If I could give negative stars I would. I have taken clothing to Miriam every couple of years because she is right by my house. As long as she did a good job at a "reasonable" rate I have overlooked her lack of customer service skills. She has no problem speaking or understanding English when she is giving you a price or telling you to "hurry up" rudely in front of other customers in her cramped little space. But if you you have a problem with her work or her pricing she suddenly only speaks Spanish. What tipped the scales this time - and causes me to NEVER return there again - is charging me $300 to hem my 8 year olds 3 suits. I have brought the same 3 suits in before and 3 different suits before that for the exact same alterations and have NEVER paid that much. My bill has never been over $100.00 before. Not only did her assistant ringing my bill up LAUGH at me when she saw my face at hearing the price but she continued giggling as I asked for an ITEMIZED bill so I could be told the prices she charged. There is a list of prices for services posted behind the cash register and it proved I was grossly overcharged. We are talking hemming pants and sleeves. She went on and on that this was a particularly difficult job. I reminded her she had done the same work for 3x less twice before. She refused to write me an itemized list and kept throwing out numbers to me and speaking Spanish while the girl assisting her giggled like a 5 year old. I had to pay this bill or my son's suits wouldn't be returned. I honestly should have left them since all three cost only $50 more than her trumped up bill. She actually told me "You're Welcome" sarcastically as she left the room. This is NOT an honest business. This is NOT an honest woman. There is nothing provided you to fight your bill if they make a mistake or if they are just plain thieves as was proven to me. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS OR THEIR BEHAVIOR. read more

I had just an awful experience using this place as recommend by Jos. A Bank. I took two pair of slacks there for some minor alterations and simple clasp repair. I gave specific instructions to repair the clasp on a pair of my favorite slacks that fit perfectly and then to hem the second pair to match. They told me it would be 2-1/2 weeks... That sounded way too long but because I was referred by Jos. A Bank, I left them there against my gut feeling to take then somewhere else. A week later, i decided to go pick up my slacks and take them somewhere else. When I got there to claim my slacks, I noticed they had removed the hem from my favorite slacks clearly disregarding my explicit instructions. I was quite annoyed with the shop owner but she said she would put them back the way they were. At that point, I was stuck to let her correct her neglect... oy vey. So on my favorite slacks, which were expensive Jos. A Bank slacks, unhemmed, they have the stitching on the bottom of each leg so that they don't fray... After picking up my slacks and inspecting them, I could clearly see that she had cut the bottom of the legs of my pants off compromising the overall length. However, she did re-hem my pants with the cuff. BOTTOM LINE... Think twice before trusting this shop with your expensive clothes and specific alterations. I for one will look for another tailor who will pay closer attention to specific instructions and give me a warm feeling that they will take good care of my clothes. read more

My bridal group and I took our formal dresses here. Big mistake and will never give them our business again. The alterations were horrible and the bust area looked so bad. Then they charged US to fix it!!!! Ridiculous !!! read more

Had a formal dress tailored here, which ended up costing as much as the dress itself. I will probably research other options in the future because I felt overcharged here, however, the tailoring was flawless. I asked other people who also thought the price was way too high, but if you have an important garment that you dont want to trust to just anyone, this would be the place to go. They also finished earlier than promised. I wish someone would have called to tell me (found out by just going in and checking) but happy to have it early! I would recommend them for the great job done on a formal gown. read more

I took a dress I was planning to wear for New Years Eve about two and a half weeks in advance. The dress was a bit small and I needed fabric added to it to help the zipper close. I took my own fabric and explained to them how I wanted the dress to fit. They took a few measurements where the zipper was and said it could be done. I was told to go back in a week and the total would be $45. A week later I went back for the dress. I was completely disappointed when I saw the back of the dress. The fabric that was added to the sides of the zipper was uneven. One of the sides was at least one inch wider than the other side and it ended about a centimeter higher than the other side. The zipper still did not close all the way and it looked crooked. I showed them what was wrong with the dress because they did not see anything wrong themselves. The owner told me to go back in a week and it would be ready. When I went back I noticed before trying the dress on that the bottom was still crooked. I tried the dress on and even though the zipper did close, the dress was still super tight on the top. I showed the owner once again that the dress did not look or fit properly. And she began to get aggravated with me. She started defending their work and said that if she had made the dress from the beginning that it would have fit perfectly. But when dresses are already made and they have to be tailored, it takes about four times to get it right. I believe that's BS because if you take the right measurements from the beginning there is no need to try four times. Not only were they very unprofessional with their tailoring but also with their customer service. She was very rude towards me and even dared to raise her voice even though she was the one who was wrong. I grabbed my dress and left never to return and did not pay her a dime! If I had known my dress would be ruined I would've returned it in the first place instead of trusting the so called "Elite Tailors". read more

I was referred by a friend/co worker to Elite Tailor. It was 3 days before my wedding and I brought in my wedding dress that a previous professional sought after wedding gown tailor had for over a month and given to me completely ill fitting and unfinished( way to short...not taken in at all & baggy..no bustle). I was in tears an frantic being just days before the wedding, but Miriam assured me she could fix the dress . Not only did she fix my dress and correct ALL of the above but she did all this in about 4 hours and called same day as dropping it off to let me know it was complete and ready to pick up. I could not believe it until I tried on my dress, and truly fell in love with it. I have no idea how she added on more fabric to bring the length back or what magic she worked in such a short time frame but I am so thankful for having found this hidden gem. I have been going to Elite Tailor for 8 years, having tried other tailors around The Woodlands, I have found only 2 that I like. Elite never says no! I have asked Elite to do some unusual alterations, and they always do a great job. A couple of times, they had to do something over, but didn't charge me and always made adjustments to my bill and treatd me fairly. Elite Tailors did my daughter's complicated bridesmaids and flower girl dresses, my Mother of Bride dress, and all were done to perfection, even those with complicated flower petals, sequins, etc. I've had them add sleeves to a sleeveless dress, put a stripe down the side of pants, put TWO dresses together to make a short dress long......Miriam never says it can't be done. She is willing to do whatever it takes to please. I may pay a little more for Elite tailor, but it is always WORTH IT, because I know I'm getting a perfect garment. WELL WORTH IT! read more
