Called Alliance lumber yesterday 4/29/26 and to get quoted on 17- 2x6x20' boards as well as 2x8x20'…read moreboards. Both Doug fir. The guy quoted me $284.92 for the 17 2x6's and $247.17 for the 13 2x8's. Sent my brother down there to grab the 2x8's and the guys charges him $307 and some change for the 13 2x8's. He told the guy at the front counter what we were quoted while I was on the phone and with attitude he says. " I highly Doubt that". I have no reason to lie about a $60 price difference frankly I don't care. But as my brother is loading lumber he called me and stated that the gentleman working the will call desk came out and told him he cannot continue to sift through the bundle of boards looking for decently straight ones and that he needs to leave. He stated that all the material is going to be bent and split. Mind you he already paid for the material. He then states that he's willing to refund him for the material he did not load yet and turned around and walked off. Point being is that I'm not paying for broken and damaged boards and it was wrong of them to treat him that way. We're a smaller outfit but after being treated that way this will be our first and last time using alliance lumber if this is how they treat their smaller customers. I guess if you do not have a large order and aren't well known they will hike up their prices and treat you like dirt. 10/10 do not recommend.
