When I try to explain to people how much Elite Force Martial Arts, and in particular Shihan KC, mean to me it is hard to put it into words. When I try, the very first thing that always happens is that I get the biggest smile on my face. I always try to convey how the people there, the instructors and students alike, become like a second family to you. No matter how stressed out you may be on any particular day, when you enter the dojo, you forget about everything, totally and completely. You generally don't know anything about the people you're with on an almost daily basis, their sexual orientation, what they do for living, etc. All you are sure about is you really enjoy training with them, you feel a closeness, a bond, certainly something special. From the moment you walk into the dojo you are surrounded by positives. What you will never hear is any negativity, pessimism, or even the word "can't". Everything is about striving to always be better, to make your maximum become your minimum, and never the reverse. Shihan KC has a way of recruiting and training only the best instructors who are extremely proficient in what they do. Perhaps it seems that way because they try to model themselves after her. I honestly cannot think of another place that is this uplifting, empowering, inspirational, and such a great influence on your mind, body, and spirit. Around 4 years ago, I walked out of the doors of Elite Force Martial Arts as a martial arts student for the last time. I was a student for nearly 15 years, and an instructor for almost 5 years of them. My heart was heavy when I left because I grew up in this dojo, but I had to go away to college, and start a new chapter in my life. Elite Force, and in particular, Shihan KC, helped shape me into the man I am today. I went in a boy, and 14 and a half years and countless lessons later, I left a man. I even helped mold students of my own in the process. This establishment is first class, and the instructors always work in the best interest of the student. Although many of the students now may not remember me, I feel confident in the teachings that prevail, and I know that these students are gaining the same skills that I gained all those years ago. I loved and still love this school. We had our ups and downs, of course, but I was a child back then. I cannot recommend this school enough, now. Some people think that earning a Black Belt is a linear process, but they could not be more wrong. Much like the path to success, there are many trials you must go through, and with the staff and overall guidance of Shihan KC, I believe anyone can become the greatest version of themself. It is difficult to put into perspective the defining moment in your life that you knew exactly who you needed to be. I started my lessons at Elite Force Martial Arts at a very young age. I grew up in their system and learned all the moves and techniques. I showed up to all of my classes and learned lessons that would guide me in my life. It's funny thinking back now and realizing that everything I learned at this school would mold me into the man I am today. Awesome school with great foundation and positive people (staff and students). I've been at this location for almost 15 years and my wife and kids also attend. You get great training as well as personal sessions if you choose to sign up for them (never pushed on you but offered). This isn't a belt mill where you pay and you get your belt, you have to earn it just as everyone else. The mood is always positive and the staff is always trying to get themselves as well as the students to the next level. Much like anything else in life they'll get you to where you want but you have to want it as much as they do for you. Elite Force Martial Arts is a wonderful school. The students range from beginners to experienced martial artists. The instructors are kind and encouraging - creating an intense yet friendly environment. I took karate in high school and longed to return to it. I selected Elite Force because it was close to my house. I'm very happy with the outcome. Although I'm a new student, I can already feel my physical conditioning improving. When I first signed up, I was concerned that my previous health issues would limit my ability to keep up with the classes. I communicated this to the staff and was immediately comforted. I'm so happy I found EFMA some years ago and this past Saturday graduated receiving my black belt along side 42 other amazing graduates. I'm a black belt now!!!
