This is about my 6th time here, the first barber wasn't the best. He seemed uninterested and he was pretty high but my cut was decent so I decided to give them another go. My 2nd time around, I booked for another barber; he was amazing. So I made him my permanent barber, however he no longer worked there anymore. So I was set up with Martin the 3rd time. Martin is very chill & professional. I liked that he takes his time with me. His attention to detail on lining me up is on point. He listens to my requests and is very patient. I also like that they put a hot towel on you after they're finished with your haircut. This is my 4th time with him & he never fails to have me looking good. Martin will be my permanent barber from now on. Overall, it was a great experience. Nice haircut along with good vibes & customer service. The booking system is easy especially when you do it online. You can also call in to book or walk in. I've seen folks walk in without booking and they were able to get in a chair pretty quickly. They have hair products for sale at the counter. They also have a mini fridge with complementary water, soda & beer for you to enjoy while you're getting your hair cut. You know me, I had to get some beer. Will I come back? Yep. From the moment I walked in, I felt judged for my hairstyle. Nahia even asked if I had a "Britney Spears moment," which was incredibly hurtful and inappropriate. It's been two weeks, and I still feel self-conscious, even though this was something I'd wanted for a long time. I know not everyone will like or understand bold styles, but I expected basic professionalism from someone I trusted to work with my hair--especially since I usually avoid salons because they mishandle curls. I brought all of my own products to avoid harsh or allergenic ingredients (like coconut and apricot), and while she did use them, she ignored my explicit request not to use heat--diffusing my hair and sitting me under a dryer at full heat. The haircut itself was uneven in the back (the whole reason I went in), and the longer layers she added on the side clashed with the undercut. She cut my curls while soaking wet, which isn't ideal for curly hair. She even parted down the middle, including the shaved side, and just started trimming. I'd drive over an hour and a half each way just to support their business. Sometimes I brought my 93-year-old grandmother, who is blind, along with her sitter. She would quietly rest while I got my hair done, and I often paid extra to have her hair washed and styled too, just to keep her comfortable. One visit, right after the remodel, I brought my grandmother and her sitter (who also got serviced) because I had a funeral to attend the next day. My grandmother, tired from the long drive, dozed off in the waiting area. The owner and other staff called my stylist out several times, saying it "wasn't a good look" to have her sleeping there and that they "didn't want her dropping any slob out of her mouth onto their new pillows." That was humiliating and deeply disappointing. I had always paid well, tipped generously, and brought them new clients. What hurt most is that the owner, a breast cancer survivor, of all people, should understand compassion and dignity, especially toward the elderly. After my daughters posted honest reviews, my stylist, clearly upset "accidentally" burned my ear with a curling iron. That was the last time I went back. I supported this salon, but the humility that once made it special vanished with the renovation. I'll never forget how they treated a 93-year-old woman who simply needed a moment to rest.
