Initially there was a mishap here at elite pawn and I purchased a necklace that turned out to be less carrots than what the purchase price indicated, and in a knee jerk reaction I posted a bad review on this company and it sat here on Yelp for 3 years, and I have to be brutally honest about the fact that I feel guilty for that review because I honestly did not give them the opportunity to make things right with me before I wrote that review and I could have in hindsight brought it back to them and they would have gave me every penny back that I lost it's obvious that they purchased the necklace that was tested using the old acid test method which had its deficiencies, they now use a element analyzer that they invested at least $20,000 in and it allows them to analyze gold and each of its elements in the gold that give it its carrot designation and for that reason and several others they are Now experts at analyzing gold when it comes off the streets , better than they ever were before ,they have made their entire process much more efficient and accurate and if I'm honest with myself and the community I have to admit that after reading the return policy at elite pawn, and to be fair, they have a better return policy than any other pawn shop I've ever seen but yet and still I was concerned that if I was honest with them about the fact that I had that the chain tested and it wasn't the carrot designation that I purchased the chain at, I was worried that elite pawn would not give me my money back, and the reality of the situation is irrespective of that I should have gave them the opportunity to make things right before I wrote a review and for that reason alone I am publicly eating crow at this moment and I am feeling very guilty in this moment because 3 years later I reached out to Moe and tried to express my standing on the situation and Moe and the rest of elite pawns ownership had no contractual duty to refund me anything in that moment however ,they did, and it shocked me because I'm not used to seeing businesses that are obviously trying to survive in a rough economy out here like everybody else, still go the extra mile like that for a guy that in reality didn't deserve it because I left a review on Yelp for 3 years that I should have not written , until I gave them and honest and fair opportunity to make things right .....I just assumed that they wouldn't make things right because I'm jaded like everybody else out here and I've been done bad by so many companies that I just didn't think that one would actually do me right and it was for that predisposed bias from past experiences that I didn't give them a chance and you know what that's on me because they did make things right with me and they paid me every penny I lost and so for that reason alone I am publicly saying I believe this company is solid company they employ people in the neighborhood that desperately need jobs with living wages they bring commerce and economy and funds into a community that is struggling and they're just generally good people I mean when I went in there last night to pick up the remaining $1,200 that I lost on the purchase of a chain I fully expected the staff members and the owner and everybody to be mad at me and and not treat me with much hospitableness however even that predisposed expectation was erroneous because they were nice to me even when I didn't deserve it and so they're very courteous they're very professional and stand up guys they're always happy in there and they're always nice and I honestly feel ashamed for writing a bad review on this company I would advise anybody that needs gold or would like a pair of Jordans , want a loan , or for any reason ,, to go to elite pawn shop,, these are good people, these people are solid, and I was out of pocket for writing anything bad about them ...the ownership in the management in this company are excellent and I wish I would have never wrote anything bad about them and I intend to do business with them in the future they were gracious enough to allow me to come back in there and still do business with them and I intend to I would recommend anybody that needs anything that they provide to go in there and get it because these people bring jobs and money into our communities I am sorry I wrote anything bad about them,. My boyfriend lives down in Federal Way, we were out looking for a ps4 when we noticed a new pawn shop, Elite Pawn caught our eye. We went in and OMG such a clean pawn shop. I have been in may pawn shops, most of them dirty with dirty stock and a musty smell. Elite is clean and you can tell was carefully selected by the owner. Everything in the store was clean and presented nicely. Once we walked in we were greeted by one employee, the other was helping a customer who was trying to pawn something. They gave us our room to browse then approached us after a little to ask how we were doing any if they could help. In regards to their prices, from what I know, very reasonable. Owner is always there so you may be able to swing a little discount. I love pawn shop shopping, esp dvd browsing, my boyfriend and I will be back. I've dealt with the owner twice, pawning a high-end video camera, and that first time, he dealt with me cordially and honestly, giving me a better price than what other pawn shops offered. What impressed me most was how sharp he was. His humble shop runs like a Patek Philippe watch; he's aware of all the customers, asking what he can help with, giving advice for other workers, being very friendly, and doing his job remarkably well. When I returned the second time, a couple years later, he remembered me and the camera I had pawned! And it was like seeing an old friend, until I realized, no, this is seeing an old friend. This is the type of service that promotes repeat customers, of which I am one. He again gave me a great deal and was easy with the negotiations, saying, "I know you'll be back for it again. This is the best pawnshop in King County, maybe in all of Washington; they're as good as it gets. I prefer Elite Pawn in Federal Way for many reasons. Not only do they provide excellent customer service, but the hours are great, there's 15% less fees than most places (no missing ticket fees, etc.), they have decent prices, and they'll give you a fair price for items you trade in. There really isn't any reason to go to any other store because they even price match if you can prove another store's price is lower. Every time I go there I leave feeling great; in all of my years going there I have never left the place feeling scammed or mistreated. I even purchased the dell laptop that I'm using to write this with at Elite Pawn, which was a great price and works just like new. Everyone that works there is great. Once you go in, you'll never want to go anywhere else ever again. One time when I got a loan for my laptop, Mo actually gave me money to purchase a new charger after mine was accidentally damaged at the part where the cord comes out of the ac/dc power adapter. Any other place would have given me a hard time or wouldn't have taken responsibility at all, but Mo at Elite Pawn didn't give me a hard time at all and after being unable to find a charger to replace mine he didn't hesitate to give me the cash I needed to replace it. This place is my go to. Mo is the man, always willing to help and work with you and never treats you like you're scum, always treats you like an equal. Hung out there one night and helped Mo trouble shoot some computers and he showed me some cool stuff. This place is the best. On top of everything else, I had brought an item in that I had loaned to Cash America in the past and gotten out, so I decided to see if Elite would match the same amount they gave me. Not only was Mo happy to match the amount I was looking for, but the interest fees are insanely lower than Cash America, and any other pawn shop around, I'm talking WAY lower. It's nice to know that I can loan something and be given a fair amount and not have to pay an arm and a leg to get it out. Plus, with Elite, I actually feel like they are careful with your items that you loan and ensure its well being while they have it. Unlike most shops where you see them open the door to the back and put your MacBook next to a dirty, greasy chainsaw with wood shavings all over the place, leaving you paranoid about what's gonna happen to it until you can get it back.
