Beautiful cakes! Excellent service and help with cake design. The cakes are always delicious.

How disappointing. What used to be the best cakes in the whole world is now overpriced and overrated. We ordered cake for this past Easter 2026. I'm just now getting around to my review. The cake was outrageously expensive and it looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the cake was extremely dry, and we found a hair baked into the cake. They did give us a refund, but I felt it was necessary to warn people because I don't think this was a rare happening. the employee that waited on us when we picked the cake up, had notable hair from an animal all over her uniform, which we talked about when we left after picking the cake up, only to find a hair baked into the cake. This tells me that they are not being as cautious and careful during the baking process. We will no longer be purchasing cake from this location. The price does not reflect the quality anymore. A family member took the picture of the hair and the cake and I will be posting that as soon as I get it from the family member. read more

Not the greatest of experiences overall. First, when I called i couldn't understand when the woman answered the phone because she said the name of the place so fast, I had to ask "Excuse me... Where am I calling?" Then I was borderline chastised for asking if they made marble cake, cakes. And then the grand finale.... I got an overpriced cake that was so DRY & DENSE I was embarrassed serving it to my guests. The "buttercream" frosting was the gritty/sugar style, the mousse center was mediocre at best, and again the 'cake' part was excessively dry and dense. Overall, I've honestly had better cakes from the Meijer bakery at 1/4 the price. read more

Super disappointed. My family has been ordering from Elite Sweets for over 20 years. From birthday cakes to wedding cakes to graduation or whatever event we had, we came here. I recently ordered the destiny cake for my mom's 76th birthday. The cake was filled with thick butter cream and not a lot of cake. Also, the raspberry and mousse filling contained only one layer. They even added thick buttercream layers within the cake structure which was gross. My family won't be ordering from here again. My sister bought me a birthday cake from Elite Sweets like she's done in the past, and this was the WORST cake that I've ever tasted from this place or any other place. It had more icing than cake (that was so dry) and had absolutely no flavor. I had recently ordered a custom cake from Elite Sweets of Livonia for my granddaughter's first birthday. It was in the shape of a castle with a carriage and a few little friends of the princess (like a squirrel, bunny and a fox) in front of it. It was a tiered cake, and I wanted two different flavors in the two layers. One flavor was Strawberry Shortcake and the second was a custom flavor that the owner Sarah created for us, because I wanted a bit of white chocolate and a bit of coffee in it. The party had many toddler guests besides adults, so we didn't want any alcohol in it. The flavor Sarah created was called "Chocolate Chiffon with Coffee Soak and White Chocolate Mousse (no alcohol)". Both were super moist and outstandingly delicious! Sarah gave the cake personal attention and despite a very busy schedule that day, she delivered it personally. We had over 100 guests and everyone was raving about the cake! We enjoy their cakes, but after an unpleasant encounter we decided to go elsewhere. At a nearby restaurant a few weeks ago, an adjacent table had a yummy looking cake that I recognized as being from Elite Sweets. They told me that Elite Sweets sells their cakes at half price during their last hour of business (between 4 and 5) on Saturday. The next time I stopped into Elite I asked, and the woman working the counter confirmed it. Fast forward to today. We were nearby at about 4:30 and decided to see what cakes were still available. A different woman waited on us and, when I asked about the cakes being half price, she scoffed and said "I don't know who told you THAT!" as if I was making it up. (Umm, it was the woman standing next to you.) So, either they changed their policy within the last week (doubtful) or the discount is given selectively; either way, her tone and dismissive attitude were very off putting. I wish businesses would realize that how you make people feel matters. I will certainly think twice before going there again. read more

I called first thing in the morning on a Tuesday and they were able to get me an amazing cake by 2:30 the same afternoon. The cake was moist, decorated beautifully and they definitely didn't skimp on the chocolate. Will absolutely use again and again!! read more

Sadly they weren't ready when we arrived to pick them up but no worries, Sara graciously offered to deliver them to the wedding venue when they were completed. Sara had the cakes to the venue in time, the cakes and cake table looked delicious during the reception and the guests loved all six cakes. Wouldn't hesitate to order from them again- excellent service, fantastic cakes! Pro Wedding tip- bring assembled cake boxes to the venue so remaining cake can be packaged and sent home with guests! Just confirmed sold to new owners it's been one year and this was by far the worst customer service we've ever experienced. When we called earlier to confirm if they had any white raspberry cakes, they advise they would be making some, and when I came in no one greeted me, and, they were on their cell phones. They were all teenagers working looking t said they didn't know if they were making any white chocolate and I asked her if she could go in the back and she looked annoyed and she came back and said they were only making chocolate cake, we used to get a cake here for every birthday. We will never be returning after this poor customer, service and attitude from their front of house staff. read more

I've been getting special occasion cakes from Elite Sweets for many years. We've tried most of their flavors with my favorite being the Strawberry Shortcake. This cake was so light, moist and delicious topped with bright red strawberry glaze and fresh strawberries throughout the layers. So yummy!! NOT ANY MORE!!! The cake we picked up this week was a complete opposite of the yummy cakes of the past. After one bite I could tell that something had changed. Totally different taste, texture and not fresh at all. I've only tried Hazelnut Cappuccino Cake from this place and nothing but, but the cake I tried was amazing. Oh my goodness, I really highly recommend this cake. This delicious cake consisted of repeated layers of chocolate chiffon cake and mocha cinnamon mousse loaded with hazelnut bits. The chocolate chiffon cake was nice and moist, but the star of the show was definitely the mousse layers between those chiffon cakes that were very smooth in texture with slight and pleasant crunch from the hazelnut bits in them. The mousse wasn't too sweet, it was just perfectly made and delicious. I also really liked how the whole cake was frosted with buttercream that wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. If you're ever in Livonia area in Michigan, I highly recommend trying this bakery. read more

They were great to work with and very affordably priced - we paid $200 and the cake was HUGE - 1 14 inch layer, 1 9 inch layer - easily enough for our 60 people. Been buying their Dynasty and other cakes for over 20 years. Even when we lived 45 minutes away. Even though customer service always sucks. It used to always be with it. Last week we bought what will be our last cake from them. Since our last purchase about a year ago, for some reason the quality is way down. The hefty prices (and even a long drive) really used to be worth it. But the dry (dry) cake and egregious amount of cheap white cream they now put on rather than the more expensive ganaches and chocolate shards left us more really feeling cheated. They are very rude! I had asked for a cake and they didn't want to do it, and then said they would for an outrageous price. So I said I would never go back. My sister asked them to do some graduation cakes and they said no! My sister had to ask why because they thought just saying no was enough. They said they wouldn't be open her dates, so she asked if should could pick up a few days before they would be closed and they still said no, just because! Yea some of their cakes are nice, but I can go to another baker with nice cakes and better customer service. read more
