Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable. I visited the showroom in Manteca to check out what my options were. I met Marla at that time and she was easy to talk to, knew exactly what my thought process was and understood how to address all my questions and concerns. I will definitely say that seeing all the showroom models really helped me better understand what I wanted vs what I needed vs what makes the most sense for my window situation. Even after a very informative and eye-opening experience in the showroom, I had trouble committing because, well, I always have trouble! But going there really helped me decide. Ultimately, I scheduled an appointment for an in-home consultation, basic measurements and quote. Marla sent Nancy for my visit and she was just a breath of fresh air to work with! From one knowledgeable person to another. It made the final decision really easy when I worked with two people who have been in the business a long time and really understood what they were talking about. Nancy gave me a lot of good guidance on top of what Marla had already shared with me in the showroom. Nancy was exceptional at the gentle nudging that really helped solidify my decisions with regards to what styles of coverings to use on each window (taking into consideration what room of the house it was, which direction it was facing and what would be seen from outside). It eased my nerves to work with someone who had the answers and explanations I needed. She helped me narrow down styles, colors, trim styles, retractable mechanism options, material and everything else! It was such a weight to finally decide! My official measurements and installation appointments were completed by Jacob and his helper Mike. Really nice guys. They were so quick and efficient with their time. Although they were in and out in no time, it didn't at all feel rushed. The product installation knowledge was clear in their efficiency and ease of service. They were also very respectful of my home and took necessary measure to ensure not trekking in outside dirt or leaving any trash behind. They also made sure to provide me with all the necessary reminders for new installations and warranty paperwork. Ultimately, I decided on all Hunter Douglas products for the exceptional quality built and materials as well as warranty offered. The products I chose were: -Hunter Douglas Palm Beach Vinyl Shutters (easy to maintain and clean, will not yellow for decades- LIFETIME WARRANTY!) on all front facing windows- for aesthetics and curb appeal. -Hunter Douglas Duette Honeycomb shades for all other windows facing the back and sides of house. Depending on room and accessibility to shade, some have the Literise (mania lift) and some have the Ultraglide (wand with hidden cord). Honeycombs obstruct my view the least and the cord mechanism has a lifetime warranty so I don't have to stress about the 5 year limited warranty on a motorized shade. I have all the extended details if anyone is really interested. But I've already divulged too much here. Cost was another positive thing. I won't share specifics as that will depend on what specific options you choose, but I don't think you can ever go wrong with the quality of Hunter Douglas products and warranty. All I know is, I got a price quote and then after the final measurement, it came back cheaper because Nancy found an active rebate for me! Woohoo! The process from start to finish was a mere 4-5 weeks at the time of my purchases. The final result was custom built window coverings that were made to fit all of my windows precisely. Definitely not something I could ever accomplish on my own. I paid for the experience of working with a completely professional and knowledgeable team as well as top tier quality products. We had our blinds installed in November of 2023. Shelly Buckner was our design consultant. She was very nice and knowledgeable. I was amazed at how quickly everything moved after the blinds were made. I was having some issues with the blinds installed on the patio door. The bottom kept getting caught on the bottom window frame. I also had a problem with one window in the family room that was a tad too long. After several months of being busy with new grand baby and other home renovations, I finally was able to call Elite to address my issues. I'm going to save you guys time and money do not order these from them they were installed on my French doors and started shifting to the left. They ended up getting damaged I called Elite shutters and was still under warranty but they refused to do anything about it. These blinds were expensive and they refused to replace them. I was extremely pleased when I purchased my new shutters and window coverings. However, as time passed, I noticed that one of the window coverings was put on incorrectly. When I notified them of this, they informed me that I waited too long to notify them and that I would need to pay out of pocket to get a technician out to just look at it, plus the cost if having the technician remount it. So, they stand by their craftsmanship. I understand there may be time limits for certain things but the covering was put on several inches too far from the window and sort of defeats the purpose of having it in the first place. It's unfortunate that they wouldn't just have their technician come unbolt, measure correctly and drill it back in. Update: fixed immediately (literally same day) at no charge. I was totally disappointed and insulted by the service I received from Elite Shutters and Blinds. The representative Shelley came to our home without a mask and made no reference to not wearing one the hold time she was there. She let us know that she was on a timeline and didn't have time to waste. She said that she would get back with us with an estimate and we still have not heard from her. It's hard to believe that the company would not enforced CDC guidelines regarding wearing a mask to a prospective client's home to their employees or train in them in superior customer service. We ended up purchasing blinds from another company that we felt was totally committed to customer service and reliability. I can't in all honesty recommend Elite Shutters and Blinds to anyone who is looking for excellent customer service and value based on our experience with Shelley. After installation, I noticed a small hole I was worried just might get larger with time. I contacted her and she immediately was in contact with the manufacturer and had it replaced. Went into the showroom to check out some blinds for my new home and Brittany was so helpful and patient with me in selecting the blinds and the vertical blinds for the sliding glass door. A couple days later, Jacob and his partner Eric came out to take measurements of the windows. They were very fast and efficient in doing so as well. Marla then followed up to schedule an appointment time for installation. Today, Jacob and Eric came by to install the blinds. Called to have eight cellular shades put in our RV. Was told that we had to bring the RV to them to have them measure and again to install. Was told this was their policy for RVs, but they were unable to articulate why or discuss their concerns. The RV is stored in the side yard and has full A/C and lighting. For shades in my home they would be happy to come and measure. They are okay with losing a sale worth a couple of thousand dollars and I am okay taking my business elsewhere. read more
