Came here for the first time at my granddaughter's request. She loves fossils. This building has a dinosaur, so you can see it right away. There is also a parking lot. Inside the store is selling rocks, gems, fossils & meteorites & other equipment. You will be asked to sanitize your hands upon entering the store. It was Saturday afternoon, but customers entered the store one after another. The store was full of couples and families...The clerk staff was kind and explained and talked to us. I'm new to the crystal scene and after going to two other (overpriced) gem stores, I'm so happy I found Jerry's. The staff is well knowledgable about crystals, rocks, gems, fossils..all the goods! There's a fine selection of processed and raw crystals, fossils, and even jewelry. What I liked especially is that there are tons of raw rocks located in the back. You can even see the rock tumblers at work! I ended up getting a decent chunk of rose quartz ($1.29) and orange calcite ($0.24!!!). A great deal and overall an amazing experience. My friend and I had a great time here! We've now visited twice. We got into minerals a few months ago and have been to several local crystal and rock shops, as well as ones in various other cities, and also have been to a few gem shows. As we've gotten more and more into it, we've found that it's really hard to find that sweet spot of a place that offers a wide variety of interesting things, from polished pieces to raw slabs and rarer minerals, but at reasonable prices. That's why we were pleasantly surprised by our visit to Jerry's! It's not a huge place, but they have a nice variety at reasonable price points. We got a variety of things, such as a realgar specimen, an astrophyllite palmstone, some phantom quartzes, and a pink amethyst slab. You can also find faceted and polished gem-grade pieces here that they can fashion into jewelry, again at affordable prices and potentially done very quickly if they have the setting on hand (such as the Australian opal ring I am in love with now!). I also got a vanadinite pendant (I've never before seen this made into jewelry). The staff could not have been nicer, particularly Travis, who was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the various things we were interested in. We loved coming here and will be back! read more

First, any rockhound needs to go here. Your mind will be blown. Definitely check out the "rock yard" out the back, and please close the doors behind you. If you're a geology nerd or just like minerals in general, you will most likely find what you're looking for. If not, just ask the people working here; they are incredibly intelligent and knowledgable about material. You are asked to sanitize your hands when you arrive, so please don't cause problems and do so, it's an obvious reason. Further, if you wish to have a cool specimen cut, they will do this for you at an insanely low cost. I do not have a rock saw yet and I brought in some material for a $15 cut fee. Anyway. My favorite place to nerd out and buy raw minerals when I can. Recommend 10000000000% :)) read more

I was impressed at Travis's knowledge in this store. The man has a vast knowledge of rings, rocks, crystals, etc. I was receptive to learning more, but the guy kinda did a massive data dump on me. I guess I preferred his expertise/style in ring buying more than a "that looks good" sparse answer I received from other shops. The man is honest. One ring he straight up told me was too loose. I had bought a too loose pinky ring from another store that I had to exchange after this b/c the saleswoman was not helpful. I appreciate that about Travis. The selection ranges from rings, to rocks, to carved pieces, to earrings, etc. What I will say is they take a more "Rock Hound Scientific" approach than a "Metaphysical" approach like they do in other stores in the Seattle-Tacoma area. They are open tot he general belief about the stones. But give it's been 67 years since that store started, they probably took some time to adapt to a growing customer base interested in certain stones for protection and such. But just because this place doesn't take the facade of a spiritual store doesn't mean you can't find stones with amazing spiritual properties here at a fair price. So sad. I've been here several times as I am an avid crystal lover. However, the last couple of times I've visited, I was not treated very well or approached as a valuable customer. I tried one last time and felt like the scum on their shoe. Physically, the place isn't visually appealing, organized well, nor does it look like they care for their existing pieces on a regular basis. I feel like if a business is not going to be visually appearing, then they'd step it up in their customer service. Or perhaps customer service is a thing when you're lighter than a paper bag. read more

Love this place. Lots of rough rock and hard to find materials. I got some large Bigg's Jasper rough and some fairburn agates. I've never seen fairburns in person in a shop in Southern California. Staff was friendly. Will definitely visit again when I am back in the area. read more

Huge variety of so many different things that are all reasonably priced! I got my first rock tumbler here and some additional rough rock to keep my supply up and going. Love this place. I dropped off rough garnets 10 years ago to be faceted. Glenn found them in the back just recently. I thought they were lost for sure. 2 little garnets that meant the world to my daughter.. her first mining trip. She'll make earrings out of them and she's thrilled. What a gem! :-P This place did a fabulous job doing exactly what I wanted with a ring that had broken! They not only repaired the ring in the way I asked but were able to add pieces of another ring to make it even more beautiful! Not only that, but they were honest about the repair unlike other places I had gone and charged a quarter of the price for a quarter of the estimated time too! All great things! Pros? After bookmarking this over three years ago when I first lived here (moving out of Seattle WA and then moving back) I finally was able to go in for a little visit. It was well worth the 20 mile drive out to Kent. The people who work at this shop could not be any nicer!!!! And I really mean all of them-I think I interacted with each person in the shop (there were 4 people working while I was in the shop general inquires-if they could open a case). They are also quite knowledgeable about the stones and are easy to talk to. I was in there for about 1.5 hours-there is so much to look at and see (give yourself some time to browse). It is organized chaos...all the bins are marked but there are goodies to see everywhere! One thing I will tell you to do is look in the rough bins sometimes the unpolished versions of the crystals that you are looking for can be a little cheaper because they are unpolished and quite frankly some crystals/stones look better unpolished. I purchased a rather large Black Tourmaline that was unpolished in their rough section for 1/2 the price of a polished stone-and I thought it was prettier than the polished version. Also ask for things that you do not see! I really wanted a sugilite (hard to find, a little on the expensive side and rare in an actual purple colour-I've looked in Denver, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona and California)-They had some pretty little specimens (they were small-mine was about a nickel size) in the back...I took one home where I could see where it was possibly cleaved and I went to cleanse it and the white stuff which I thought was part of the stone, washed away to reveal a beautiful purple surface! (and I got it for a great price!). I also purchased a beautiful piece of pyrite that look like a geode formation. and a bunch of other goodies as well! They also have gems (like gemstone quality stuff...so they have something for everyone). They also have some pre-made jewelry, supplies for making your own. They have all kinds of price ranges! So take a look around there is something for everyone. There were people of all ages there! Old young and very young! They smartly put all the breakables near the top so children and clumsy adults (we have all had our moments) are less likely to break anything :) No one is pushy here and they let you take your time...Come by and do a little fun shopping :)-I'll be back for sure. read more

Disappointed. They post doorbuster sales to their Facebook page. They had a real nice piece and I wanted to pick it up today. I get there early and see that I am second. But perhaps they aren't there for the same reason and I still have a chance. The gentleman with the long hair asked who was first and I had told him that I was second after the lady with the rainbow hair. As it turns out, they were not there for the doorbuster. I was happy, and while I was waiting to be served, another lady who wasn't even at the door when they opened waltzed up to the counter where apparently the doorbusters were actually sitting and claims the doorbuster. Even after being told they were not first they did the whole "I claimed it". Garbage. Sadly the alternatives were not nearly as nice as the first (even evidenced by the price tag being $30 lower for those two alternatives.) So I guess they gained one sale just to lose another. I will not stoop to making a scene so I just left. Perhaps stick to the "who was first" as actually being meaningful if you ask for the information instead of pandering to the loudest person. Awesome place to pick up quality rocks and gems for cheap! My boyfriend and I visited this shop during our visit to Washington and all I can say is I wish it was closer to us. The staff are extremely nice and informative and not at all pushy about their products. My boyfriend has already made half a dozen rings from the gems we got here and I love them all! Walk inside & you'll be pleasantly greeted by rows and rows of good vibrations everywhere! Healing crystals, beads, herbs like sage and mint and more! Frankincense! This is the first gemstone store I've been to since moving to Washington. My boyfriend took me here for a Christmas gift and I spent 45 minutes amazed by their selections. I left with a handful of new gemstones and a handmade leather pouch for them. Angelite, Black tourmaline, carnelian, moss agate, lepidolite, and my favorite find, an aqua aura quartz necklace. We dont go alot of places now days and saw this place that had some cool stuff and took the kids to check it out. Was met by a nice gentleman at the front door who said there was a wait. Once it was our turn he let us in and it didnt dissapoint. After browsing for a good 15 min I was asked if my 3 year old had a mask, the door man didnt mention he needed one and let us in so i wasnt aware i told the employee sorry i dont and was offered one i said no thanks he wont keep it on but we can leave. To which a very rude man chimed in with a aggressive attitude and said if he is old enough to walk he can wear a mask!!!!! I was very upset how we were treated and there was no reason to treat that rudely when i said we would leave. read more

I never knew this little shop was here and I've driven by so many times. The inside is so magical and they have so much to look at. It's cluttered but not unorganized so it makes for a really cozy homey feel. 10/10 would recommend bringing your kids if they're into dinosaurs and rocks or just anybody who collects rocks/stones/crystals. read more

Excellent repair service! My husband brought my engagement ring in, to get a prong fixed, before we went on vacation. They quoted us a little higher then most places but were more flexible with our schedule. I guess you get what you pay for because they did a phenomenal job! My ring looks better then it did new (much better prongs). Other then repairs, this place does custom jewelry pieces, sells stones, loose gems, and handmade jewelry. It has an archeology decor theme that I really dig. ;) If I ever decide to get something custom made, it'll definitely be a replica of Uhura's Vulcan Amulet necklace. Just saying. read more
