I had a good experience at Elite Nails. After a terrible interaction at a salon nearby with better reviews, I hopped over here to see if they could fit me in. The place was very busy with numerous technicians on staff. I really needed a pedicure before my evening plans on a Saturday, and they fit me in right away. Lots of colors of polish to choose from. My actual technician was lovely - she was thorough and appropriately chatty. My nails still look great three weeks later. The only downsides I'd note - it's not the most organized, clean space I've seen. Think more old school kinds of salons designed for high-volume. If you want that more swanky spa experience, this isn't really the vibe. But for a solid mani/pedi at a decent price, I'd recommend it. read more

First experience here! We made an appointment ahead of time. We had to wash our hand when we entered and wear masks. The staff was really nice. They made sure the water was okay, the chairs we sat in worked (had problems at other places with them not working). We actually decided to get the spa pedicure which was $50, standard was $30. I Went to get a pedicure and asked if someone had time to paint my 5 year olds toenails. The technician replied, "we don't have anyone available." Heartbroken, as it was her FIRST time ever getting to go get her nails done. My daughter sat patiently while I got a pedicure. When I was done the lady asked me if I wanted a manicure and wax. To which I replied, "I didn't think you had anyone available." They ended up sending someone over to paint her nails. I had to hold my daughter's feet up for the technician to reach them, I helped prop her back up because nobody offered her a pillow so she could be slightly comfortable. Thankfully my 5 year old didn't understand how unprofessional and rude they were being. While I don't expect 5 star service at Nail Salons, this was absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a nail salon in the past 20 years. Overall I had a good experience! The nail salon is very clean and you can tell that they spend some extra money to stay current and keep things nice. I got a spa pedicure, acrylic nail removal, and regular manicure with polish.. The pedicure was great, but I couldn't really relax because they brought a bowl in a basket to put in my lap so I could soak my nails off. I get that it takes time, but we were not in a hurry, nor did we say anything about needing to rush the process. Also...if my hands are stuck in a bowl of liquid for an hour...I expect them to be more helpful(like turning on the massage and rolling my pants back down for me, which is what I have experienced at other salons even when my hands are free). The girl that did my pedicure forgot to push back the cuticles on one foot, and when I said something she told me I was wrong and not to worry because my toenails would look good. I pay attention when I'm getting a service because I know this stuff happens all the time-I want it to be done right and if I have to speak up, the only response should be "yes ma'am". She did it, but the attitude was definitely not necessary. After that, it was obvious that her tone with me was unpleasant for the rest of my visit. The other thing I didn't like was that she "cleaned" off the foot exfoliator(which had a lot of skin in it) in the water that my feet were soaking in. I kindly asked her to use a towel instead and she argued with me once again. I would have given a 4-star if it weren't for my experience with this nail technician. I asked him do I need to pick a color and he said no, I will bring it to you...no problem. He never greeted and barely spoke to me. Only asked me which color from the samples do I want. My service included acrylic nails and pedicure. I requested a certain length in which he did, I asked him was he going to clean up my cuticles and he said they normally don't with acrylics???? I don't know the procedure because this was my first time getting acrylics, he obliged, but poorly done. I also requested a special design but while deciding between silver or gold, he told me I need to make up my mind because he has other customers. He provided the worst pedicure I've ever experienced. The only time he was kind or spoke in a kind manner was when he asked me was I paying in cash or credit. Total cost for service: $97!! Problem is I got my nails and feet done before the the other people had even gotten out their chair. I asked were there different types of pedicures and he looked over at "the other people" and noticed that I saw that they were getting Extra treatment so then he said "oh do want hot stones too"? 2nd pedicure ever and it was 10x better than my other one, thanks to Elite Nails! I'm not usually one for pedicures, but my wife on occasion gets one and I'll tag along with her. They were extra when it came to attention to detail. Not only with the maintenance, but the leg massage as well! They spend a good while massaging, and it was super relaxing. The staff is friendly enough to talk to you, but perceptive enough to know when you want to sit back and just relax. My wife and I were seated in the massage chairs with water within 3 minutes of our arrival, and the pedicures started within 15 minutes of our arrival. I highly recommend this place! Basic dip mani was well done. The young lady who did my nails was very attentive to doing a great job. I asked that my dip be thin, and it was executed very well. Based on observation, I would recommend making an appointment, as those folks were taken right away. I was a walk-in at opening and still waited (with my fingers in a bowl) for 30-40 min. !!BEWARE of technicians here prying off acrylic nails with a plastic tip instead of soaking them off or drilling. The technician acknowledged that I was in physical pain and still proceeded to remove them incorrectly. My real nails hurt so bad now. This is a sign of lazy or poorly trained nail techs and not proper practice. This process will rip your natural nail leaving them paper thin, as it did mine. I walked in for a gel manicure at about 2pm in a Wednesday. I was immediately seated and everyone was very nice. 2 days later my gel nails started to chip and after 5 days the gel polish on 2 of my nails completely peeled off. I went here 3 times now and I just get a basic gel mani and pedi no tips or anything they get you done and out relatively fast but literally 2days later my gel completely peeled off one finger nail and is chip on every single toe and nail, and that's just this last time the time before they were rude and short with me and I know it wasn't anything I said or did because I'm nothing but nice to everyone I come in contact with even on my "bad" days overall just always something wrong when I leave there. read more

This place has great techs but absolutely horrible management/ownership. I prefer the male tech the most. He is very kind and seems to stay on schedule. I can't understand why the woman behind the phone/front desk is so rude. Every time I call to ask about appointments she has an attitude. She only speaks to her customers when they walk in, when really we all are her customers. I watched her tell someone "you have to leave we have appointments" when the lady was already soaking her feet and asked that question on the way in. "Is it ok that I don't have an appointment?" AND they set her up in a chair to soak. One time we booked 3 pedicures and one person was done and one wasn't even started. She said "we are busy". We booked 3 together to spend time together not to spend the whole day at a salon. She could have said they didn't have availability but we spent 2.5 hours for a basic pedi, one was a male. Everything was extremely clean and the wait for a pedicure was not long. The woman who did my toes was very gentle and considerate. I told her I had two cuts on my feet and to try to avoid them, and she did a wonderful job at that. The nail polish looks really good even 2 weeks after. I get my nails, feet, amd eyebrows done every two weeks almost religiously. I searched for a decent salon in Hampton for about 5 months before I finally came out to Elite. I am soooo happy I did. I dont like drills on my natural nails and there didnt seem to be a salon in VA that understood that. I have been yelled at for asking techs to not use drills which is ridiculous. Elite understands. They are so thorough and their pedicures are wonderful. The salon is very clean and all the staff is pleasant. No bad odors AND they are open everyday! I recently went for mani-pedi here. They are very fast and did not spend much time on me. The prices posted were $28 for regular pedi, and $16 for mani for a total of $44. When I went to pay they asked me for $50. I pointed to the price list and they said they were "old" price. One person did the pedicure, and another the manicure.
