I love this place! I have brought Lucy here twice now and both of us have enjoyed it very much each time. Once I went on a weekend day and it was pretty busy, but the trails were still walkable. The next time was a Monday mid day and the place was empty and so quiet! The views are awesome and the dogs love all the open space to run around. My dog also likes to run through the little streams of water and get as dirty as possible. It's a great workout for both of us and it's worth the quick trip from Denver. Evergreen is a cute little town to check out after or before your adventure as well! There is plenty of parking on each side. All around a great time for dogs and humans alike! read more

Awesome doggy park in beautiful Evergreen. Just like what Meghan M wrote as far as the fenced in areas except I took the loop in and out of the place and theres plenty of fresh stream water for the dogs to drink and cool off in :o) On a Sunday morning parking was at a premium but it is well worth the drive for you and your dogs. Took a hike with our daughter's new pup. Park offered various trail with different degrees of difficulty. Many bikers were traversing terrain. A lot of pets with their owners. Disappointed in there were not many open areas with views. read more

Great Off leash area! Love that it's not just a square fenced in dog park--it's actually a very good hike. We have been 3 times now. First time in the summer and there was plenty of shade and pups got the play in the creek. Creek is very shallow, not great for a retriever who loves to swim. Next time was in November after Evergreen got a few inches the previous day. It was amazing--all white. We went again the next weekend and a majority of the snow had melted and the trails were VERY icy. Slipped a few times, the stairs on the lower part of the trail are especially slippery. Make sure you have proper shoes if you go in the winter!! read more

This place used to be beautiful, but now is beaten down and contaminated with dog poop. By the way, the creek full of ecoli, runs directly into Evergreen Lake and everyone's drinking water supply. We stopped here for an afternoon on a cross-country trip with our two coonhounds. I am incredibly jealous of people and dogs who live close enough to visit frequently. For a desert-dwelling human whose dogs LOVE to run but can't be trusted off-leash, this park is my ultimate fantasy. Fully fenced. Trees! Meadow! It's awesome. We were a little worried that the hounds would jump the fence if they saw a squirrel on the outside, but, luckily, there were enough smells inside the fenced area to keep them distracted. Can't wait to visit again on vacation next summer. read more

Best dog park ever. It's basically an open forest that is off-leash. My dog LOVED it but I probably loved it more. Unlike typical dog parks, which are essentially open dirt lots, this is actually an open wilderness with trails. The hiking here is awesome- the hike to Bergen Peak is aprox. 4 hours but the views are worth it. It's a pretty easy hike. I like the meadow view trail for a short hike. There are a lot of mountain bikers on this trail so make sure you don't have music too loud to hear them coming up behind you. My husband loves to ride his mountain bike to the top. There is an open space off dog leash park off of Stagecoach and it's pretty busy. There are lots of trails and sometimes the Elk herds hang out in the meadow. I am glad we have a lot of beautiful hiking trails in Evergreen. It's a beautiful open space park with meadow and trees. read more

Love this park! Its close to Evergreen, has lots of parking and a variety of trails you can make into loops rather than out and backs. We've been there for biking and hiking. Biking down Elk Ridge is a lot of fun - it doesn't look steep but you can really fly! Weekends are busy. Overall, a great place to hike, bike or run...plus there is an off leash dog park across the road! read more

I love this place and my sweet 13 month old Swissy loves it too. Today was our 3rd time there and he was attacked by what looked like an Irish Wolfhound. My guy is super gentle and loves all dogs and all people. Why oh why do people with aggressive dogs not leave dog parks for dogs that behave? Anyway, he'll be okay but I am sure this is going to result in a substantial vet bill. I don't know if I will go here again but word to the wise - don't assume all the dogs are friendly. read more

This is the best dog park I have ever been to! With all of the different trails offered it allows you and your pup to walk, hike and explore together. Would absolutely recommend this if you have a dog that loves the mountains. Note: There are areas that aren't completely fenced in so be careful if you have a dog that might wander! read more

My dog is happiest when she's running through the Elk Meadow trails. The off-leash area is great and surprisingly large. There are even some big boulders you can climb on, and beautiful views. It's hard to believe how close it is to the city. Part of it is wheelchair accessible. There are great leash-only trails as well, however expect to share those with bikers and people who aren't as into dogs. read more

For a person that has been to several dog parks in the Denver Metro area this is by far the best one I have ever been to. There is several enclosed areas for your dog to run around in and then there are shorter trail loops to go on. That area is open but we walked to the edge of the park and there is a boarder fence. ( it defiantly won't stop a dog that will keep running but it lets you know where the park ends). There is no water source so bring water if your in the enclosed dog area. There is a creek in the middle of the park if you forget. read more

This is a WARNING post. My husky went after a mountain lion today. He is fine and was no match for keeping up with it, but I was shocked when I saw it in the park, just off a trail I take often. Small dog owners keep an eye out! With that said, I love this park and my dogs love it too. read more
