They are very rude! I had asked for a cake and they didn't want to do it, and then said they would for an outrageous price. So I said I would never go back. My sister asked them to do some graduation cakes and they said no! My sister had to ask why because they thought just saying no was enough. They said they wouldn't be open her dates, so she asked if should could pick up a few days before they would be closed and they still said no, just because! WOWWWW! Chocolate cake! I took my own advice, chocolate cake. Lucky fror me my wife and daughter chose it for a couple layers of the wedding cake. It was great! the cake batter was a deep milk chocolatey taste. The white buttercream frosting was real good. I honestly could not be happier with my experience here with the cake I had made for my wife's 30th Birthday. It turned out awesome! When I hinted at my wife what type of cake she would want she said Chocolate and Peanut Butter. I was afraid that combination would be overly rich, but surprisingly it was not. The Chocolate Cake was perfectly moist and the Peanut Butter Whipped Filling was decadent, but not overpowering that you couldn't finish your piece. One slice though was more than enough. The Staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable too. The lady who I believe owns the place was super excited about the design and it showed in her work. Price wise it was very reasonable as well. Apart from my Wedding I have never had a "fancy" cake like this made before and I was expecting to pay a lot more than what I did for it. We got our 3-tier wedding cake from Elite Sweets, and it was delicious. We had the strawberry shortcake, alpine white, and the basic chocolate flavors...our guests loved them. The design was beautiful as well. The only thing that could have improved our experience was the communication. We felt there were slight discrepancies in communication, but we also had to plan our wedding from states away. I still highly recommend Elite Sweets! Word to the wise: save money on cake by getting a smaller cake to cut, and a larger sheet cake to keep in the back...the guests won't even notice and you'll save money! read more

Very rude staff. I walked in to order two cakes. The first cake I asked about was not something they were able to make, which is fine, I knew it was a long shot. The second cake i wanted was literally in the case, but I didn't have an opportunity to ask for it because the woman turned around and walked away without asking me if I needed anything else. I in no way indicated I was done ordering. I even stood there for a minute to see if she'd come back, and she just was working on other things. I had a custom cake made for a 50th wedding anniversary luncheon . The cake was decorated just the way I wanted it and all the participants raved about how delicious the yellow cake with raspberry filling with buttercream frosting was. It was so light and the buttercream was perfect, not to sweet yet flavorful. Elite Sweets was the one aspect of our wedding that was perfect. It was one thing we never had to worry about. Yes it is somewhat pricey, but the peace of mind that comes from getting a perfect cake is so SOOO worth it. They made us a fabulously beautiful 3 tiered square cake with fondant flowers and leaves cascading down the front. How amazing is it that each tier of the cake can be a different flavor for FREE? Score! Bottom tier: Lemon Chiffon, second tier: Chocolate Raspberry Chambord, top tier: Chocolate chocolate mousse with raspberry. Our guests were obsessed with our cake flavors and how nice it looked. Elite Sweets will also bake you an anniversary cake for your 1-year anniversary. The cakes are great but the customer service was not great. They sell their tortes during certain months. For example German Chocolate is June, August, October ect. I called at the end of August and asked if they could possibly make a German Chocolate cake for my dads 60th but it's in September. She said that of course they would still be able to make the cake for me, I would just have to call a week in advance to put the order in. I was very happy because I have had my heart set on this cake for my dad and family and our friends to try. I ended up calling today September 8th to order and have it picked up on September 18th. The lady had a very rude tone and told me they do not make tortes out of their month. I told her I was told they could and she said no. I then said she should probably let other employees know so they don't tell customers they can when they cannot. I was then told that they usually do make the tortes of of their months but this week they changed that. I said that it was weird and what are the odds that it all of a sudden changed the week I call. I was just extremely disappointed at how she handled it and her tone. She didn't even attempt to try and make it work for me. Also I would have even ordered a different cake from them but how she talked to me made me want to take my buisness elsewhere. I have pre-ordered twice and both times the cake was not the same as when you just stop by to pick up. When I went to pick up my order they had no record of it!! So they ended up giving me one from somewhere. It was to be the white rasp. But ended being a white cake and not the yellow as advertised. The cake was old and dry and not what was expected. After hearing people talk and talk about how great Elite Sweets is, I was so excited to have them make our wedding cake. We went in for a tasting and the cake was pretty good although their frosting is more like whipped cream (they call it "butter cream") and I truly like sugar frosting. They said they don't have sugar frosting. Anyway, the cake itself was pretty amazing. It was fresh, soft, everything you could hope for. Fast forward to our wedding day...the cake looked beautiful (but our caterer put fresh flowers on the cake since Elite Sweets could not do it for some reason). They were all decorated nicely and they were buttercream frosted. I tried the red velvet which has a light cream cheese frosting. It was tasty and not too overpowering. My boss used to have cakes from Elite Sweets for any occasion we could think of and then I started doing the same form my family occasions. I have tried many of them and have never been disappointed. Yes they are a bit pricey but these are tortes and they taste as good as they look, which I have found to be rare! They are located in a strip mall and it is small and unassuming but they knock out the cakes and are very busy. Fantastic!!! We had two cakes done by Elite Sweets and they were both excellent. The black Forest by far was my favorite! It was moist and fresh, had almost like a flaky crust layer in the middle, was very different than anything I have had before. The other cake was white chocolate raspberry they did for a baby shower. My manager pre-ordered and pre-paid for a cake for my workers birthday. My coworker arrived to pick it up and was told they did not have one there for her under either of their names. The bakery then suggested that she purchase a cake from the display so she did. She comes back to work with the cake and it was nearing lunch so takes a picture to show our manager later and to thank her. After we do the lunch celebration she sends the pic of the cake and she said that it looked pretty small. My coworker explained what happened and found out she that she been duped into purchasing a second cake. They call the bakery and were told that the cake must have been being worked on when she came in, that she could pick up the original cake, and receive a refund for the display cake that she did not need but purchased because she was told there was no cake ordered for her. Upon arriving there Robert advises her that she would not be any refunds after that was offered on the phone because the cake was not returned (during COVID) , we only learned of the error after the cake was cut. Long story short, 2 cakes were purchased because of Elite Sweets mistake and only one was needed. They didn't even offer to refund the pre paid cake that they stated no order existed for (their mistake). So over a $22 cake and easily fixable error Elite Sweets is cancelled! Now because of their lack of owning up to their mistake I'm forced to write this review. read more

Elite Sweets makes, by far, the most consistently delicious cakes I've ever had. They did our wedding cake several years ago, and since then we've had (and/or manufactured) reason to return on many occasions. There is a decent variety of flavor combinations available, and the cakes are unfailingly decadent. They have a variety of torte cakes behind the counter at any given time, so if you're willing to choose from what's currently available, you can stop by and pick something up on the spur of the moment. While the insides of the cakes get the most attention, it would be wrong to go without mentioning the outside--the frosting is terrific. Butter cream frosting is always quite sweet, but on fancy cakes it's quite often so disgustingly sugary that there are gobs of it left on the plates at the end of the night (I'm sure there's a structural and/or textural reason to make it like that, but I can't imagine that flavor plays a big role). Elite Sweets butter cream frosting is definitely sweet (and will still show up on a few discarded plates), but it doesn't make me sick after a couple of bites, and the texture is amazing (going from slightly stiff to melt-in-your-mouth in a smooth and not unpleasant fashion). You won't go wrong here, unless you dislike dessert. read more

It isn't the first thing I usually notice at weddings so I wasn't that concerned with getting it perfect. Luckily, after a bit of research, I found Elite Sweets. The entire process was very easy. However, since the partners have split, their attention to detail, and variety has diminished a little. I hope it's just temporary. Very disappointed in this place. A month ago they told me that they could make a cake for my husband's 30th surprise party. Go in there on Friday and they "all of a sudden" stopped making fake tiers. Didn't even offer to make the bottom tier an actual cake. Only thing good about this place is they recommended me to Mrs. Maddox Cakes and the lady was AWESOME who helped me! Cake tasted so so, but they were able to do two small cakes for me on short notice for my twins bday. Decorating was also so so.

I will start by saying that the cakes I ordered for my parents 50th Anniversary were delicious... However, that is where the good part of this review stops. The staff is rude. I ordered both cakes on different days. Both women who helped me were less than friendly. I ordered a 6" White Chocolate Raspberry torte and wanted it decorated to look like my parents original top layer. It did look like to picture, but the 'ribbon' banner was not spaced correctly, leaving a large gap, which I had to make sure was in the back when I placed it on the table. When I mentioned it to the girl she asked if I wanted another ribbon squeezed in... NO, I wanted it spaced evenly the first time!! I also ordered a 14" White Chocolate Raspberry torte. I requested that it be decorated with only rosettes for a bottom border and a simple shell border at the top. The girl told me that it would cost an extra $25 for this... It's less work than the normal decoration that the cake comes with! (I do know this, since I did attend Schoolcraft's Culinary Program). I understood the extra $15 for the smaller cake as I did request it to look more intricate, but $25 for less work? Absolutely ridiculous!!! When I told the women helping my I knew what kind of time and effort was involved with my request, she explained that it would be considered "decorated" since it wasn't being made 'assembly line' (her words not mine) like the rest. Well, I had requested white buttercream, so it wouldn't be 'assembly line' anyway. When I picked the cakes up, the girl helping me couldn't find them. She inquired to the baker (with longer dark hair) about them. I heard the baker snap back, "she said she was picking them up today!' See, I originally planned on picking them up Friday, but changed the pick up date to Thursday. Regardless, the cakes were paid in full, since I was told when I placed the 14" torte order that a full payment was due that day... I only had to leave a deposit on the 6" torte, when I placed that order that day before. I paid for both cakes in full the day I ordered the 14" torte. The taste of the cakes is not enough for me to ever return again to be treated with such rudeness!! I may be the first person who is bringing your staffs rudeness to your attention in a review, but almost everyone I spoke with about your shop has told me the same thing... I'm going to give a very mixed review here on Elite Sweets. 1st, the cakes are deelish. No doubt they are very good. I've had birthday cakes from here several times, no issues. Nothing special in regards to decoration, I usually get the White Alpine. Can't complain at all! But.... I ordered my daughters baby shower cake here. The shower was in February, during one of the worst snow storms. I preordered with very specific requests. One was that I wanted a skirt, and a bow, and a sleeping baby on top with dark skin. I specifically asked about the skin tone since the mommy to be is African American. So I gave them the date of the shower and she wrote it down, I said I would pick it up the day of at 10 am. So off I go to pick up the cake, trekked out in the snow storm, white knuckled the whole way. Relieved to get there, I told them I'm there to pick up my cake. There seems to be some confusion, they ask my name again, look in their book (again)....walk in the back, gone forever, look in another book, proceed to ask if I have my date right?????? I am ready to scream at this point. I have 40 people coming to my home, for this shower, I have 10 million things to do, and you're asking me if I have my date right?? Wow. So I ask, is my cake ready? She shakes her head no. She said I was put in for the week after. Long story short, they offered to quickly get the cake ready. They said they could have it ready before the shower. The owner dropped it off at my house a couple hours later. The only issue at that point was that the sleeping baby which I had very specifically said needs to be dark skinned, was fair with red hair. Not what I asked for. It actually became a source of entertainment, but still disappointing. Having said all this, the cake WAS delicious as always. So I guess you take the good and hope this doesn't happen. I went to Elite Sweets because a friend recommended them. He had purchased a wedding cake from there about a year earlier. I truly do not see how he was actually able to get a wedding cake out of a place like this.... I went in to order a very simple 1 layer round cake for my mom's birthday. My cake design was very simple but they wanted as much for the decoration as for the cake - I only needed cake for 5 people - it was not worth $50! So I changed the design to make it even simpler but it was even more! After 2 visits & 2 phone calls, I decided to just have them decorate the cake in white buttercream. I designed the rest of the decorations myself & put them on the cake after I got it home. I wanted a ribbon added to the bottom & I brought the ribbon to them & even marked my name on the spool. When I went to pick it up the girl had my ribbon in her hand & another ribbon on the cake (a totally different color!). I could not believe it! How much simpler could I have made it for them??? Customer service was bad. All 3 times I went in I was waited on by "new girls". They looked to be about 17 & knew nothing about cakes. I would NEVER recommend this bakery to anyone. read more
