It happened at a very difficult time and place, about 150 miles east of St. George and in a snow storm. We stopped in Kanab for an engine test and were told that the transmission had developed a problem that would disable the All-Wheel-Drive. We were told that driving to St. George would not cause further damage to the transmission but the snow storm, without all-wheel-drive, resulted in a very cautious drive to St. George. We called ahead to St. George Transmission and they were familiar with that particular Subaru problem and they had the parts in stock. We decided that our other car, a Ford Transit 350 van handled even worse than the Subaru so while St. George Transmission fixed the Subaru, we had Snow tires put on the van. We have fond memories of St. George and, especially of St. George Transmission. They made our Forester safe to drive, even though the snow storm got worse as we drove on to Seattle. Great company and staff is very knowledgeable in Subaru transmission problems.

The tech showed me the crack and then, after going inside they used their price sheet in their computer to give me a price for the repair based on the make and model of my vehicle, the replacement parts and the time it would take for the repair. Estimated time was three hours and they said they'd have it all done before the end of the day. (It was after 11 am at the time.) I got a call around 4 pm that the car was done. Nice. Great. They treated me well and I felt they were honest with me about everything and finished the work well before the end of the day. I'd definitely recommend taking your car here to be repaired.

I was on the fence of whether to get the oil changed or not because I was kind of on a time crunch, however, I had to drive the car significant distance so I determined if there was no wait then I would do it. I pulled up and was able to get right into the bay for service. About 30 min into waiting, I had noticed four cars leave the bay next to mine and my car was still not finished. I asked as to why it was taking so long and I was told that they did not have the oil filter in stock and had to "rush order" it in. The oil change was then completed, and I went on my way, but it would be really nice to have someone step out and explain that there will be a delay or an estimated time or something along those lines. It took about 45 min, which isn't terrible I guess, but probably at least twice as long as I was expecting, which seems even longer when on a time crunch.

They pointed out a few items that could be addressed down the road but didn't pressure me to fix them immediately. They also cleaned up some fluid residue from previous work and verified that the repairs had actually been completed. On top of that, they replaced a drain plug that had significant wear. These guys do more than just oil and filter changes. They can do most engine work. I will definitely go back.

However, I was apparently hired here at some recent date because I had to remain in the drivers seat and follow directions this time. Not a huge problem. But I've never asked any of these guys to help me at my job. So I'm not sure why I have to be part of theirs. I'm now looking for a new lube shop that will not put me to work.
