The tech gave me the standard response to blow a customer off - "my investigation leads me to believe its a driver issue, but HP is bad about... blah, blah, blah. One of the issues was clearly a hardware related issue it was limited to 1 key on the keyboard and it was intermittent, but would get worse with use. Not a driver issue. Within 2 days of calling the shop called me and told me it was ready and that it was a driver issue. When I picked it up and said, "The keyboard was a driver issue or did you clean it and find a dead bug in there?" He mumbled something about it working now. The cost was fair, even it was a driver and not a hardcore tear down and rebuild, but the one issue that may have been a driver issue (touch pad quits functioning ) failed again within the 1st hr of use and the 3rd issue was likely not looked into (Laptop camera cant be found by apps), so it doesnt work. All three issues were documented and printed out for the tech when I left the machine. Verdict - The charge was not outrageous, so if any one of the things had been fixed I would not have written this review. But nothing was fixed so here it is. Administratively, communication was poor, ticket documentation is very poor. I emailed the business and did not receive a response. The shop space did not inspire confidence either - I know tech people can be "messy desk motivated" but as a customer I would prefer to see the customer facing business squared away and locked down. If you have serious problem wiht your computer hardware, I would think twice before committng here. If your budget sensitive and the issue is "easy" then this might be a good choice. PS, I was ready to buy replacement hardware for the keyboard which would have run the revenue higher but like I said I dont think it was looked at.

The rep suggested we have it repaired before trade-in so I'd get a better credit for the new device. We filed an insurance claim at T-Mobile and it kicked me out an email to make an appointment with CPR for a same-day screen replacement. I set my appointment for the next day and showed up a little early since I had no idea what to expect. The lady that checked me in was very nice and happily answered what felt like the most basic (dumb) questions to put my mind at ease. They even alerted me that my battery is in pretty poor shape, but since I'm just trying to trade it in I opted to leave it alone. I was able to swing back two hours later for my device and haven't had any problems with the new screen. Like others have said, I hope I wouldn't need to use their services again, but glad to know they're an option!

The owner contacted me and was extremely helpful and willing to resolve the issue, he set up an…read moreappointment for me to have someone look at the frame of my phone and either fix it (for real) or give me a full refund so i can send to insurance. The full fix was going to take days cause they'd have to gut the whole phone and on the phone this was never mentioned. I was told that because i also had a battery put in (which was aftermarket and had information smudged off of it in two places i noticed) that i would only be refunded $140 of $180. Sure you put in a new battery, but i cant really use it..i'm sending it to insurance (Which will cost me $200 deductible ). so i can have i truly fixed phone. I wish i could give a better review, but they weren't going to help me until i gave a negative one (initial offer was only %15 another 139 charge). And i'm still out $40 and right back where i was before. The initial person looking at my phone apparently thought the bend in the phone wouldn't effect another screen as it had the last. I brought it back to them to get the bottom screen fixed, and after I got it, while it senses taps, the touches are never in the right place, even with me calibrating it multiple times. Absolute waste of money. Their student discount, is abysmal, and the service is just so bad. More things are broken getting my device back, than what was originally needing to be repaired. I recommend looking at another repair shop and staying away from this one as much as possible. Spend your money on a better service, and for those who actually deserve it.
