I had sinus surgery in 2014 to remove a cyst, clean out my turbines and crack my septum into place. Since then, I haven't had major sinus infections and certainly no chronic infections. My ENT Arthur Wu (a gem) advised Maxine after a bout with non-stop symptoms. Maxine consulted with me in her office first and we discussed my history. She was not condescending or arrogant. She immediately put me at ease and was determined to find the root cause and cure of my suffering. I was impressed. An assistant administered the allergy test. Maxine provided a detailed list of allergins and let me know I have vasonasal motor syndrome. A slight pollen and cat allergy, but the rest are climate-driven. She told me to try zyrtec vs. claritin and to continue with my nasal spray steroid regimen and irrigating my sinuses. She said I wouldn't need allergy shots. It's 3 weeks later and I feel incredible. Most restful, able to breathe and the itchiness has subsided.

When I called into the office, I requested to get the first appointment of the day with Dr. Sheinkopf. On the day of my appointment, I arrived early to check-in and complete any documentation. As I arrived, the front office staff told me that no other employees were there and that they'd assist me once someone else gets there. Approximately two minutes later, another patient walks in and the same woman who refused to assist me checked her in and provided her with all the same documents that I was supposed to receive. Once I was put in an exam room, I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time to see Dr. Sheinkopf. Not only did Dr. Sheinkop not apologize for being late, but she was extremely unprofessional and confrontational. After introducing herself, she proceeded to ask me if I had a problem because I wasn't kissing her behind. But as the appointment continued, her behavior got worse--she didn't really listen to me. I found myself having to repeat myself on multiple occasions. When I informed her of two confirmed medications that I'm allergic to, she told me that she didn't think that I was allergic to them because it was confirmed when I was a child and tried to persuade me into getting an allergy test for the previously confirmed medications. Lastly, I found it odd that she wanted me to bring in some of the food items that I was interested in testing, especially since these items are ordinary food items. Needless to say, once I get my allergy test results, I won't be returning nor would I recommend/refer anyone else to seek care from here.

Sometimes I'll get a text with no reply once I respond. Staff will say they will take care of something and yet it is left untouched. I don't write reviews often, but it's just such a shame the reason I left is due to front desk staff. Not returning a call once in a while is slightly understandable, not every time.

She was right in saying there would be some wait before we could get an appointment (it ended up being over 3 weeks before they had an opening) but it was worth the wait. We were really worried that it was a food based allergic reaction and therefore would have to be very careful with everything my son ate, but after describing the symptoms and the circumstances from which the reaction happened, she very quickly said that she was confident that it wasn't food based and that it had to be environmental. So, we ran an allergy test for environmental things and sure enough his back lit up. Turns out he was just unlucky and most likely had a few different allergens enter his body at once. We were so relieved that she was so confident and explained why she didn't think it was food and how she had been seeing a lot of similar cases around this time of year which made it clear to her that my son's case was the same. We left the office being so happy to know that we didn't have to worry about what he was eating and that should something like this happen in the future and instead just need to have some over the counter allergy medication to treat anything. I don't know how often we will need to return to see Dr. Schulte, maybe if one of our other 2 kids need an allergy test/consultation, but I will absolutely recommend her to anyone who is looking for a pediatric allergist doctor. She was great and, like I said before, worth the wait.

From my first appointment, Dr. Khadavi was different. He listened carefully and took my symptoms seriously. He didn't jump to conclusions or dismiss me as others had. His approach was thoughtful and methodical, first ruling causes out, identifying the underlying issue, and then creating a treatment plan. And if one step didn't work, he had a Plan B ready. I really feel that he was genuinely invested in helping me get better. Dr. Khadavi's treatment plan almost completely resolved my stomach issues in less than six months. For the first time in years, I feel stable and able to live my life without constantly monitoring every bite of food or in fear of flare-ups. He also reviewed my asthma medication and noticed I had been taking a sub-clinical dose of my preventative inhaler. With his guidance, my asthma is now in remission and I've been able to stop using my preventative inhaler. I can honestly say that Dr. Khadavi changed my life. Every year when I would request to have follow up skin tests to see how it was working, I was told he hadn't been on them long enough. I repeatedly would ask when he could be retested as I did not want to put anything into his body that was not helping him, or that was no longer necessary. Today when I called the office, they told me it was standard to retest after one year of treatment! I shared that my son had been on the treatment for THREE years, and that I've asked to have him retested annually. Even after acknowledging that retesting should happen after one to two years, they still wouldn't let me schedule an appointment for skin testing, and said I would have to have an office visit with the doctor first. It feels irresponsible and negligible to continue to have a child on medication that they may not need. There were multiple requests to measure how the immunotherapy was working and I was told no. This was over multiple calls to re-order vials, and video visits with Dr. Tachdjian. We will not be returning to this office.
