Saturday morning I called and spoke with Andrew who said they were closed for the Easter weekend but could schedule me for Monday. I was a little nervous about waiting, so Andrew gave me tips on how to minimize the risk of it becoming a full crack in the meantime. He also gave me a quote and what their pricing included, warranty, etc. Monday came and Jack called as anticipated, giving me a 45-minute notice of his arrival. I was out for a walk at the time, but Jack graciously offered to wait the few minutes it would take for me to get back. Jack was very thorough in explaining all the "need to knows" - i.e., repair procedure, including possibility of the chip turning into a crack during the process, the warranty, and payment details (being explicit about a 3% charge for using a credit card). Within 30 minutes Jack was done and at which time I paid their very reasonable $149 charge, again going over the warranty and protocol for receiving a receipt. Would definitely recommend Auto Glass Kings for chips. Hopefully I never need a new windshield, but if I do I know who to turn to first!

She provided a quote of approximately $600 and was the only consistently positive interaction we had throughout this process. The following day, I received a call from Kyle, who initially seemed helpful and knowledgeable despite me never requesting a call back. After obtaining several quotes and speaking with multiple companies, we ultimately chose this business based on those initial conversations. When scheduling the appointment, I specifically asked whether any broken glass would be cleaned up during the repair process or if there was anything we needed to do beforehand. Kyle assured me, "Don't worry about that. Our guys will clean it up, just let them handle it." Based on that reassurance, I felt confident that the vehicle would be left in good condition once the work was completed. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The technician, Oscar, arrived and began the installation without taking basic precautions to protect the vehicle's interior. No covering was placed over the trunk area to minimize the amount of glass falling into the carpeted cargo space. As he removed remaining pieces of shattered glass, debris continued to fall throughout the trunk. In the process, portions of the vehicle's interior trim were removed. The removal of the glass left the trunk lining frayed and damaged. When we pointed out the excessive amount of glass that remained and requested a more thorough cleanup, Oscar simply responded that the pieces were too small and there was nothing he could do about it. This would have been frustrating enough if only microscopic fragments remained, but there were numerous large, visible pieces of glass still scattered throughout the vehicle. Hoping to resolve the issue, I contacted the office and spoke with Kyle again. To his credit, he acknowledged that technicians should be covering work areas and stated that the company would be implementing that practice moving forward. While that admission was appreciated, it raised an obvious question: if this is recognized as a best practice, why wasn't it already standard procedure? Kyle then transferred me to his supervisor, Andrew. Unfortunately, this was where the customer service experience deteriorated completely. Rather than focusing on a solution, Andrew repeatedly questioned whether the remaining glass consisted of large pieces or "microscopic fragments," despite being told multiple times that there were substantial pieces still left inside the vehicle. He also stated that covering work areas to minimize debris is not common practice in their industry, a statement that directly contradicted what we had been told by several other companies during our quote process. The conversation felt less like an effort to resolve a legitimate concern and more like an attempt to explain away the problem. After considerable discussion, Andrew finally agreed to send Oscar back out to clean the vehicle properly. For reasons that remain unclear, Andrew then contacted my sister-in-law directly, despite already having all of the information from me. The call became confrontational enough that she ultimately canceled the follow-up cleanup appointment altogether. The situation left her uncomfortable and discouraged from pursuing a resolution that should never have been necessary in the first place. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that several competing companies we spoke with explained that they use specialized vacuums and equipment specifically designed to remove broken glass from vehicle interiors, doors, and hard-to-reach areas. Even now, there is still glass trapped inside the rear hatch door. It appears this company either lacks the proper equipment or lacks the commitment to use it. We selected this business because we needed a timely repair and believed we could trust their expertise and professionalism. Instead, we were left with a vehicle that was not properly cleaned, interior damage that could have been prevented, and a customer service experience that ranged from dismissive to outright condescending. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. Quality workmanship, attention to detail, accountability, and respectful customer service should be the minimum standard, not something customers have to fight for after the work is completed.
