I've had several shirts altered there, they do great work. They are nice people and provide excellent customer service.

I'm giving one star because I couldn't figure out how to leave none! After missing the deadline before Christmas (spoiling an expensive gift) I was told my order would be ready the 28th. Here I am the 29th and they haven't even been started yet! So, if you have a sensitive timeline or want your garments when promised? I'd take them somewhere else. I am! read more

Previous reviews said not to go here and I should have listened. One of the worst establishments i've ever been to. When I went to pick up my wedding dress, the daughter Carmen said straight to my face that they "forgot to finish it". And then I had to ASK for the refund. You would think that would be common sense, if you told me straight to my face that you forgot to finish my dress that it would be refunded, but apparently not here. I'm not even upset that they forgot about my appointment, just that my dress wasn't finished. If I could give 0 stars, I would. If you have any important event coming up, DO NOT take your dress here. My husband and I went to Carmen's after reading all the wonderful reviews. We both needed alterations on our outfits for my sons wedding. I had lost a lot of weight and needed my dress taken in. Carmen measured me and it was comfortable. Whoever did the actual altering made it so tight it was uncomfortable. And I had lost 3 more pounds since. She left no room to let it out even a little and just shrugged when I said it was tight. My husband wanted his suit altered and to have a vest made. It took 2 trips to show her what he wanted and to get measured. She had US go by the fabric and the lining. When he went to pick it up, she said she had messed it up and needed to make it again. She gave him a date to pick it up, it wasn't ready. No phone call to tell him it wasn't ready mind you. She told him to come back today from 12-3, someone would be there, and it would be ready. Guess what? No one was there and we live about 40 minutes from the shop, so it's not like we can just pop over there anytime. Our sons wedding is next Saturday. We started these alrerations in late July and neither of us have what we need/want for next Saturday! Stay clear of this shop if you know what's good for you. Maybe she can handle sewing a button, but nothing more complicated than that! read more

Very nice people and it is a good value got my prom dresss altered there and they did a very good job in a little amount of time

Dropped my items off nearly two months ago, was told it would only take two weeks and was told one price. Tried picking my items up numerous times and constantly told they'll be ready on x day. When I finally was able to pick them up one item wasn't even complete and I was told to come back the next week to retrieve everything. After picking up my items I was told a different price that was nearly double what the original price was. Was only offered a 10% discount after waiting nearly two months for four jackets to be minimally altered. Absurd. read more

I had my wedding dress altered here. They told me they would be open the day before my wedding to try on and pick up. They were closed. I had to pick up my dress the day of my wedding and they did not even press the dress at all. It was wrinkled when I picked up and I had no time to take it anywhere else to have it done. One of my friends helped get the wrinkles out and thank God it fit correctly because there was no time to fix it if it didn't. The plan was to pick up the day before because they assured me that if any last minute adjustments needed to be made they would be able to do it that day. I needed a pair of suit pants taken in and tapered in January. The work was exceptional. I understand that often it is hard to work around the seat when taking pants in, but the pants turned out exactly as desired. The prices are incredibly reasonable. I only payed $24 for tapering and taking in the waist two sizes. read more

We used Carmen for the first time a few weeks ago. She took my mother of the groom dress completely down 3 sizes and altered our daughters brides maid dress. She did a fast Efficent and beautiful job! The prices are quite low compared to what I've paid working through the formal clothing stores. Don't waste your money. Came in 2 months ago to get my wedding dress altered. It was slightly small but a corset back so all that needed to be done was add a larger piece to go behind the corset. She couldn't understand what I wanted, even with the daughters help and kept saying she was going to have to cut my dress all up and add fabric etc. so I called the place I bought the dress from and they said no absolutely not, let me come talk to them, she came up and spoke to Carmen and her daughter and brought a larger piece of fabric to show them. Once they saw what she was talking about, they slightly understood. Fast forward to now, 3 weeks before my wedding, and the back piece was sown on TOO FAR TO THE LEFT AND AN INCH HIGHER THAN THE DRESS EVEN GOES?! WTH. Also, I was getting my dress hemmed and asked for the left over tool for my veil (that I have waited until 3 weeks out to make) & she couldn't find it. LOL. Lastly, my mom had her mother of the bride dress hemmed and they added a thick blue ribbion to the bottom so it doesn't flow or hang like it's suppose to. Why would you mess up an expensive beautiful dress like that?! It's insane. They won't give us any money back, they just want us to bring them back and let them mess them up more lmao. Not happening. So now we have to go pay someone else to fix what they did wrong. This is SO rediculous. Not to mention, EVERY time I went in I was told the dress was too small (when it fit great as long as the fabric under the corset was larger) which they didn't even check the first time, I put it on, she looked at the back and said it was too small and wouldn't even lace the corset up to see that it actually was fine if we just got a bigger back piece. They're rude, they don't listen to what you want done, and they 'ghettofy' your expensive, important items. Also, they never remembered any appointments I had that THEY MADE, they never even took measurements, & I even watched them tell a lady who wanted a zipper replaced because it kept coming undone to just "be more careful with it" THIS PLACE IS A JOKE. read more

I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews! They're great and friendly people who do fantastic work. If I need a quick repair done (like a lost button) I typically take it to our dry cleaners since it's closer. But real alterations I take here. We live about 8 miles away but it's worth it! They have fast turnaround times and competitive pricing. We have mostly taken in formal dress straps to be shortened, and my husband has also taken in suit jacket sleeves to be shortened. I think this would be a good place to take a prom dress or wedding gown. They've had experience working for those bridal stores and can work with intricate details on dresses. All in all, good work and good service here! read more

I had two formal gowns altered by Carmen. The gowns were given to me by a friend when I lost all my clothes in Hurricane Harvey so the new gowns were very special to me. Both were altered to perfection! I wore one to an alumni formal affair and the other will be wore for a formal wedding in Chicago. Carmen and her niece, Maria, are wonderful women with whom to work!
