Exceedingly, abundantly more than expected... I cannot recommend these ladies enough. I brought in a wedding dress, I bought on sale, that was 5 sizes too big. From size 16 to 4 they patiently met with me and scheduled numerous appointments to get it just right. They also listened to my design dreams and totally rejuvenated the dress removing the train and adding beautiful bell sleeves off the shoulder. One after another, they patiently added four layers of modesty panels to the plunging neckline that I wasn't comfortable in. This was a disaster!!! Im so upset, my suit jacket is basically ruined. For starters, I dropped off my suit and white shirt. Shirt needed an iron and suit jacket needed the sleeves shortened and pants, I requested suspender buttons. Roughly two weeks later, I go to pick it up. The shirt, not even touched and obviously still wrinkled. The jacket, nothing whatsoever was done, and pants back suspender buttons were 5-6 inches apart. "What!?" I brought it to their attention because I tried it on before I left the store. The lady said they tried to iron it because they aren't a cleaner service. I decided to take it else where. As for the suit, they said it would be ready and fixed two days later. I arrive two days later, the buttons were fixed and the jacket seemed to fit ok but something seemed off. I went home and tried it on again and realized the suit cuff/sleeve was chopped and buttons were relocated. To my understanding, sleeves on a suit should be shortened from the shoulders instead of chopping off the cuff entirely. This place is the biggest mistake I've made in a long while. I'd rather wear a suit straight off the rack than to bring it here again. Basically $400 Gone! read more

I went to them about two years ago, and was extremely pleased with their work. I was eager to return. However, my experience this time was extremely disappointing. I waited over a month for my garments, when I was quoted a week to have to work done. When I went to pick up the garments, I was asked if I'd like to try them on. I did, the hangers were all banded together with a rubber band. As I tried them on I realized two of my pieces had not been altered at all! When I informed them of this, they backpedaled. Claiming to have called to ensure the price would be ok, when a moment ago they were ready to charge me for all the garments being altered. I never once received a call about my garments. I had to call asking if my items were done, and when I did call, I was told everything was done and ready to be picked up. I paid for my garments that were tailored but left with the other two that were untouched. They wanted to charge me at 86 dollars to have a uniform dress altered. I had no problem paying this, but as my same exact uniform dress (In a different color) cost me 44 to alter with them, and it left me extremely confused as to why the other was double? Thus, I opted to take the items and leave. I do not recommend this place at all. Very disappointing. read more

I'm new to The Woodlands and I brought a long plain chiffon bridesmaid dress to Tran Tailor to have hemmed about two inches. Although the quality of the work was acceptable, I was completely shocked that they changed me $80! I don't know if this is typical for the Woodlands area but I have NEVER paid more then $50 for a simple hem. Due to the price I won't be returning but otherwise I was satisfied with the work. read more

Sorry, in advance, for the long review but it's worth reading. Trust me. Let me start with the fact that I've brought in multiple items here before with no problem. Were they the most well tailored things I've ever had done? No. But they were fine. The price reflects the overall quality, I find. I brought in two pairs of pants last week. One needed the inseam taken up, one needed a very small tear repaired on the back pocket where the pocket flap meets the pant fabric. (see photo) I was told by the tailor that he'd patch the hole. I stated that I wanted it as inconspicuous as possible so it wasn't too noticeable. The hole was maybe half an inch. When I got the pants back, I was shocked at how bad they looked. They literally slapped a piece of fabric on the inside and just stitched a bunch of uneven, extremely long stitches on the back of my pants. It looks terrible and I would venture to say worse than when I brought them in. I showed the tailor, Tim (who is also the owner, I believe) and explained my disappointment about the quality of work. He told me, "That's how it has to be done." No. It doesn't. I'm no tailor, but I know that a simple tight stitch (such as a button hole stitch) was what the item needed. What's worse is that he didn't even trim the excess fabric from the inside. I explained this and he got angry and asked what I wanted him to do about it. He said he'd rip out the stitches and give it back for someone else to fix. If you look at the photo, you'll see that there are way too many stitches to do that without making a massive hole where they were. It is what it is at this point. He refunded my money for it, but was extremely angry, yelling at me and would not let me finish a single sentence about what I was upset about. I vowed to find another tailor and let him know I would be writing a review about the quality I received and the horrid treatment of a client. He told me " You're just rude then. You shouldn't do that to a business." I said that I would simply state what happened and show a picture of his work. That would be enough to show that the quality and customer service was enough to warn people to go elsewhere. Proceed with caution, is my advice. read more

I brought in a men's leather jacket with a busted zipper and asked them to replace the zipper. They replaced the zipper with a left side zipper (men's jackets have the zipper on the right hand side). I asked about this and the response I got was - that's all we have. No offer to make the situation right. No offer for refund or redo. They do not stand behind their work and do not care about customer satisfaction. I told him that he should tell customers when they intend to not do the job correctly and that this was unacceptable and I would not be back. Now I have to go find another tailor and pay them to do the job right. Ugh. read more

This place is truly a hidden gem of The Woodlands as it is tucked in the back near 2978. I took my formal dress to have the side seam stitched up and they did a great job with it as the fabric was sheer and is very delicate to work with(the hole was about a foot down the left side). I took it in on Friday and they told me it would be done by Thursday of this week (I'm going out of town this Friday and said no can do). Since I will be wearing the dress this coming weekend and needed to take it to the dry cleaners still I asked for a sooner time and they said this Tuesday. Today I called and asked if my dress was possibly ready early and explained my situation to them again as a reminder and the man I talked to sweetly said not to worry they would have the dress ready by 4 PM today (Monday). WOW! I was so ecstatic and I got to get it over to the dry-cleaners (I'm a very last minute person, lol!). Since the freak storm hit and for some reason the dry-cleaner down the strip center was closed the owner recommended another cleaner up the road and was so helpful and wonderful. Their work is REASONABLY PRICED AS WELL! 5 out of 5, I had a great and smooth experience with this place and am stress free as last-minute as I am thanks all to Tran Tailor!:) read more

This location has saved my butt and I can't even begin to thank them besides my continuous support, and so I will do that with this review. I've been here many times for fixes on items and have yet to be even slightly disappointed with either their work or service. Professional , friendly, and a willingness to help and get things done in a timely manner. If you need last minute, economical alterations because of your continuous clumsiness or procrastination this is the place to go. I can't imagine I would of gotten through multiple situations with such ease if I didn't find them. read more

Kind and efficient but twice they have hemmed too short! I'd forgotten it happened back when they were on 1488 so when I needed pants hemmed I took them to The Woodlands location.
