As far as nail salons go, Elite Nails is pretty great. The employees are friendly, chatting if you want and staying quiet if you'd rather sit and relax. I tend to enjoy sitting quietly with my thoughts, but it's never been awkward. I've visited several times, getting a few gel manicures and several pedicures. I've consistently had quality services each time; while the salon typically is busy between 3 and 6pm, I've never waited longer than 15 minutes for a nail tech. In my opinion, the prices are very reasonable. A basic pedicure is just under $30, which I feel is quite doable, especially considering the quality. Rude people, minimal service.. you already know their talking shi about you making faces. Weird. They could not find it in them to explain if they even offered the service we were asking for (it's on their menu but they said they don't have that polish) very unclear about what price we were going to be paying but we made sure to push to get the actual service price of what we asked for. We did pedicures and the foot bath is fine except how awkward it is cause their laughing at you NOT with you.. but after they paint your nails you're completely on your own they did not tell us when or if we were able to leave until we sat their for 20 minutes- finally paid, left- all of our nails smudged we went back and they were like oh you weren't supposed to leave NEWS TO ME ! We paid already that was the only time any of you have acknowledged us in the past now 40 minutes and they FINALLY tell us "oh wait 20 minutes under the light" right right. been faithfully going here for a couple years. I always go to Vivian or Ryan. Usually Vivian is my go to and Ryan is who my daughter goes to. They always go above and beyond to make sure we get exactly what we want even if it means starting over the design 26748 times. They're so sweet and efficient as well. read more

I wanted to get a little pampering while I was in town visiting my son at college in Richmond. I got quite the opposite! I made an appointment online for a full set for myself and a pedicure for my son. Scheduled them so my appointment would take a little longer would start first and we could get finished at the same time. When we got there, nobody even looked up or greeted us. I had to get somebody's attention. They started us in the opposite times so our appointment time didn't mean anything. They never offered him to turn on the chair massage, which was missing the remote (and every other chair was open). They never offered to paint his nails..sometimes he will get clear, and the pedicure was lack luster. The same lady who did his pedicure almost yelled at me about saying manicure when I told her what I was there for. I don't normally get my nails done so I might have assumed they massaged your hands when you get nails. That's the previous experiences I have had at home. The gentleman who did my nails, told me I didn't want them long (didn't ask). My nails are NOT the same length on both hands. It's noticeable. They asked me to pick another color than the one I picked at the beginning, they told me to pick something else just before they painted bc the color I wanted was out, although it was sitting on the desk the whole time. That was about the only 2 things he said the whole time until it was time to pay. I told him.i had a card, and his reply was "whatever". I considered not tipping because he never said I couldn't add a tip to the card receipt. Good thing I had some cash and have a good heart. Made me miss the courteous nail salon I have back home that ask how my mom and kids are and hand me water while they turn on my chair and adjust the water to my liken. I've had pedicures all over the US. This is BY FAR the worst pedicure I've ever had. The guy vacuumed THE WHOLE TIME and they yelled at each other and laughed the whole time. It lasted ALMOST 20 minutes and cost $32 each. She didn't even massage my feet. The WORST pedicure I've ever experienced. Should have known as we were the only ones in there. I have tried and tried to give this salon the benefit of the doubt. I've even given them favorable reviews before (at their request)....but honestly today was the end for me. I did not have an appointment (and neither did about 4 people behind me) but I had my pedicure completed without to much wait ti... then I was told that the gentleman who did my toes could not do my nails... and I was sat to the side and asked to wait for a minute. I waited and waited. finally the manager (who is supposed to make sure you're satisfied before you leave) started a simple manicure. not only did he cut my cuticle and didn't even file each of my nails (they were left jagged and uneven), he put the polish on and it was terrible. I asked several times about the color not matching my toes but he just kept going. When he was done I brought it to his attention and he acted like I was the unreasonable one. He just slid back over to the next chair and started to do her nails. Then another lady came over and started telling me essentially it wasn't their fault because it was a manufacturing air which I understand but that isn't my fault either. She then began to tell me how other people had waited over an hour to get their nails done but I had been there for almost 2 hours. I watched at least four people without an appointment who came in after me get their service completed before me. Before I finally decided just to say forget it and I would just pay for my toenails I was told not to talk bad about the gentleman who had done my pedicure only because I mentioned that he could've done my nails and I would've already been finished. This was the most frustrating experience, terrible customer service, poor craftsmanship, and I was actually insulted and scolded before I left as an unhappy and very miss treated customer. I would not suggest anyone go to the salon. They are very poor organization and shuffle people around . Then you get shuffled through and rushed. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!! We walked in and waited for minutes without anyone acknowledging us and just plainly ignored me and my mom in law, pretending they didn't see or notice us! Minutes after, the lady asked us to sit down and just wait. One of the technicians walked by from where we were sitting so I politely asked if we could just pick the nail polish we want. So as we were choosing, one of the male techs told us to follow him so we can get served. The guy said ok, but ended up filing it into squares only. So me and my Mom told him AGAIN what nail shape she wants, so the guy rudely said I KNOW, and kept on filing till he ended up making the nails round and short.(Mom told him how long she likes them too, it felt sooo awkward to say something more because he just kept doing the opposite of what we asked,just shrugged our shoulders). So then one of the ladies there brought another nail polish that we assumed would be of same color of the polish mom picked up, turned out it wasn't so Mom told the tech that it's not the same color so he took the nail samples and threw them on mom's lap and we were just stupefied! I love this little salon! I have been in here a handful of times for manicures and I have never been disappointed. I started off going in here for their shellac manicures. They are fantastic. I'm so addicted to the instant set and dry of shellac that I just can't help myself. Lately, I've been going in for an odd combo -- I have acrylic nails but I still get the shellac polish. No one even blinked an eye at the strange request and I have been super pleased by the results. I had my last fill/polish done two weeks ago and it still looks perfect. When I went in, I was WAY past due (due to a surgery) and the nail tech did a superb job of fixing my broken nails and making everything look awesome again. Their prices are reasonable. My fill/shellac combo is about $30 - a little more than a regular fill, but totally worth it for me. Another place I stopped at in Richmond one time told me it was going to cost me upwards of $60. Nope. The Richmond mall is kind of in a sad state - there aren't very many stores left. This little nail place can get busy. I had to wait almost 40 minutes last time. But, it's definitely worth it. I brought my little sister here as a special thing, and I was pretty disappointed. Our nails look great, but we were rushed from the second we got there and it ruined all of the fun. I never post reviews, but please don't come here. Very rushed service -- the nail tech jerked my hands around and smudged the paint but didn't bother to fix them and was just rude in general. These were pretty big smudges, showing the natural nail color underneath, but she just ignored them and painted top coat over it anyway. A few days after, my acrylic gel started to peel off, which has never happened to me before. You pay a cheap price but you definitely get what you pay for here. read more

I came in today to relax. I am very close to giving birth to my son and needed some "me" time. My pedicurist showed zero respect to me as a pregnant woman or human in general. He ripped my big toe apart. Instead of cutting at cuticles and cleaning, he PULLED them off resulting in bleeding and pain. And worked on my feet, including scraping them, before even letting me soak. It didn't feel hygienic at all. I also had to hold my feet in the air for him to work on them--VERY difficult for a pregnant woman who is already in pain. I feel like I was just being rushed out. I literally had tears in my eyes and asked him to please be gentle, and he acted justified for what he was doing the entire time. I've gotten regular pedicures at other salons and know how it works. THIS is not how the experience should go--especially for $28 plus tip. I'm not angry, just very disturbed by this behavior and disappointed. Never again. Nope. read more

I was disappointed with the manicure and pedicure services that I received at Elite Nails. The Tech was very sloppy. Her french tip polish lines were crooked along with jagged. She did not properly cover my nails with white polish nor top coat (I requested pink top coat but she used clear), left white polish on areas of my nails where it did not belong, and left it on my skin, including places that were not even near my nails. My nails were also left lopsided and various lengths. When I pointed those things out to her she simply said "ok" but did not fix them. I assume that either she could not understand English, or else she simply did not care that I was displeased with the results. Furthermore, she did not give me a full manicure, yet charged me for it. At the beginning of my so-called manicure, she started by filing the top of my natural fingernail with the rough side of the file without first removing my old polish. One should NEVER file the top of your natural nail with a course file or manicure drill as that causes damage to your nail and nail bed (I know this from previously being a Licensed Nail Tech). Thankfully, she quickly ceased doing that and proceeded by removing my old polish. Unfortunately, she only removed my old polish, slightly filed the tips of my nails, had me wash my hands, and then applied new polish. She did not soak my nails, clean underneath them, or trim my cuticles as well as the dead skin around my nails! In addition, she did not apply hand lotion, do a hand massage, neither apply oil to my cuticles when she was done. She seemed offended that I pointed out her mistakes and asked her to fix them; thus, she became rushed to get rid of me. Instead of pro-actively resolving these issues, she sent me to the nail dryer, along with left my hands and cuticles looking extremely rough from dryness. On the bright side, I thoroughly enjoyed the massage chair; it was awesome! read more

I was in Richmond , Indiana on a business trip with my husband and got my nails done at this salon. It was clean. The gentleman that did my nails was pleasant. The price was less than I normally pay at my home salon. My one complaint is that it wasn't all that relaxing as the man that did my nails kept cutting my skin with the nail file and I have all these tiny little cuts around my nails. I pulled my hand back a time or two and told him it hurt. I didn't realize just how many little cuts I had until he put polish remover on my nails right before the polish. I haven't found a nail salon that I frequent regularly so I tend to try the different ones in and surrounding Richmond. I decided to try out elite nails because I had heard good things. No one greeted me when I walked in and there were people ahead of me so I already knew that I had to wait. The process wasn't the gentlest I have ever had but it wasn't terrible. However, that same night, one of my nails broke off. throughout the next three days after the manicure, 5 of my nails broke off and the polish cracked and looked absolutely terrible. Came in town looking for quick service at the mall nail shops! Never mind!! First rude Tech told me not to look in the front cabinet for anything! Excuse me!! Oh, those are only for sale...ok well maybe I will purchase it if I like the color and you don't have it on the wall. I was asking him to let me check out a particular color and he just walked away. Should have left then.....went back to the wall and picked out a second favorite, took it back to my seat so I could ask if this bottle could be used alone or if I needed to pick a base color since it was all gold flakes! This other fool comes over to my seat and snatches it out the seat and said, "it goes over here" very rudely and put it on a Tech station!
