I want very much to say positive things about Elite GSD's and Cindy. But, I can't. I've gotten 4 dogs from her over the years. My first puppy was perfect. He just died at 12 years old. The remaining 3 were not good experiences. I just lost my Dozer last night. He suffered with gastrointestinal issues from the start. He was beautiful and smart but never really healthy. He was only 5 years old. Harlow, who has the same daddy as Dozer, had knee surgery before she was a year old. She's already arthritic and takes Rimadyl daily. Our newest puppy, who will be 2 next month came to us from Serbia, sick. Snotty nose and runny eyes. He had elbow surgery before he was a year old. His ears also didn't stand up. An attempt was made to "glue" them up but that was just a mess and painful for Diesel. All of them are beautiful with incredible temperaments. They were sold to us as showline dogs. The cost of over $4k per puppy along with the extensive medical bills would have bankrupted us if we didn't have pet insurance . Please! Purchase pet insurance! You will need it. I can support other comments about getting papers for these dogs. To this day, I still don't have the papers for my almost 2 year old Diesel. Cindy is constantly working on them or tracking them down. I gave up. I could go on and on, but I think my point is made. Also, to be clear, this is not a breeder - this is a broker. She is facilitating puppy sales in the US. I'm incredibly disappointed at the lack of integrity that has been shown and will not purchase another puppy here. Buyer beware. read more

Cindy is a con artist. She will sell you a dog for $$$ and even have you pay extra for breeding rights and then not give you the papers for the dog. She will have you sign a contract saying you will get the papers in a 6 month timeframe frame and never give them to you. She will give you the run around on getting them. She is a fraud! Our german shepherd we bought from elite german shepherd is now a year old, she will start her hip replacements on January 5th which will be really hard on her as well as her family. We have never gotten her registration papers and I believe that she never provides them to anyone. She also does not care that she sold us a gsd puppy that has issues. The thing is we will support this pup and take care of it for her life! Just make sure you never buy a pup from this woman. read more

I apologize for this long review but to anyone interested in purchasing a german shepherd dog or puppy from Elite German Shepherds, please read to the end. My experience with Elite German Shepherds and Cindy has been fraught with frustrations. I wish I could write a good review, but I can't. I heard about Elite German Shepherds from a couple of friends and thought Cindy's breeding facility was one of integrity. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I purchased a 3 year old GSD after seeing his video on her FB page. Cindy and I set an appointment to come to her facility on a specific date and time. I was an hour late due to traveling from Houston, and contacted Cindy to let her know. She said the later time worked better for her as she was still trying to find the dog's paperwork. Upon arrival at her place, Cindy had me sitting in my car waiting for her to open the electric gate for 30-40 minutes. This should have been my signal that Cindy's professionalism and customer service skills were low. When she finally arrived at the gate, I was escorted inside Cindy's store that is attached to her kennel. As soon as I stepped inside, the intense smell of urine almost knocked me over. Here was another red flag. Cindy finally brought out the dog and, when I saw him, I could not believe my eyes. Cindy said this dog was returned to her from a previous owner approximately 45 days prior. I was expecting him to be thin, but he was so malnourished he was emaciated! This dog had absolutely no muscle mass and was weak. How could Cindy allow this dog to be in such poor condition, present him to a prospective client, and expect to get full price? It was obvious this dog was suffering from serious neglect. He was so skinny I could feel every bone in his body. The dog looked more like a pitiful rescue than a breeder quality dog. At this point, I put on my dog rescue hat and was not going to leave this dog to suffer continued neglect. I continued with the transaction to purchase the dog as he needed a doctor and good nursing care. A few days prior Cindy said the dog would get a bath. I have purchased dogs from other breeders before and the bath is always part of the total cost of the dog. When Cindy was writing up the sales transaction she added $40 for the bath. She never mentioned before there would be a charge. Even though Cindy claims the dog got a bath the day before, I suspect it either didn't happen or it was just a brief shampoo and quick rinse. His fur was very dry and full of matted fur causing him to scratch a lot. Additionally, Cindy charged sales tax for the dog and bath. I have never heard of this before and not sure it is legal. As Cindy and I continued with the sale transaction I asked again about the dog's paperwork and microchip information. In all the previous conversations I had with Cindy, she was very evasive about these documents. She kept saying she was looking for them. She had an entire week to find them but, on the day of the transaction, she still did not have them. Cindy had every flimsy excuse possible as to why she could not find the paperwork. In the end, I went ahead and purchased the dog at the price she asked, not because of Cindy's integrity as a breeder and business person, but because the dog needed to get out of there. Took the dog to the vet clinic within 3 days of purchase and, not only is the dog emaciated, but he had a respiratory infection. I may never get his paperwork, but that is okay. This dog will now get the love, attention, nutrition, and medical care he deserves. It will probably take a few months of good nutrition and veterinary care to restore this dog to good health, but he is worth it. It's not his fault he fell into the hands of Elite German Shepherds. read more

Check with AKC this women is falsifying documents and has been for a long time. There is many legal rulings against her. She's moved around to different states doing this... I worked there a short time and the dogs had been sick and throwing up as well as pooping diarrhea. They're only fed and cleaned up after they're not given love and attention! These dogs are only a pay check to Cindy. All the videos and posts are from her knowledge of how to make things look to take your money. Some people are reporting diseases and cancers in these dogs they've purchased! And they're totally over bred. Don't take my word for it. Call the proper people and look into her! I love, love, love Elite German Shepherds. When I found EGS I was in a bad place. I just put my beloved German Shepherd to sleep and I was a mess. I found EGS's website and I fell in love with my dog. I called Cindy and inquired about Kalif and she was very supportive and knowledgeable. I told her I would call her back after I spoke to my husband about Kalif. When I called her back she told me he was sold. What I did not know was that my husband secretly purchased Kalif for me. I renamed him after his dad, Nino. Nino is absolutely beautiful. great temperament, great color and great body. I have three young kids and Nino is great with them. Cindy, I can't say enough good things about Cindy. I have had a GS my entire life and still learned a lot from Cindy. She really loves every puppy she has. Cindy is available for questions and concerns "All Day". When you leave her office you leave with GS knowledge 101, meal plan, vitamins, locating chip for your dog, training advice and she has a store on location where you can buy quality supplies. I also boarded my Nino at EGS when we went out of town. I knew my baby was in good hands - clean space, quality meals, plenty of water and exercise. Cindy also sent a few pictures of him to me while I was gone. I really appreciated that. While Nino was there he was also trained. He walks very well, does not pull, sits, stays.... If I could rate this establishment with zero stars I would. The owner Cindy is nasty and all about money. I purchased a very loving 3 month old puppy from her over two years ago for a price rag of over $5,000.00. Guaranteed the best and so on and so on. Well he is only two years old and i had his hips xrayed and he has hip dysplasia and arthritis. But let's start from the beginning. He was sick with stomach issues from day one. No matter what food I would feed him he would always be sick until finally months later I put him on a prescription diet. All she wanted to do is train my puppy for show instead of giving him obedience training. A puppy needs to behave in the real world before being able to perform tricks and look pretty for judges. Now fast forward 2 years, after reaching out to Cindy telling her about the vets findings and report she refused to do anything about this. Telling all BS and sob stories. Just admit that the line is horrible and there are hip problems. She refuses to pay for the surgery or any of the other medical conditions my dog had had in the past from stomach issues to skin issues from being in her establishment. Thousands and thousands of dollars worth of vet bills! I tried to be nice and talk to her civilly but that is not who she is. She is a con woman and my next action is to take her to court. My fiance and I were very excited to pick up our German Shepherd puppy we arrived at the kennel and waited on service for over 30 minutes after just communicating on the phone with her that we had drove 2 hours. There was smoking indoors where they kept the puppies also the dog we came to purchase had a defect that was not mentioned before trip out there. read more

I do not recommend purchasing a dog from this business. We purchased a dog from the owner, Cindy. We took her to our Vet for a wellness check and found out she was 15lb underweight, had mucus in her intestine and test results from Texas A & M Vet School lab showed small intestine disease. The dogs chip number did not match the chip number on our sales documentation. She sold us the wrong dog. She told us this dog had all her shots and just 5 months old. We purchased Donya but she gave us Ollie. We were unaware of the switch. The Vet said the dog was really closer to eight months old. This dog was scared of all other dogs indicating a lot of time in a cage. The dog was sick and couldn't gain weight. I spent near 800 dollars for diagnostic test, medication, procedures and Vet visits thinking this was my dog. Cindy the owner refused to take back the dog initially and would not reimburse me for the Vet expense for her dog Ollie. Later she agreed to take the dog and give us our money back as I started a legal process to take her to court. When we returned the dog we were told by an employee of hers that she worries the dogs are not treated well; sometimes forget to feed them etc. She stated she sometimes brings dogs from Elite GSD kennels home with her to feed and socialize. Cindy was rude and mean to us all through the process personally and via text messages. (We saved them all). I am very concerned that these beautiful dogs are being mistreated. I am not sure she is a breeder rather selling dogs she buys from Germany. I am in contact with the Vet/Breeder in Germany through a colleague of mine living there. I want them to know how these Dogs are treated. Cindy's Elite GSD web page is overwhelming making one think this is a top breeder. I saw no evidence of any of the medals, trophies' or other Awards for her dogs she shared on her web page. I believe she is fraudulent in her business transactions. My one star review is because there is nothing lower to rate her by. Do your due diligence before you buy. Sadly, I did not. read more

Yes, pay attention to the bad reviews. We have never been given any proof on our dog's pedigree or supposedly titled parents. Our basically puppy (25 months old) from this place got cancer, and we have been contacted by another buyer whose 3.5 year old male from there was just put down recently due to a similar cancer (and was from an entirely different litter). If people wanted a "free" dog, they would adopt. People are willing to pay for quality, and then are very disappointed and heartbroken when they did not get what they paid for and then the supposedly Elite breeder accuses them and lies. In our case, that was a cancer diagnosis and what seems to be falsified titles on the pedigree to be able to charge higher dollar on our pup. Interestingly to note too in our trying to figure out how much we'd been scammed by this breeder, according to the Animal Welfare Act of 2008, it is illegal to import puppies less than 6 months of age from another country for the purpose of resale, and she has been selling what she claims to be German imported puppies for years. Quick google search to read all about it. So this breeder is not ethical or honest, or even following the law. And the animals and uneducated owners suffer. Of course some people have had good experiences, and I'm happy their dogs are healthy and hopefully have the pedigrees they paid for. We were not so lucky and don't want anyone else to end up in our shoes. read more

My wife and I were traveling from San Antonio to Houston. We have been interested in purchasing a German Shepherd for some time now so I thought we would stop by Elite German Shepherds since we were driving by. I called to verify if they were open even though the website did state that they were. A lady picked up and I explained that we were interested in German Shepherds and asked if they were open. She said, " What do you need?". I was taken back by her response and repeated what I exactly said above. She said " You don't have an appointment and our dogs are $3000 to $4000". It basically sounded as if she did not want to waste her time with us. I told her the price wasn't a problem. She then told me that they have been open for 30 years for 7 days a week and the lady that was supposed to be there today would not be there because she gave her the day off to spend time with her kids. First off what does that have to do with anything....Second why are you treating a potential customer as if they are an inconvenience and a waste of time. From reading the other reviews I agree that she does not conduct herself professionally. Her initial response saying," What do you need?" is in no way shape or form the way you speak to a potential customer. I can't judge the quality of her animals but I can say that she does not conduct herself with customer service that is expected from a business that is charging $3,000 to $4,000 per animal. I purchased a male german shepherd from Elite German Shepherds in 2009. This dog is absolutely amazing. In 2013 I boarded my dog Delgado with Triple Crown Kennel in Hutto and on the way to pick him up they lost him. They were grooming him and left him unattended and he walked out the door. We contacted Cindy and she cried when I told he what happened. She loved our dog as much as we did. She knows and loves every dog she sells. 2 months later with half his body weight after getting hit by 2 cars he limped to our home. This dog would do anything to make it home to his family. Her dog was smart enough to travel 40 miles and cross 5 major highways and make it home. During the time he was gone we were given a female by Cindy. This dog was flown in from Germany and is amazing. When Delgado came home he was delighted to have a friend. I refuse to board my dogs with anyone else except Cindy at this point. She is the only one that loves our dogs as much as we do. They are more than dogs they are family. They posses every trait a german shepherd owner looks for. My children refer to Delgado as their hero. Life changing Experience! read more

This breeder is not what she seems. Beware. Deal with her only in writing if possible. Insist on receipts and checks. She will insist on cash only, but don't do it. We met an older dog she was claiming to be "rehoming". We put a deposit on the dog, and agreed on a date and time to pick up the dog. She would not let us take him the same day. We arrived at the scheduled time to pick up the dog with a police escort due to her threatening tone only to retrieve a check for our deposit back hanging outside her gate when she choose to terminate the sale. If you terminate the sale she will keep your deposit. She was insulting to try to get us frustrated and worked up to get us to terminate the sale so she could keep our deposit. Wisely we had everything in writing through text and email and were able to get our $2000 deposit back. The local authorities and local attorneys know her well. Beware. read more

I'm very unsatisfied with this very rude women's stock of GSD's. Yes they are very nice to look at, but beauty will never trump health. First off blood lines are questionable, as I never got much information on the parents of the puppy I received despite trying to look them up. Second, I never got AKC papers and were told they would be sent months ago from Cindy. Last. And the most daunting thing of all, we received our puppy covered in fleas, and an eye infection. Clearly this is a puppy mill with extremely over priced puppies and adults. I have tried contacting Cindy in regards to these matters but did not reciprocate any apology, just excuses.
