This is a place we have had in our radar, but we somehow have not made it in for what's seems like an eternity. More than not our hours have not aligned, or we have been just too busy with life. My fiancé used to take her kids there 15-20 years ago, but also got sidetracked by life's challenges. We drove by today taking our pup for a walk and noticed the front of the building was damaged, so with that, noticing the open sign was on and we had no plans, we made it a point to stop in and see what they had to offer. They have an amazing assortment of treats, bumpy cakes, strudel's, cookies, flavored pretzel sticks, eclairs with their famous custard filling, lattes and smoothies, and they also make custom cakes. We purchased some cookies, a lemon bar, bumpy came, orange creamsicle and the famous eclair! Everything looks phenomenal. We also found out that a car had slammed in to their building on Father's Day while they were inside filling custom cake orders. Thank goodness nobody was injured. I've been using this bakery for over 20 years for custom cakes. I called them May 18-19th to order a cake for June 7th. They said it was enough time and everything. Then I texted May 20th. She said oh I'll get back with you we are a little busy ....NEVER HAPPENED. So disappointed by this! My granddaughter wanted a heart shaped cake for her 15th birthday. So my daughter tried this bakery because it had good reviews. The cake was beautiful. But.... The frosting was soooo sweet and they must have used some type of glue to hold it together. The batter tasted like it was made out of cornmeal and it was very, very dry. I told my daughter she should have returned the cake and demanded a refund. My daughter picked up the cake on my daughter's birthday (09/14/25) and as of today (09/20/25 it's still sitting here on the kitchen table. My granddaughter was so heartbroken. The cake was very pretty. I've always loved the flavor of Le Cakery. When my 50th birthday was approaching I found out my sister was planning a surprise party for me. Long story short, I begged her not to. It was a very stressful, sad year and I wasn't emotionally ready to have a celebration. She had picked a design put a $100.00 deposit on the cake. It was still over 2 weeks away until the party so she called to cancel that order. They informed her they do not do refunds!! I couldn't believe it! They said the best they could do was give her a cake that was worth $100.00. It didn't end there... She figured she had no choice so she agreed and asked if I would at least like to have a dinner with our parents and spouses. Of course I agreed and was getting ready the day we planned for when she called me, very upset. She was running behind that day and when she went to pick up the cake at 3pm it was closed! She had no idea. And because of our work scedules and Christmas in a couple days we now couldn't get together until the next weekend! When she did pick it up the next day they had no apologies for any of this and just told her the cake will be fine for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.. So we did have it the next weekend. Maybe because I was upset but it also did not taste very well or liked I remembered (I wouldn't tell my sister that) and though it was bigger and pretty it definitely not worth $100.00 and we end up having to throw over half away. Marble cake looked pretty but BEWARE! Bottom layer of cake was WET! Called about this problem and woman said that is the way they make them for 38 years. Really? And people like the bottom layer of their cake wet? I think not. This is a potential health concern that should be properly inspected by the County. And don't expect butter in the cakes or cookies. The smell of coconut oil was overpowering in the cookies and the aftertaste is unmistakable. Coconut oil used in the cake icing too. I got my baby shower cake here 1 week before my shower because my other cake person fell through. I really didn't know what I wanted going in and the lady at the counter was very helpful asking questions to find out how to decorate it. Now I am very picky when it comes to cake and especially frosting. I don't want it too sweet and sugary or too buttery. I've had buttercream that tastes like pretty much butter and lets be honest no one wants that. This cake was super moist and the frosting was light, just sweet enough and it was plain amazing. I got so many compliments on the cake and how great it was. This elephant cake was worth the price. I ordered two birthday cakes from Le'cakery for my twins 8th birthday. They were OUTSTANDING. Everyone at the party agreed it was some of the best cake they had ever had. I actually thought it was better than my wedding cake was. Moist cake, beautiful design. One thing I really appreciated was that the frosting wasn't super sugary sweet. You know how sometimes there is so much sugar in the frosting that it almost feels granular in your mouth? Not here. Smooth, creamy frosting that was pleasantly sweet without being cloying. Their prices are very fair for the quality you get. I have purchased cheaper cakes from grocery stores or Costco that have been okay, but its funny how half of the cake ends up in the trash. Those cheaper cakes come no where close to matching the quality that you get from Le'cakery - and every single bite was finished. There was no cake in the garbage two days later. I get my cakes On my birthday from this place every year and other cakes often.On Oct, 2022 I ordered a cake from this place that was ok ,then a week later I called back to have the exact cake remade. When I got the second cake, it wasn't the same as the other one. She used a differ icing and that's not what I asked for, so I called her to let her know. She told me that there is nothing she can do about it . Yes , I was upset and I know I shouldn't have returned back there for business, but I did . On April 12, 2023 I bought a cake. I did eat some of the cake because I wasn't expecting a bug to be dead in one of the flowers . I called to tell her about it, she said since I had eating some of the cake there is nothing she can do about it. I'm tired of this lady bs. She has messed up so many times with my cakes and others cakes I order and never willing to remake or refund. so I did dispute this with my bank this time and wrote a review on this bad Business. Picked up a cheesecake today that my boyfriends daughter ordered for Thanksgiving. No idea how it will taste but I will not be eating it. The entire bake shop was dark, dusty and dirty. Mud was all over the floor and the cases of cookies were covered in dust and many looked as though they had been there for years. Some of the cases had dead flies in the corners of them. There was a cooler of soft drinks off to the side that many were no longer full due to having sat there for so long. Lived in Westland all my life and just now checked this place out. Wanted to order some chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day. First of all the smells in there are unbelievable! I wanted to try everything in sight. I'm not much for cake, but they have several examples on display and it all looks very professional. They have all kinds of yummy looking cookies and assorted baked goods that I've never even seen before. When I walked in one of the the ladies was preparing some sort of huge cookie gift basket that looked amazing. This place is a goldmine if you need a gift for someone with a sweet tooth. I did not get the cake I prepaid for. I took them a picture of the cake I wanted and when the woman wrote it up it came to $110 (3 layer chocolate cake with Cookies & Cream frosting inside) I commented on how expensive that was and asked why. She said "all the little dashes will be time consuming" I said ok and paid for it anyway. When I went to pick it up they just used rice paper for the image. That is not what I asked for not was the picture of the cake I wanted rice paper (it was an image of another cake someone made, I found on the internet). Not worth $110 IMHO. It was too late to go somewhere else for a cake like this. So I took it home anyway. In no way did they offer to refund some of my money. I will never go back there again. read more

Pretty little stand-alone bakery that has it's own parking lot on the right side of Wayne before Warren. I got a chance to talk to the staff and was impressed with the cleanliness and elegance of the store. This store would easily fit into Birmingham or Royal Oak. I did drive there for the paczki and found out that they are only available from the Saturday before Paczki Day to Paczki Day itself. They did have Seven Sister's cake, a Polish specialty, which I happily purchased, along with an assortment of cookies, butter tarts and apricot rugelach. All were excellent and soo fresh! I just went with my daughter to pick up her gorgeous birthday cake. While i was there i discovered this quiet, clean and well kept bakery that offers a variety of coffees and smoothies. I purchased the all berry smoothy it was delicious and i didnt feel bad about drinking it, i saw no sugar added. I also indulged and purchased a apple tart, it was fabulous, the tartshell was made from scratch, you taste the butter and vanilla in the pastry, the freshest taste. The apple was perfect not to sweet but so delectable. This was one if the nicest treats i have had in a while, this was just outstanding. I will return for more.
