan and feel so comfortable with her and her staff, makes moving to this area that much easier. read more

I picked Dr. Swan's office and was very happy with my choice! When I arrived for my appointment I was immediately greeted by 4 different employees, all of whom welcomed me to the office and helped me get checked in. The staff is very friendly and nice and the office is professional and clean. They even have the latest equipment there for checking the health of your eyes. Dr. Swan was also very professional and nice. She was clear in explaining instructions for the eye exam and was very thorough in going over the results. One of my main problems is getting headaches with the computer screen at work and I had measured how far away I am from my monitor. Dr. Swan simulated that in her office by sitting me in front of a computer and measuring out the distance so it would be the same as my office. Then she had me try on what would be my prescription so that I could see the difference. It was a great experience all around and I would highly recommend her. read more
