Normally I wouldn't bother giving a bad review for any service, but I feel the need to warn everyone about Dr. Ahn. The short version: Do NOT go to her. I made that mistake twice and now I'm literally going to have to pay for it.
I went to her originally because she was the doctor ascribed to me from a new health insurance. She was very rude, literally got up and started leaving as she was talking to me, and I had to call out to her to ask if the appointment was over, which she called over her shoulder to tell me yes. I didn't think too much of it though because all I really went there for was a prescription I've had for years, knew the amount, didn't need it changed, whatever.
After some mixup outside of this I ended up having to get the prescription from her again instead of just calling in a refill. The first problem was the office itself, which had moved since my last appointment. I'm not the type of person to get headaches or have allergies, but the moment I walked into that office I knew I got sick. It literally smelled like mold in there, I couldn't breathe, and I immediately got this pounding headache from it. A lot of people in the waiting room were coughing as well. There were also no windows anywhere, it felt super unhealthy.
I finally get called in, a nurse checks my vitals and asks why I'm there as usual, and I'm waiting for Dr. Ahn for a really long time. Eventually a second nurse comes in and asks me the same questions the first one did, so I was confused and thought for some reason I had gotten another doctor. I asked her why she was asking again and where Dr. Ahn was, and she literally told me that they have two nurses come ask the patients what's wrong with them, because Dr. Ahn doesn't listen when the patients tell her what's wrong. I'm so baffled at this, and by the way, this nurse was WAY more helpful than Dr. Ahn was this whole time.
I have to wait even longer and when Dr. Ahn finally comes in, she bursts through the door holding this cup of sizzling liquid, no hello, no explanation, and immediately comes up and tries to put it on my skin. It's to the point where I have to physically push her back and ask what she was doing. She said she was getting rid of skin tags on my neck. I tried to tell her that's not what I was there for but she says it's preventative and again is still pushing me back physically on it. Before I could even stop her the first time she had already gotten me with it so I just ended up letting her continue (by this point it had been a couple hours of me being there not being able to breathe properly and feeling awful so I just wanted to do whatever to get out asap).
Again, I'm there for a refill on a prescription. When we finally get to talking about it, she immediately offers me triple the dosage and to put me on an additional medication as well. I hadn't told her any new symptoms or problems with my original dosage, and I wasn't coming in there to change it all, she just decided for some reason that was the right thing to suggest? Obviously I said no, I finally got my actual prescription and managed to get out (after paying the new co-pay which had doubled since my first visit). I was legitimately bedridden for 2 days after this because I honestly did get sick just from being in that office. They tried to call me for a followup appointment and I told them as politely as possible that there is absolutely no way I'm ever going back and that they should check out if there is mold in their building.
Since I was only there for the prescription and I've done this countless times before, that really should have been the last payment I made with them. This could be a mistake on my insurance's end, but I'm absolutely fuming because I just got a bill from her office, including the co-pay I already paid in person and two charges for "the removal of skin tags" that again I had no intention of getting.
TL;DR - Dr. Ahn is a horrible doctor, extremely unprofessional, the building itself literally made me sick, and there's clearly something wrong billing-wise as well. Do not go to her. read more
