We had our liner replaced last week. When I went to unscrew the rubber return gasket on the inside…read moreof the pool, they screwed it on so tight I could not get it off. I called the Reisterstown store to ask for help and the guy just laughed like it was a big joke. I spent over $7000 to be told, "we can't help you. Call the service department on Monday." When our pool and deck were installed 21 years ago by them, I added a side deck myself and the woman actually wanted to bill us because she thought they built it!!!! This company overcharges! Terrible company. Never use them again.

I would give them zero stars if I could. While there on 9/09/24 My fiancé & I purchased a pool…read morecover but we decided the next day that we wanted to return it. We did look at the return policy before we purchased the pool cover to make sure we could return it and there was nothing stating we could not return opened items. We didn't take the pool cover out of the box, we only opened one side to see if we liked the material and we didn't. Today on 9/10/24 my fiancé went to take it back & the employee would not allow the return because he said it was opened and didn't know if we tampered with the pool cover. I tried to call today 9/10/24 and they put me on hold for over 10 minutes so I did decide to hang up. Also while in the store on 9/09/24 we had to wait over 20 mins for an employee to come out of the back room to assist us. There were other customers that were waiting as well but they decided to leave because of how long it took. We will NEVER shop there again & if you do good luck.

I really cannot understand all the 5-star reviews of this company. Maybe their pool service is…read morebetter than their spa repair? After reaching out to the company, Frank Memmo responded the same day. Off to a good start! Or so I thought... I informed him my control board got fried where it connects to the heater. I sent him pictures of the bad board showing the burn marks, the make/model of my spa, and the make/model of my control pack. We arranged a time the following week for him to come out to perform the $175 diagnostic visit. When Frank and his helper arrived at my house they inspected my spa pack and saw the same thing of which I sent pictures. I tried asking questions to see what my options were for replacement, but they were met with dismissive comments and rushed responses. Frank took a couple of pictures of the control pack, although they were the same ones I sent him, and assured me he would come up with an estimate within a few days. After less than 5 minutes, their $175 diagnostic visit was over. I hadn't heard anything for 12 days so I reached back out to Frank to see how my estimate was coming along. He indicated he had been exchanging emails with his distributor regarding the new control pack. Frank informed me the replacement pack needed a 4-wire system, but I had a 3-wire system. I wrote back showing him a picture of my 4-wires going into my current control pack, although he already had this picture twice before. He then sent over a quote which included a 4-wire pack, but a 4kw heater instead of a 5.5kw heater like I have on my current control pack. Although the 5.5kw heater pack is no longer available I would have had no idea until it was too late and already installed. If you intend to hire this company to do any kind of repair work make sure to do your own research! Buyer beware...

Ive been a loyal Johnson pool owner for 6 years now and use their retail store for supplies…read moreeventhough i live on the Easter Shore!! But thats changing now. Must be new management. The water testing desk was a mess with papers and invoices and business accounting piled up. They were understaffed with only one guy Curtis testing, answering phones and dealing with other customers eventhough I was first. And then he tried to sell me so many extra products that ive been told for years were not needed. He was about to sell me $500 of salt eventhough I told him I just put it in the week before. When I asked him wouldnt the existing salt start to work once it got warm he admitted it but said that I would need chlorine shock and pucks in the meantime. Getting every dime out of me! Not going back.

They are great at getting your service scheduled and completed quickly. However, their prices…read morearen't that great. Don't let them convince you to buy the parts directly from them. I needed an Intellichlor power center replaced and I saw them for $304 on Amazon. I asked Colin why I should buy it from Johnson Pools at $476? He said it would come with a 3 year warranty. I tried for 3 weeks to get them to send me the warranty in writing and when he finally sent it, turns out it's only for 1 year. And you only have 60 days to register your warranty so if they don't get it to you quickly enough, you could lose out on the warranty all together. I wasn't real happy. Spent an extra $172 bucks for a 1 year warranty. Not a good value in my opinion. Don't let them try to up-sell you on their marked up inventory unless you get the warranty in writing ahead of time.
