I skipped 2015 due to a 1 year deployment but as soon as I got back I knew where I had to make my first stop..Elite Nails! I love the dark color pink they use because it makes the white standout. They are always professional. I would recommend making an appointment instead of walking in since they do tend to stay busy Thursdays thru Sunday. My husband and I went here for a pedicure. It was good but could be better. My husband likes getting pedicure where they use the razor to get the dead cracked skin off and this salon did not have that. I know not all states allow the razor but he swears that some will if you just asked. My pedicure was good. I was not happy with the way the gentlemen performing the pedicure tried to rip my "potential" ingrown toenail instead of cutting it. It felt like someone was pulling off a hang nail. The staff was very friendly and accommodating which is nice. They are a little over priced but it seems like they all are around here. Best nail salon in the area! They have so many different regular and gel polishes to choose from. The staff is always so nice and accommodating and the place is so clean. All of the tools that they use on your nails are in a sealed sanitized package, which I love. Would highly recommend! DO NOT EVER COME HERE!! I was a loyal customer for years and they do not respect that. I got my gel nails done here in within less than 24 hours 2 peeled off and one chipped and cracked down the middle. They would not refund the money nor give me a gift card to get them done for free another time. Terrible service and they use old/bad nail polish. Don't waste your time or money. read more

If I could less than 1 star I would. This is the second time I had come to this salon, as my regular salon was booked for the day. They are so rude here. I asked for a polish change on my toes, just a polish change with regular polish, they charged me $16 dollars. The sign on the wall advertised a totally different price and was asked 2 times what the tip would be at the register. My daughter was with me (16 years old) and needed a fill with regular polish, she was rude to my daughter and then the nails have bubbles in them. My daughter paid for her fill and it was $26 dollars ( again not the price on their wall) and was asked aggressively how much to add for tip and if she had cash for the tip. I will never go to this salon again and I would encourage others to look elsewhere for a nail salon. Terrible attitudes, rough on your nails and overall not a good quality. read more

This place is fantastic!! I got a pedicure and shellac manicure yesterday. I have lived in the area for about a year now and I finally found my place!! The lady was so polite and the place is CLEAN!!! They use all sterile utensils fresh out of a new pack. And best part is NO DRILLS!! During my manicure a girl next to me was getting acrylic nails. All the filing and application of her nails was done by hand and no drills at all!!! The lady scrubbed my feet forever and gave a great arm and hand massage also. Highly recommend!! read more

This is the best salon I have found in the Yorktown area. I go to Jenny and always make an appointment in advance; not everyone here does acrylic. Most of the time she is on time, but occasionally I think she takes a walk-in too close to my appointment time and then I have to wait for as much as a half hour. I will travel the distance to go to this wonderful excellent fantabulous nail salon! Very clean nail salon. They have a wall that separates the manicure stations from the pedicure area. The ambience is very soothing and the lighting is perfect. They take pride in their work. I've been to both men and both are very good. Living up and down the East Coast, I've patroned many nail salons - some good some bad. But this by far is my favorite. You don't have to worry about them being rude or leaving with a fungus, as they properly sterilize all tools and stations. I don't fear looking behind the pedicure bowl to find mildew and mold, as I've seen in many salons in the 757 (yuck!!) I advise you to make an appointment prior to going, especially Thursday through Sunday. They have a frequent visitor card which is very very nice; the frequent patron card comes in handy, in particular when you reach that 10 visit mark. Everyone is strongly encouraged to try the deluxe pedicure at least once; you will not regret it! My gel manicure was "lumpy" and chipped in 3days. They work hard push extra more expensive services but their quality will is not worth the cost. Very pushy. Not friendly( talk to each other more than customers). They use a drill and act annoyed if they are rough and cause pain. Several other better salons on same street. And they seem mad if you tip on your card vs give cash. I understand the cc fee but if I am getting ANY tip, I would be more grateful! read more

I've gone back a few times and the salon has made changes to their layout. They have replaced their bar stool area with more regular tables. I've never got the same person when I go in but they have all done a great job. I love that I don't need an appointment and never have to wait. I don't have a problem paying to get a decent foot rub and pretty polish only toes but this place was a real disappointment. The lady that did my "spa" pedicure was elderly. She cut me when trimming the cuticles and I bled for about 15 minutes. The "massage" was non existent as was the foot exfoliation. I came in on a Sunday around 4pm, the place was not super busy so I was able to pick my color and get in a chair fairly quickly. I came in for a pedicure, got the basic/standard option. This being my first time, I wanted to see how well my nail professional (Kim) could perform the basics first. To my pleasant surprise, Kim actually gave me a real pedicure. I recently had a series of poor pedicures, the end result would look okay, but the foundation of a good pedicure wasn't there, it pretty much felt like they clipped my nails, used a foot pumice, slapped the polish on and sent me out the door. Not at Elite Nails, Kim took her time-really payed attention to my over grown cuticles (no pain with removal), gave good shape to the nail and buffed them so they looked great BEFORE the polish was on... aka a real pedicure. Me being the indecisive individual that I am, at the end of my pedicure I decided to get a manicure as well. Kim was happy to oblige even with it being close to closing. She did a great job, the establishment was clean and well kept, the environment was quiet and calm (I don't even think a TV was on, great for relaxing -I loved their massage chairs) the ladies were nice enough, and I will be going back. To note: I chose OPI as my brand for my color and Kim let me know they charge an extra $3 for this brand. This was a first for me and may deter some. I've certainly paid less for a basic mani/pedi, however, with the choice of local nail shops I happen to have- the higher cost is something I am able to live with. read more

What a wonderful place to have your nails done. My mother and I gave this place a try after being disappointed with so many other nail salons in the area. The team at Elite Nails is so friendly and welcoming. The facility is clean and very hygienic. And the best part is that our mani/pedis were beautiful! I recommend making an appointment because it's clear we aren't the only people who think this place is great. But what a large and beautifully decorated salon. No TVs here which is nice. Been going to this salon for years. This last visit was enough to have me look elsewhere. The pedicure was great, but the atmosphere has been getting worse. The staff talk loud and speaks only their language. Makes you feel like they talk about their customers. The 5 staff would not stop chattering...it is no longer relaxing in that salon. They are rude to the customers. The two chairs next to me the staff was napping and had there ipad blasting Asian music. It gets worse every visit. Nails were prepped by a nice young lady and completed by Dua (sorry if I didn't spell your name right). He was very calm and took his time. Friendly, professional and personable staff. Updated, clean and calm environment. Not once did it hurt! He used precision during sculpting and drilling and it shows - My nails (gel with white tips - not shellac) look awesome! Unfortunately, I do not recommend this salon. I'm new to the area and tried it out because it got such great reviews on Yelp. My experience wasn't good. I called in advance for an appointment, but waited for about 45 min (so did 3 others who also made appts). Although the person who did my pedicure was very nice, the massage was lackluster and my toenails began chipping the following day. I had my pink & white gel nails removed and replaced with a full set, and the removal process was painful. Instead of soaking them, the nail tech used a nail tip to repeatedly push between the fake nail and my real nail bed. After she did a few like this, I asked if she could just soak them and she replied, "It takes too long -- I want to go home, too." At this point I should have left, but it was late and I didn't know where else to go. Within 5 days, I had fungus under one nail and two of my nails lifted. 7 days after my visit to Elite Nails, I tried Grafton Nails for help, with two of my nails completely missing, another lifted halfway up, and a fungal infection. I had no choice but to have the rest of the set removed and to just let my real nails recover. I also got another pedicure. It's been 2 weeks since I went to Elite Nails, and my nail beds are still splotchy & quite sore to the touch. To add insult to injury, a full set at Elite Nails is $15 more than Grafton Nails. I don't enjoy having to give such a poor review, but I would hate for someone else to have the same experience that I did. read more
