I was told it would be a couple of weeks to get on the schedule, so I completed all the links they sent and even called on June 9th to confirm everything was received. On June 10th, I received a text from Mike asking a few basic questions about pump flow and the DE filter, but no follow‑up and no scheduling ever occurred. Then nothing for nearly two weeks. When I called back on June 22nd, I was told by Chris (Customer Experience Manager) that he had no recollection of our first call, that he gets 40 calls a day, and that because I didn't keep reaching out, no appointment had been made. I was then told to "try again in July." I waited 12 days under the impression I was already in the queue because that's what I was told. If they had been honest upfront, I could have contacted another company instead of wasting valuable time. Very poor communication and customer handling.

I called 4M and explained that we were hosting a pool party the next day and asked for help. I was worried because it was still pool opening season and I knew it was a busy time. Charlie came out, assessed the situation, and told us our old pump motor had failed. He installed a new (and much better) motor, added chemicals to the pool and gave a few instructions (including call him if I had any questions or problems). The pool was so clear for the party that I never gave it another thought! A few years ago we had a really rainy winter and despite lowering the water level at closing, the water level reached the rim. Charlie came out and drained it back down at no charge. We were worried about it happening when we were out of town, so he recommended a small pump. Now I have peace of mind. Every season I count on 4M to open and close my pool, and I know they are always there to help if anything else happens. I tried several companies before I found their unparallelled service! Prior to finding Splash, we had several pool companies visit our home for estimates, and nearly all of them told us that we wouldn't be able to acquire a permit. Splash, however, was the most accommodating. They said, "Let's try to get the permit, and if it doesn't work out, we'll refund your initial deposit, minus the permit fee." Sure enough, six months later, we had our permit. The process required us to jump through several hoops with the County, but Splash kept us updated every step of the way. I'd also like to highlight one of the owners, Sean Locklear. Sean handled the administrative side of things--contracts, ordering materials, change orders--and I was very impressed with his responsiveness. He answered emails promptly, often after hours or even on weekends. Like any construction project, there were changes and minor issues that came up along the way. For example, we needed to add a small retaining wall around part of our pool. Sean gave us a very fair price for the addition, and in the end, the wall extended further than what we had originally paid for. We also had a minor issue when one of their landscaping employees accidentally hit our underground dog fence with a skid steer--despite being made aware of its placement. Sean immediately took responsibility and covered the cost of the repair without hesitation. The pool itself was installed impressively fast. It was in the ground and filled with water the same day in early March. From there, the remaining work--including the concrete collar, bonding, coping, pavers, electrical work, black aluminum fencing, an additional paver patio under our deck, county inspections, and "pool school"--was completed in about two and a half months. Now that we've spent the entire summer enjoying the pool, we couldn't be happier. Everything has been running smoothly since the handover after pool school. Maintenance has been simple with the combination of a surface robot and an underwater robot that keeps the walls and floor spotless. I handle the water testing myself using a Taylor K2006 test kit and have had no issues keeping the water balanced or algae-free. Overall, we are extremely pleased with our experience. We're especially grateful to Splash Pools for taking the time to see if a permit was possible rather than moving on to an "easier" project. Their dedication and follow-through truly made the difference for us. Update 4/3/26: When we purchased our pool it included a closing and an opening. Splash closed our pool in early November. They just opened my pool in early April. Henry Martinez showed up and took his time walking me through the entire opening and answering my questions. He cleaned the pool, tested my water and added the initial chemicals. I was very impressed with this young man and his pool knowledge. Even though my contract was already paid for Henry did not rush through the opening and was very patient with all my questions showing me each step in case i wanted to do it myself next year. Thank you Henry and to Splash with coming through on getting my pool open on the date I requested.

We contracted with Remove A Pool to remove our inground swimming pool and it was our worst…read moreexperience we have had in over thirty years as homeowners. In fact, the construction of our pool was a breeze in comparison. The owner, Mr. Don Handy, is an incredibly talented salesman and told us what we needed to hear. After we initially did not contract with him, he called and offered us $500 off his bid as part of a special "Winter Discount" offer. In addition he assured us that he does not use subcontractors ("everyone works directly for him") all work will be to our 100% satisfaction and when completed we will have a beautiful yard and with no sign there was ever a pool. To begin with, according to the BBB this company has several alternative names ( Handy Contracting Services, LLC, Handy Home Exterior Remodeling, Asbestos Removal Now, Action Restoration Services, Next Day Demolition LLC, Next Day Excavating, Backyard Finishes, Maryland Irrigation Services, Next Day Power washing) and the number of employees is listed as three. RED Flag that we discovered too late! We got on their schedule and work was to commence in mid-November and we put in the contract that no work would occur unless we were home. At the start communication was horrible with repeated promises of start dates that ended up as "no shows". We learned that these were in fact subcontractors. While only one "no show" was due to weather, there was so many others that the office manager ended up telling us that she did not know why no one was working on our pool. Ultimately, work on our project was significantly late and missed a window of beautiful weather. Eventually, the job was completed in the snow and early evening. In addition, they had to move heavy equipment to our front yard and that due to the ground being saturated with snow, caused additional damage to the grass. Of course, the only thing they did promptly was asking us for final payment (even when their heavy equipment was still in our front yard). We told them of our dissatisfaction that our yard was being graded in the snow and of the additional damage. Their response: "Remove A Pool is committed to 100% customer satisfaction with the finished product of the grading and pool removal and stands behind that with a lifetime warranty. Mr. Handy apologizes if there was less than adequate communication and is taking immediate management action and reform based on your input. Don Handy will be calling you in the springtime to coordinate this re-visit to make the adjustments to the grading and complete the core aerating and seeding." Based on this, we mistakenly gave them final payment. After several months went by with almost zero communication and no visit from Mr. Don Handy as promised, Mr. Bill Lopez stopped by unannounced. He initially said that everything looked fine, grass was growing and nothing needed to be done. When we objected based on the substandard grading and the reseeding, aeration, etc. we contracted for he became combative and hostile. He said that it was our responsibility to assure the grading was correct before they left, debated what was in our contract, and started yelling. He left our home refusing to look at the problem areas. We subsequently received an email from him with the letter head of yet another company, Action Environmental Services, for which he is the VP of Operations, and states our concerns about the grading is outside the scope of the contract and to fix it they need to add soil and it will cost an additional $800. After a back and forth Mr. Lopez agreed to fix our grading. His solution was to send one person who threw a little soil on the slope of our new "mound" and nothing else. Not even straw for the little bit of grass seed we got and nothing the stop the soil from washing away. The bottom line, we no longer have a pool but have a ridiculous looking mound in our yard. No, our yard is not beautiful and yes you can tell we used to have a pool. Contracting with Remove A Pool was a mistake we made. Now, we have to pay someone else to fix the mound they left from where the pool was.
