I recently got some new glasses after 10 years. From the very beginning, Dr. Ng, was very transparent! He told me what was really wrong with my vision and made every effort to make sure I was seeing clearer than before. After my exam, we sat down to pick out styles and he hit the nail right on the head. I showed him some Ray Ban glasses similar to the one I was using and he got me a collection that was so hard to choose from because they were all SOOOOOOO GOOD!!!! As an interior designer this caught me off guard, in a good way, because I didn't expect to be shown so many great options. We ended up with some Calvin Klein glasses, with gold trim and tortoise accents. Some really nice set of glasses. Although he hooked up with transitions, blue light blocking, and anti glare properties, I was having issued with seeing color accurately. As an Interior designer seeing materials in true color is very important! So, I reached out again to see what we can do and he was able to resolve the issue within 30 minutes. I am now waiting to pick up my glasses this coming Monday! Dr. Ng, is not only very observant and a problem solver, he is kind, accommodating, but most of the most honest and down to earth Dr. I have had. The optometrist collects antique gear which they keep in their office, they took the time to get it perfect. The lobby is great the even had Howl's Moving Castle playing, anyone that respect studio Gibli's best work gets bonus points in my book. If I could give 6 stars I would. I finally have an optometrist that I like. And it's Russell Ng, OD, at Elkhorn Family Optometry. For two years in a row I've needed to make a last minute annual eye exam appointment. Both times I called several offices. Most don't answer the phone or they're unwilling to put me on a waiting list. Not the case here. Elona was calm and friendly when I called their office. She had a cancelation to offer me the moment I finished asking. I arrived a couple of days later to find the practice is in a strip mall - Safeway, Starbucks, McDonald's, etc. Felt unusual for me, but I ran with it. I'm very glad I did. The staff and Dr. Ng were patient and helpful. Dr. Ng had the right energy and he was able to relate to me. He helped me understand my vision and select the best single vision Rx (we deal with many distances - driving, enjoying hobbies, reading, computer, etc). He also gave me the info and confidence that none other has given, for me to finally decide to do the eye dilation for a full exam. The aspect that sealed the deal for me, Lolita - both helpful and patient - gave me a card for an appointment they made for me in one year. She shared they'll contact me a few weeks before and I can keep the appointment or change/cancel if needed. Yey! They care and they want to continue to "see me" at their office. This office is extraordinary. A patient may have a slight wait as the doctor takes the time to go over the initial exam given by the assistant before the exam for your prescription. He takes the time to ensure his patients understand everything and doesn't rush through the prescription part of the eye exam. I wear bifocals and he took the time to test the bifocal part so my lenses would be correct. There are other eye doctors that no longer do this. The office assistants are welcoming, courteous and experienced. The person who greeted me immediately stated I would have a slight wait, explaining that the doctor was finishing another patient. Once I completed my paperwork, another young lady gave me initial eye tests on several machines, explaining why each one was given and if there were additional costs. The other young lady who helped me choose what type of lenses I wanted was patient by explaining pricing and my options. The care and respect given is exemplary. read more
