TL;DR: Came in for an undercut touch-up on my natural curls and left feeling judged and butchered--Nahia mocked my style, mishandled my curls, and gave an uneven cut that tanked my confidence. Bring your own products and low expectations if you have curly or bold hair. The 2 stars are only because she's inexpensive. I wanted a bold style for my naturally curly hair and decided to try a side undercut--so I shaved half my head myself and came in just needing a cleanup in the back. From the moment I walked in, I felt judged for my hairstyle. Nahia even asked if I had a "Britney Spears moment," which was incredibly hurtful and inappropriate. It's been two weeks, and I still feel self-conscious, even though this was something I'd wanted for a long time. I know not everyone will like or understand bold styles, but I expected basic professionalism from someone I trusted to work with my hair--especially since I usually avoid salons because they mishandle curls. I brought all of my own products to avoid harsh or allergenic ingredients (like coconut and apricot), and while she did use them, she ignored my explicit request not to use heat--diffusing my hair and sitting me under a dryer at full heat. The haircut itself was uneven in the back (the whole reason I went in), and the longer layers she added on the side clashed with the undercut. She cut my curls while soaking wet, which isn't ideal for curly hair. She even parted down the middle, including the shaved side, and just started trimming. I had no split ends--just a little frizz--but left with much shorter hair and no shape. I was charged $50 and tipped 30%, probably because I was still processing how upset I actually was. If you have simple hair and want a basic cut, maybe. But if you have curls or want a bold style, avoid her--you'll likely end up disappointed, judged, or both. read more

Cute little salon that is family owned & located in a convenient strip center off of Eldridge Parkway. Plenty of parking available. The store is kept very clean with a few products for sale & a comfy area to wait for your stylist. After Regis at Memorial City Mall abruptly closed their doors, my stylist landed at this salon. I love Mayada & she has been coloring & styling my hair for many years. I will follow her to the ends of the world, that is how talented she is. Very pleased with Maria! I was a walk-in client today, looking to get a repair on a bad haircut. (I had let my daughter experiment on me after she saw an instructional youtube video - she did pretty well, but it still needed fixing.) Maria immediately understood that I just needed to have the layers connected, and respected my request not to cut my bangs at all - and like magic - she didn't cut my bangs at all! Just got my hair cut by Jennifer B. And I love it! My hair is super thick and their is a lot of it but Jennifer was able to tame my hair beast. The salon is super cute, modern and clean with a very chic waiting area. Highly recommend Jennifer, she listens to what you want and left me feeling lighter with a sophisticated look that I have been waiting for.... I will be back! She also cut my friends hair but she has thinner hair and was able to bring life back to her hair. Her hair was fuller and full body by the time Jennifer was done. I feel SO lucky to have found Nozy, an amazing stylist/colorist at Fresh Drybar. It has been exhausting to try to find a hairdresser that can get my hair back to my natural strawberry blonde, without odd colored roots or a flat unnatural shade. She did it one appointment! She's a master mixologist of hair color and mine is a mix of copper and blonde, with some highlights and lowlights. Blondes and redheads are her specialties. Drybar is in a strip center in the Energy Corridor and it was a fluke that I wondered in. It's surprisingly sleek and modern with a great international vibe.
