Very disappointed and would not recommend. My son was prescribed sublingual immunotherapy when he was 6 years old. Every year when I would request to have follow up skin tests to see how it was working, I was told he hadn't been on them long enough. I repeatedly would ask when he could be retested as I did not want to put anything into his body that was not helping him, or that was no longer necessary. Today when I called the office, they told me it was standard to retest after one year of treatment! I shared that my son had been on the treatment for THREE years, and that I've asked to have him retested annually. Even after acknowledging that retesting should happen after one to two years, they still wouldn't let me schedule an appointment for skin testing, and said I would have to have an office visit with the doctor first. It feels irresponsible and negligible to continue to have a child on medication that they may not need. There were multiple requests to measure how the immunotherapy was working and I was told no. This was over multiple calls to re-order vials, and video visits with Dr. Tachdjian. We will not be returning to this office. read more

Dr Tachdjian is the best doctor I have ever had, for anything. He has been treating me for Hereditary Angioedema for over 5 years, and found me highly effective medication for treating my attacks. Most importantly though, he is always available to help - even on nights, weekends, holidays. I'm pretty sure one year he FaceTimed with me on Christmas. This means so much to me, because Hereditary Angioedema attacks can be life threatening. As a result, Nadia and Jessica were kind enough to call Dr. Tachdjian's office on my behalf. 2 days later I receice a text telling me I must complete a new patient form prior to making an appointment. Half way through the form, the link stops working. The icon just spins and won't allow me to complete the form or save it. Finally I had a friend cimplete the form with me on the phone. read more

I came to Dr. Raffi after 27 years of suffering from chronic sinus infections and colds. I would be sick at least every other month. I had nose surgery and so many other procedures to try to fix this issue, but nothing helped. I even went to an allergist and immunologist to try to figure it out, but he just sent me home and told me there wasn't anything wrong with me. After my 3rd sinus infection in two months, my ENT Dr. Carlo Honrado suggested that I see Dr. Raffi. Although his office was in Santa Monica, I was willing to make the drive if it meant figuring out my issue. Dr. Raffi was so knowledgeable and did extensive testing on me. I had to go back 3 times for the testing because you couldn't possibly do them all in one day. He also did a comprehensive blood test. While the skin tests came back with me being allergic to only mold, my blood test showed that I wasn't carrying the required antibodies against 23 of the most common bacteria. I only had antibodies against 5 of them! This is why I kept getting sick! It made total sense! OMG, someone finally figured out the issue! The solution was just a quick vaccine to help the antibodies build back up. I got the vaccine a few weeks ago and am going to get checked again next week to make sure I'm good. Dr. Raffi is a life saver! I've been suffering for 27 years and no one was able to diagnose me, except for him. And his staff is exceptional! They are so helpful and nice, and get you in and out on time! I wish I could give him 10 stars! read more

Great office. Was on the lookout for an allergist. I went to one in the same building that left me a little wary, took the time to wait it out until Dr. Raffi was available for an appointment, and I'm glad I did. Is he busy? Yes...but there's a reason for that. He knows his stuff, he explains what is going on, comes up with a game plan, and then ensures his support staff are dialed in to give you the support you need. That last piece is important. I purposefully stayed away from a prior allergist due to my lack of confidence in the support staff. Complete opposite situation with this office. Have had great interactions with Tabetha, Ruby, and many others at the multiple appointments I've been to so far. I should also add I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes past my original scheduled appointment time. Highly recommend this place. read more

This doctor was recommended via my PCP for more thorough allergy testing. Met him once and never saw him again. All five visits after, I met with random other people from his staff. Each visit I was tested for different allergies and all ended up being mediocre. No test result was definitive and they kept selling you an additional type of allergy test but never disclosed the results. Payment was always expected up front without providing any results. Even after paying at each visit, they continue to ask for MORE money....two months later. How is any money owed if you have to pay at each visit???? I wouldn't recommend this doctor or office. We set up an appointment on TeleHealth and he patiently and knowledgeably answered all of my concerns about how long I could go without an allergy shot and some of my issues with allergies to medications. Since I'm writing a review anyway, I also wanted to say that every time I'm in the office for a shot the staff is professional, courteous, friendly and that the wait times are reasonable. I've dealt with allergies since I was a kid--cats, dust, pollen. It was bad. For a long time. In LA, fall used to kill me. And even in other seasons I could pretty much only ever breathe through 1 nostril. I saw an ENT and was told my septum is not deviated enough to warrant surgery. It's just allergic inflammation. I've seen 2 other allergists over the course of time, and received shots with NO EFFECT. Raffi and his crew must have tested me more accurately, because the allergy treatments I've received from them have eliminated 90% of my allergy symptoms. Basically, I just don't think about allergies at all anymore. And I was asymptomatic within 4 months of my first visit. I did a "cluster" protocol - 4 or 5 shots per visit, which vastly speeds up the progress. At this point, I pop in once every 6 weeks for a "maintenance" shot and that's the only thing I ever have to do. Apparently I can stop doing even that, whenever I want, but the longer I go, the more likely I will never have SoCal seasonal allergies again. Best part: my insurance covered about 98% of the cost. read more

I have been going to this office for my allergy immunology treatments for nearly two years, and have only good things to say about this medical practice/office. Every staff member that I have ever had interactions with has been friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. From the front office, to the medical assistants, to the good Dr himself, they treat each patience with care, and I've never felt rushed or ignored on any occasion. From very early on, they've taken the effort to get to know me by name, and it has been a pleasure to get to know these friendly folks also. Dr. Tachdjian is a well known expert in his field, but beyond that, he also has a passion for helping children through his non-profit organization: Children's Music Fund, which is "dedicated to bringing music therapy into the lives of sick children to help overcome pain, fear, and anxiety." His care for patients is also reflected by his staff, who all help to make this office a really welcome place to be while taking care of your allergy needs. I have been a patient of Dr. Tachdjian's for over 3 years. As a patient with an incredibly rare condition, Hereditary Angioedema Type 3, my options have been slim and the road has been long. I first met him when he came to visit me after yet another attack requiring me to be hospitalized for my condition. At this time I knew nothing of the medicines available for HAE patients and neither did any of the doctors I saw from Cornell in NYC to UCLA to Scripps in San Diego. I was a mystery and each episode caused a longer hospital stay and unnecessary surgeries. Dr. Tachdjian helped me to find medication to control the onset of these attacks that now at the onset of an attack, within an hour I am done, eventually stopping the need for overnight hospital stays. He helped me accomplish ways to travel, which was not possible before, he even spoke to my doctors in Cuba from California through a translator to help ensure I was getting the right treatment in a hospital in Havana. He goes above and beyond what any other doctor I have ever seen for HAE has done, not that other doctors haven't tried because they have, but no one has the extensive knowledge and expertise in rare conditions and for me, for HAE. No matter what insurance change I always ensured he was my Doctor. It has been a little over 3 1/2 years since I started seeing him and I am HAE attack free, no more hospital visits and now even self-infusing HAEGARDA, my work is back on track, I can travel, and all HAE free. I would never have had this much of a life-altering change without his expertise and direction in my care. Dr. Raffi is lovely. Very caring and kind. But way too busy. He ordered blood tests that unfortunately indicated I have a serious condition ... the only way I know this is that I accessed the test results on my own and took them to someone else after several calls to Dr. Raffi's office went unanswered. When I finally spoke with one of the office staff, the most urgent item she wanted to discuss was my understanding that any communication, including a video call, would necessitate a co-pay. Seriously?! The doctor ordered tests for me (which indicated concerning results) and never followed up, and that's the most pressing matter to discuss? I was so upset about her cavalier indifference that I decided to cancel the video call. I have no idea if Dr. Raffi even looked at those test results as I never heard from them again. You really do have to be your own health advocate; no one, not even a kind physician, really cares about you or your family. They simply don't have the bandwidth. read more

Literally is withholding my serum ingredients to transfer to another allergist so I will have to pay 100 dollars to ship it every time I need new vials for maintenance shots. I am quite curious to know why it is the office policy to not share my vial information at least with me. He was very thorough and looked at my symptoms systemically which was a first with regard to the approach oh previous allergists. I'd suffered from allergy and chronic sinusitis for over 15 years and had tried everything, and I mean everything, but nothing helped. I used traditional, western, and homeopathic medicine. I tried acupuncture and even had surgery, but my headaches only got worse and worse, so bad I dreaded waking up in the morning. Usually I go to UCLA for all my medical needs but after trying to make an appointment with one of their allergists and only getting an appointment months later I decided to try Dr. Raffi. I called and got an appointment just a few days later. There is a parking garage right by his office and also lots of metered parking. I chose to park on the street - 2 hour max and cost $2, worked out perfectly! Spoke with the medical assistant and the doctor and asked to have testing done to see what I was allergic to. I have been sneezing on and off for years and I finally decided to get some answers. They did allergy testing on me. The back scratch test was not bothersome at all. The needles into the arms were not too bad either, although I did need to take a water break once. The whole appointment took just under 2 hours and I finally found out what I was allergic to. Next up I will be trying to keep my allergens away from me but if it doesn't work I'll definitely be back for allergy shots to handle this once and for all. read more

First off, I've never written a review on Yelp before. This is my first. I felt compelled to do it because my experience was so positive. So, here we go... It started with a cough that wouldn't go away. Then it became wheezing and breathing problems. And even pain in my lungs. (I was a runner. And then suddenly, I could barely walk up a flight of stairs without my lungs getting irritated.) My primary doctor gave me antibiotics, medications and breathing treatments. But when the problem still didn't go away after three months, I went in to see Dr. Tachdjian. He and his staff spent two full hours with me - asking questions, doing breathing tests, etc. I came out of that visit not only learning the real problem. But also with a treatment that had me running again after just two days and feeling a million times better in a week. I wish I had gone in sooner. And the best part was, Dr. Tachdjian takes a holistic approach. He prescribed meds. But his whole philosophy was to only take the meds that were absolutely necessary. And in a time where it seems like there's a drug for everything, that was refreshing. read more

Raffi is great. I know he's an allergist, but he's done two amazing things non-allergy related: 1) he cured my chronic cough, and 2) diagnosed the source of the terrible blisters on my knee following knee surgery. Re: the cough: I'd been having an annoying cough that waxed and waned for years. I was being treated by different doctors for asthma, acid reflux, and allergies, any one of which could be causing the cough. But none of the treatments got rid of it for long. One day I noticed that I didn't cough when I was working out at the gym. Since he's really good at solving puzzles, I thought I'd see if he could figure out my cough. He thought it could have something to do with my parasympathetic nervous system. He put me on gabapentin, and within a couple of months, my cough was gone! To be fair, my ENT, Dr. Amanda Salvado also suggested the gabapentin. I give credit to both of them. As for the blisters on my knee following surgery for a torn meniscus, my surgeon was sure it was an allergic reaction and he sent me to Raffi to figure out what I was allergic to. When the tests came back negative, he listened to my story (apparently, the assistant who interviewed me didn't pass on the most relevant piece of information) and immediately concluded that they were friction burns caused by the rubbing of the bandage (which had slipped down) while doing the exercises the surgeon gave me post-surgery. Anyway, all this is to say that Raffi is great at thinking outside the box and listens to the whole story to figure out a problem. He's also a very fun and funny guy! read more

This rating is purely based on the initial "consult," if you will. I met with one of his staff member's who asked me a series of comprehensive questions about my lifestyle, environment, etc. Very thorough and I really liked the attention to detail ( I did not experience anything close to that with an allergist I saw a few years ago). In relation to my allergies to dander, pollen, etc, I brought up my lifelong issue with eczema. Dr. Tachdijan recommended some products and gave me some samples just like any other doctor. I've been on topical steroid creams per my dermatologist for a few year and although I use it quite sparingly, the use of steroids and it's long-term effects was always plaguing me. I was informed about the testing process and it's potential costs. I was grateful that the staff at the front-desk advise that in order to help with the costs, I could spread out my testing appointments. I left the office with a 2 testing appointments and a final go-over appointment with Dr. Tachdijan without any pressure. I truly appreciated the friendly staff and their use of technology. If you need to re-schedule, it's quite easy and the staff is again, very help in that regard. I also appreciate the patient portal- it saves lots of paper! My last thought is the parking. It cost me about $12 to park for a little over an hour in the St. John's medical structure. I know it's Santa Monica and it tends to be pricey so prepared for that. I work walking distance from the office so I plan on doing so for my next few visits. Plus, the vitamin d couldn't hurt. read more

Dr. Tachdijan is easily have been my 2nd choice (after Dr. Gellar in Santa Monica in the same building), of any allergist, on any day. Tachdijan has a great bedside manner, communicates like a human (versus some doctors), is up-to-date with the most recent studies and tech (modern), authentic, friendly. Dr. Gellar is a more seasoned allergist) who hired Tachdijan as a partner a decade ago to support his bursting business and eventually take over the already extremely successful practice. After years learning what made Gellar's practice work, Tachdijan left to open his own office only one floor up from Dr. Gellar's office. In the same building. Seems totally uncool to me, but you decide. read more

I felt like I was on a job interview but I just wanted an appointment. 2 1/2 month wait but the office wont call you if they have a cancelation even if my conditions is really urgent. I would have to call every Monday and check in. Ok... I had to give the receptionist the phone number for my insurance so they can verify, Ok... which I don't mind but she sounded very disappointed I had to put her on hold to find it and that I only had the member service number. Isn't this something the billing office does all the time? Again, OK but then they want to have my credit card on file? in case I miss an appointment so they can charge me? I don't know, maybe I am just feeling really sick and didn't have the patience but I have never had a doctor wanting a credit card on file. read more

We was very thorough, courteous and gentle. His office was very efficient and the visit ran in a punctual manner. Four other allergists told me they couldn't give me allergy shots because I was too allergic and they were afraid I would die in their waiting rooms from anaphylaxis. Not Dr Tachdjian. I am half way through my series of allergy shots and have not had anaphylaxis or any severe allergic reaction. I couldn't be happier. I am looking forward to spring and summer now. read more

I've had three experiences with this office, and at each visit I felt like a part in an assembly line. They seem to have a problem with overbooking, which at least for me led to long waits and distracted attention when I finally did see him. The last time I was there, I waited a bit over an hour after my appointment time before being shown into a room. There I waited another while until talking to an assistant (the staff is generally very nice). When the doctor came in, I started describing things and after less than a minute he interrupted, "Is this going to take a long time?" He wanted to see another patient before finishing with me. The assistant seemed embarrassed. I was moved to another room where I waited again. Finally, the upshot of my visit was learned advice such as "you have to go with your gut; if you think it's mango, avoid mango". Of course, I tried to go to an allergist so I wouldn't have to go with my gut. I think he had already written me off because he thought my symptoms were from herpes, which they were not. It turned out I did have an urushiol allergy. The second star goes to the assistant who had an awkward, apologetic look on her face most of the time. read more

I have bad allergies and went to Dr Tachdjian to request shots . I had had them many years ago so I knew what I needed . I called my insurance to make sure I was covered and Dr Tachdijian was in network . Upon booking my appointment I was told that they requested $250 up front . A little unusual given I had met my deductible but i went with it . I met Dr Tachdjian for the initial consultation . Upon my next visit the receptionist handed me a form requesting $500 up front for allergy shots . She said the compound cost them $1600 to make . I explained that my insurance covered 90% the cost and that would be $160 and asked what the extra cost was . They said it was office policy . I called a couple of other allergists at UCLA and Cedars and both said that this was unheard of. It felt more like a car dealership move than a doctor . I canceled my appointment and saved myself $500 and hoping I get the $250 back. On another note , when I arrived for my second appointment DR Tachdjian I was not in the office that week . The Dr seemed very nice but thats not really the point .If I had known I would have rescheduled .. read more

Gamechanger. That is what I call Dr. Tachdjian. His intuitive and holistic approach has changed my life. I have suffered both from chronic sinus issues and muscle tension from an old injury in my shoulder. I typically resist going to see a doctor, as the same advice comes my way--Take antibiotics and steroids for your sinuses and avoid stress for your muscles. After finally giving in and making an appointment, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Dr. Tachdjian's response, "I have an idea ... are you open to something different?". That is when the game changed. I now see him regularly for Trigger Point Injections. The instant release was enough to make me a believer. Since then I have avoided sinus infections this year and have been exposed to the flu many times without getting sick myself. Beyond that, my shoulder has been "stuck" for over 15 years and has prevented me from going deeply into any sort of exercise practice. My shoulder now moves. Yoga has changed for me in ways I did not expect and my posture has improved. The physical and mental strength that has come from a seemingly simple treatment is something for which I will never be able to thank Dr. Tachdjian enough. His talent is a unique balance of mainstream medicine and a holistic approach. He really listens both to what you say and what your body tells him, finding the source of the discomfort with uncanny sense . He exudes kindness and compassion, while throwing in a few jokes that keep you laughing throughout the appointment.
