I cannot speak more highly of the people at Pets And Moore! I have two Belgian Malinois, one of which is a sweetheart who never met a stranger, and the second who is a rescue and can be a bit standoffish. She's very loving with me and my daughter, but less so with other people. Morgan's first boarding stay she willingly went in, but during her visit nipped someone. The staff continued to work with her, to socialize with her, now they are able to bathe her and clip her nails. Yesterday, we had a birthday party at the house... Approx 15 adults and maybe 10 kids or so. Morgan did amazing! I was worried and kept her on a leash/harness for a bit, but she did just fine without it. I let her meet people as they game in, she followed Quinn's lead and mostly sat near me in-between people; but she let people come in and out without growling or barking, and accepted treats with paw shakes. I have always been worried about having ppl over -- The first couple times it went poorly enough that I have since avoided it -- so this was nothing short of amazing. I am thankful Audra's team did not give up on us and have helped us get to this point. read more

My 3 Pekingese visit Pets and Moore when they need a Spa Day and grooming. My kids LOVE their groomers Even the wiggliest of the kids come home happy and handsome. When we travelled to Colorado, the pekes boarded for 7 nights. They came home happy and healthy, but were tired from all the socialization. My instructions on their meals was followed exactly as requested. It gave me peace of mind to know they were well supervised and cared for during my absence. It's always hard to find a place you are comfortable leaving your dogs overnight. I chose Pets & Moore because I love their set up which allows the dogs indoor/outdoor access 24/7. Also, knowing the owner lives on the property and was a vet tech for years helps incredibly. They have been in business for over 30 years now and everyone I speak to says they trust this facility over any other. To have this good of a rating in that amount of time tells me what I needed to know. I have boarded and groomed my own dogs here and I recommend them to my clients. Some of these 1* ratings seem to have holes in the stories which I can spot from owning my own business. I always recommend trying a day board before leaving your dog for the first time at any facility- the owner must also be a part of the equation in communication to ensure success for their pets. *You can also add pool time to your boarding which is a huge +! read more

Probably the best place to get your dog groomed and boarded! We've lived all over the United States and Europe and this is the only place we go! Andra is fabulous and taking care of our fur babies and she totally knows and understands dogs in general. Andra and her workers returned my dogs injured. Upon pick up they let us know Zeus "tore his nose" and failed to tell us when it happened. When we got home and bathed them we noticed tons of injuries. When confronted Andrea only got defensive instead of understanding and assessing the situation. We have videos of how she acted and how she blew it off. She verbally stated "we have dogs leave with torn noses and sore feet all the time". My dogs had flea bites, scratches, a torn nose, and blisters on their feet, they were also not given enough water. They had nothing but excuses and laughed in our face. It was my first time boarding our pup and awesome reviews led us to Pets & Moore. Andra, the owner, allowed me to come visit the premises before making a reservation. She was super nice and helpful. She suggested that we do a dayboard before the longer board to make sure our dog felt comfortable coming back. This was super helpful because our dog returned from the dayboard very excited! We just picked up our girl after being gone for 8 days and she was sad to leave!!!! We paid to have a grooming session done before her departure. They bathed her, trimmed her nails, and put a cute little bandana around her neck. We will definitely be using Pets & Moore in the future. The receptionist was nice, and I figured that we both had an understanding of the haircut length. Boy, was I wrong... I picked up her, and she looked like a leopard. There were patches of gray all around her coat, and the fur did not feel even. They even went as far as to half shave her tail! It looks like a bear tried to eat half of her tail. read more

I brought my 2 yorkies with me to San Marcos. I had found out last minute I couldn't take them with me to a personal place I was going to the next day. They open at 7am so I called and a very nice lady answered the phone. I let her know I needed to bring them for the day. She was super accommodating and said yes you can bring them. I was so happy because I was going to be in a bind and I was 4 hours from home. Everyone was super nice and took them right in on a Friday mind you and had a play day. I found Pets & Moore and at 5-stars, I read some reviews and decided to take my baby here for a night of boarding. Where others have left my dog smelling like urine upon pickup, Pets & Moore assured me she'd have overnight access to go out and potty. They gave her a bath and nail trim and when I picked her up, she seemed super happy and in good spirits about her stay. It was only for 2 days and when we picked him up he was crying and covered in pee and poop. After that, I knew I had to find a better place for him and research led me to Pets and Moore. What I loved about Pets and Moore was the fact that he had his very own run to go outside whenever he felt like it. In August we boarded him for 10 days while we were on vacation out of country. We were nervous because of his past experience but when we dropped him off, Andra answered all our questions and was so reassuring. Her and her staff were great. When we picked him up he was as happy as ever and he was just as clean as when we dropped him off, even after 10 days. Pets and Moore is excellent! My dog Prudence has severe stranger danger and does not like other dogs, so finding a place for her to stay has been a struggle in the past. At other kennels I didn't feel like she got the attention and care she needed - she would come back scared and sometimes hoarse from barking so much out of fear. Pets and Moore goes above and beyond to make sure your pet is comfortable. I spoke to several staff members before booking her stay and they were all extremely friendly and helpful. I was able to do a "test run" for boarding with her - we came in for daycare and I got a tour of the kennel. I was also able to see her inside of the run, and help get her comfortable with going between the indoor and outdoor areas. When she came for her stay, I was allowed to bring her food, bowls, treats, bedding, blankets, etc. to ensure that it was as close to home life as possible. I was able to call and check on her as often as I liked, and the staff had great feedback and updates! They even gave her a slow feeder to use during her stay because she was eating too fast with all the other dogs around. When we finally picked her up, she was excited to see us but didn't seem scared or overwhelmed at all. Pets and Moore is the only place that I feel comfortable boarding my dog - we will definitely be back in the future! I'm pretty disappointed that I came back from vacation to a badly hurt dog paw, but no explanation of how it happened. I was given vague stories of what "might have happened" to her. When the owner finally noticed my dog limping she said my dog was too anxious to lay down so she didn't get a good look at it. I was told I probably wouldn't need a vet and that the vet wouldn't be able to do much (the whole situation was downplayed) This makes me question the conditions of the play area they are in, as well as the condition of the kennel itself. It would have been nice to get a discount for the kennel fees, because of the conditions that allowed this to happen. I spent $800 dollars in veterinarian fees (surgery to stitch her paw, exam, X-rays) and my dog is so depressed. I'm extremely upset by the lack of explanation and getting no reimbursement. I hate to leave a bad review on this place because I've never had any issues with my dogs here in the past. The lack of communication, respect, and empathy from the staff is what's upsetting me the most. All I wanted was an apology or just something from them that expressed empathy towards my dogs pain and I never got one, and they made it seem like she hurt her paw before I dropped her off since they didn't see any blood. The owner handed off the phone to her assistant when I was asking about a refund, wasn't able to talk to me directly when I was asking questions. I felt unheard, and like they they truly could care less about doing the right thing, which would be to reimburse me for her kennel & vet fees. Actions speak louder than words, in this case I absolutely wouldn't trust any of my dogs under business owners that lack integrity to do the right thing. Take your dogs to people that care not only for dogs, but people too. It's called empathy and integrity and these folks seem to lack that. read more

This is a top notch place. Bob loves to board with them because he's always greeted with a loving smile. But, today I found out they were also good at grooming! I wasn't ready to see his signature long hair cut off, but I had to do something. Bob is a full blood English Shepherd and the burrs love his fur. The burrs were creating mats in his fur, which she was able to get out. Bob came home calm and happy. I suggest brushing your dog FOR sure before you go because that made it a little more pricey, but after seeing him it was worth every penny. read more

I needed a place to keep my dog for the day since we had pest control spraying our house and the back yard was a mud pit after all the rain. My vet was booked because of spring break so after some googling I decided to give P&M a try and boy am I glad I did! The prices are more than reasonable and the staff is just exceptional. Watching the staff with the customers and their furry loved ones left me feeling completely at ease leaving my dog. I came back nearly 8hrs later to an extremely happy squeaky clean pooch, she has never looked this excited after a trip to the dog park! She is a 5yr old dobie who has the energy level of a little pup but as soon as we got in the car she zonked right out which I have never seen her do..ever. Tiring this dog out is usually near impossible. When we got home she ate some food and plopped back down in her arm chair with the cat and it was back to puppy dreams. I'm glad I found this place. I love my vet but as far as boarding and bathing goes they don't hold a candle to P&M. I'll leave this job to the professionals! read more

I don't have a single negative thing to say about Pets & Moore. I adopted a 3 year old dog who had previously been a stray, so I wanted her to go through basic training. She also had some behavioral issues- dog aggression and aggression/fear towards men- that I was especially concerned about. I was beyond excited when I talked to Meghan and she told me that she could help me with basic training as well as training with the behavioral issues! I was a little nervous the first time I went for training as my dog hadn't seemed to trust anyone besides myself yet, but she loved Meghan from the moment they met (as did I). Meghan was amazing when it came to showing me certain commands, explaining the logic/thought process from a dog's point of view in situations, and easing my worries about Josie's (my doggo) aggression. Within a few short weeks, I felt like I had a grasp on every issue I initially wanted to conquer. Meghan is incredibly sweet, VERY knowledgeable when it comes to dogs and training, and her passion for animals radiates from her. I haven't had as many interactions with Andra, but she's always been just as sweet. I initially looked into Pets & Moore after a bunch of my coworkers (I work at an animal hospital in town) recommended them to me, as we recommend them to our clients on a daily basis. I haven't personally had my dogs groomed here, but I know the groomer is extremely experienced and I've never heard a single bad thing about a grooming experience here. They just added more indoor boarding and I would highly recommend Pets & Moore to anyone looking for a place to board their pets (as well as grooming and training)! One of my favorite parts about my time at Pets & Moore was getting to see the dock diving pool, and hear about all the fun stories regarding dock diving and barn hunt! We boarded our dog for 18 days. We have a dog who is shy and nervous with strangers. They were WONDERFUL with him. They sent 2 videos in the time we were gone with a description of how he was doing. When we returned, some of his "issues" were all gone!!! Yea! The people there all knew him and obviously cared about him. We will take him back there again - even though it is a drive for us, it is WELL worth it. We also would highly recommend Megan for training. We have had a couple of sessions with her and can say enough good about her. She gave us practical instruction on how to work with our dog, and we saw improvement. I love this place. We only board, no grooming. My dog isn't a good judge, because she loves every person and every thing and every place she's ever been.. But the fact that she's tired when she comes home means these guys actually play with her. My dog is a working/hunting/bird dog, and she needs to be active ALL DAY. We boarded our dog Blitz at Pets and Moore for about a week over Christmas, while visiting family in San Marcos. We are so happy with the quality of service we received. All of the staff were knowledgable, friendly and professional. Blitz had her own indoor/outdoor run which connected to a larger play area where each dog had several turns per day to run around. I have been bringing my dog Molly to Pets & Moore since I moved to San Marcos a year ago and it has been a wonderful experience every time. They offer grooming and boarding and I have used both services. The staff is very friendly. They obviously love animals and it shows because my dog is always happy to see them and is never upset when I pick her up. She has never acted this way with any other groomer I have taken her to - she was always very scared in the past. They have large dog runs for the dogs to be inside and outside while waiting to be groomed so they aren't stuck in small cages. The groomers are also very quick and my dog is always ready to be picked up around 1 or 2 if I drop her off at 8 in the morning. My dog is always groomed just the way I ask her to be and looks great each time. I have boarded her there once as well and it went just as great. I would highly recommend Pets & Moore to anyone looking for a groomer and/or place to board their pet. read more
