I was told the frame was actually broken and a new frame needed to be ordered. The glasses were given back and I was told I would hear from them within a week. On August 6th I called and was told the frames were not in. By this time one of the arms had fallen off and the other arm was hanging by a thread. On the 13th of August I called and, once again, the frames were not in. I no longer could wear the glasses as both arms had now fallen off. I was experiencing headaches from straining my eyes. Kathleen, the person I spoke to on the phone, suggested I come in to see what they could do for me. I went in and met with Leslie. She was a lifesaver! She searched for a suitable pair of frames that my lenses would fit into. I could use these while I waited for the new frames to arrive. It was a lengthy process but she eventually found a pair. Leslie assured me she would look into the whole situation and two days later I was back in and Leslie had my new frames. She quickly replaced the lenses and I was good to go. I can't thank Leslie enough for everything she did to rectify the problem. I was so impressed with her professional manner and her determination to turn a very negative situation into a positive outcome. It's individuals like Leslie that have customers returning to Bedford Eye Care. Catherine Spears

My son wears a noticeably thicker lens on the left-hand side; Vogue made sure we knew which glasses could accommodate this need, and also did their best to process the lens in a way that made it as thin as possible. I don't even notice the difference between the two lenses! Vogue's "Second Pair Free" policy is good across all locations, of course, and this store is no different. One thing you may not have known is that Vogue allows children (up to age 12) to defer their second pair for up to a year from purchase. This makes a big difference when the kiddos are at an age where their head is still growing. We were able to pick up a second pair for my son this March that fit him much better than the old pair. Of course, there's also the famous Vogue repair policy; when my son's glasses snapped across the nosepiece, Vogue ordered up a replacement on the spot. It took a few days to get the new frames in, of course, but not unreasonably so. I consider Vogue to be the destination spot for glasses, due to their policies and prices. The service at this location places them a little above the other stores I've frequented.

I've been putting off seeing the optometrist for years, and after finally breaking (it's getting…read moredifficult to read at school) I couldn't be happier with the service I recieved at Ocean. The staff were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, I even got to have a great eye conversation (I'm a neiroscience student) while looking at my eye exam photos. Very intelligent and friendly people! The price of the glasses themselves was a bit high; however, if I'm going to get glasses that I feel good about, quality is important! And Ocean has top quality frames and lenses. I'm a happy customer, and feel much better about the whole four-eyes transition!

On May 16, 2026, I had an eye appointment at Ocean Optometry. This was my first eye exam in 15…read moreyears. Examination noted I need glasses for reading, computer, and distance. I had my frame for glasses; therefore, would only need to buy one frame. I met with Ali Patton, Student Optician, for purchasing a new Coleman (Salt) frame and discussing options for both pair of glasses. I wanted a reading only lens so that I could enjoy reading without adjusting my gaze or the book. The second pair would be for computer and distance. Ali Patton agreed. Total cost for one new Frame and lenses for both glasses was $1522.74. In June, when the reading glasses came in, I was disappointed because when I moved my head up a bit, the image was not as clear. I was told you just have to get use to it. When I picked up the glasses in June for computer and distance, I met with Manager Alicia Austin. When I tried the glasses, the font on the computer and iPhone was very smaller. Smaller than the glasses I wore for 15 years. When looking for distance, I had to tilt my head down to see distance. Alicia advised me that computer and distance cannot be on the same lens. I advised her that is something the student optician should have known. Alicia said she will do Progressive lenses to correct the error. Approximately 60 days later, I still had not received the new lenses. Staff told me the lenses had not come in yet. Only to find out that Alisha had been out of office and no one was dealing with the issue. When Alicia got back to me, she stated she enlarged the lens. I met with her and the issue with the distance was corrected. However, the font was still small and there did not appear to be any progression in the lens. She enlarged the top part for distance where I no longer have to tip my head down to see in the distance. When she said she enlarged the top portion, there was no progression or change to lower portion. Again, I was advised to give them a try. I am using my reading glasses. However, the progressives are now basically only for distance, If I want to use the progressives (which I don't think they are progressives), on my computer or iPhone, I have to increase the text size on both. I called Alicia and expressed my concerns re lens not being strong enough. She said they check that sort of thing and they are the same. However, the lens on the reading glasses is thicker than the other pair. She said she could change the lens for computer only but I would not have the distance. I did not take her up on that offer because my glasses from 15 years ago are better than what they provided with two pairs of glasses. I also did not trust that Ocean Optometry could do the changes properly. I am extremely frustrated as my first appointment was on May 16th and picked up second pair on August 20th and still do not have proper glasses. I asked Alicia for my prescription so I could get a second opinion. She did not send them to me. So after three months of this, I have basically paid $1522.74 for reading glasses. This was the worse experience I ever encountered on a professional level. I did a deep dive into AI re negative reviews on Ocean Optometry, and I am not the only one who had an issue with lenses not improving vision. There were also other negative reviews. Based on my experience with Ocean Optometry, I cannot recommend them.

I called in to order some new contacts, my morning started off with me ripping my last pair...so I called to order a new box, I was informed it had been two years since my last eye exam and they could not do anything until I had an eye exam. I explained that I would be happy to do that, but wondering if I could just get one pair to tie me over till I could get in for an appointment. I was told NO, there was no discussion, they were not going to help me until I came in for my $120 eye exam, even though I have been purchasing contacts on a regular basis. I have been a customer there for over 10 years and thought that my loyalty would count for something, I was not looking for a freebie, wanted to order more contacts, make an appointment for an eye exam, and in the mean time needed a pair to get me through. I sent an email to them to explaining my disappointment in their lack of effort to help me, I have not heard a thing. I was not expecting wine and flowers, but maybe a follow up phone call to an upset customer.. that makes good business sense to me. It all worked out in the end, found a great new eye Dr who only charged $70 for the same appointment they charged $120, got my contacts, and I will be happy to spend my money there :) I do not recommend the Doctor's eye clinic, it is all about how much money they can make, not the patient! It's to bad they can't "see" what good customer service is about.
