There's plenty of open seating for a non-wake up experience so you don't have to waste money on it, and the seats are very comfortable and easy to clean, the place has a nice AC that's not cold but keeps the humidity away. And the owner is very nice. A plain slice is $3.50 and no minimum for credit card. The only thing I wish is much less thick of the dough. I prefer paper thin to enjoy the cheese more than the dough. And easier to eat when it's not thick. But overall this pizza is definitely one of my favorites in the Fords near Edison, Menlo Park and Woodbridge. You would never assume they would make excellent pizza since there are so many all over New Jersey.

I've been here twice so far, opting each time for a plain pie along with a pepperoni and red onion. I've loved the flavor of each, with the extra oven temp clearly drawing out the full blend of cheese and perfectly balanced sauce. One downside I've found is that the pizza doesn't reheat easily, as it's hard to replicate the crispy and juicy flavor you get straight out of the oven . The good news is that with the way they package the pies, they will keep in a box pretty well as you drive home and scarf down in the comfort of your own living room. The better news is that with this pizza, you won't have leftovers anyways. The only downside to this store is it's still new, and it will likely need to graduate from its current location. There are only about five tables, so it's truly a takeout spot, but it's on busy North Ave and there's no dedicated lot. If you're going, combine it with a CVS trip across the street and you can grab your pizza while parking comfortably there. Otherwise, try the side streets, but even there it's a bit dicey. If you aren't afraid of tricky parking, or the 5,000 calories you'll want to consume in one sitting, you've found your new pizza spot.

When I called, the manager offered either $5 off or to deliver the missing meat (which "could take a while"). I've been a loyal customer of Oakwood Pizza for years, but over the past year, I've noticed a decline in both quality and customer service. Calls are now answered with just a "hello," without even identifying the business. The last time we ordered, the wings were overcooked and dry, and now this. It's disheartening to see a local restaurant, one that's been part of our community for so long lose sight of what made people support them in the first place: great food and genuine service. As local businesses struggle to stay open, I truly hoped Oakwood Pizza would rise to the occasion, not fall behind. Sadly, after this experience and the rudeness shown today, I can no longer support this establishment. I always try to root for small businesses, but respect and care for customers should never be optional.
