We will NEVER do that again. If we had not paid in full in advance we would have left. We stayed 3 nights. Each night we were moved to a different room (suggested by the host) for a more enhanced experience. Every room, every room was so dirty. Every bathroom was dirty. (It is a good thing we weren't given a tour of the kitchen.) Dessert was served every night -- don't be late. We were arriving later -- the host made reservations down the road for dinner for us -- she told us to save room for dessert and be back by 9 pm. --- we learned later that her "normal" dessert serving time was 8:30 -- the host never said to the other guests that she told us 9 pm -- we were harassed every night and every morning about it. This was not a comfortable, romantic, calm get-away. It is very stressful and we regret the choice. The breakfasts were good -- but very, very cramped for space. If we received 3 more nights for free at this location -- we wouldn't go. No way! Please pay attention to other's reviews -- check trip advisor and such. Please -- it is all explained better and truly accurate.

LaRose Wellness Retreat, hosted by Cheryl LaRose, passed both the safety and comfort test with flying colors! Cheryl was genuinely kind, and shared her attention equally amongst all the couples staying that weekend. Yay for human equality! Obviously, Cheryl is a wonderful hostess -- just a genuine human being! Staying with her really did feel like being at home (if home was on a beautiful lake with kayaks, a hot tub, and organic chocolate chip cookies available at all times). Our room had the touch of an interior designer. The decor is a harmonious blend of Scandinavian Modernity (a nod to the Scandinavian history in the area) with Old Country Charm. Her place is located close to downtown L'anse. You definitely can run around visiting all the attractions (waterfalls, hiking trails, Copper Harbor) or you can eat your weight in fresh fish and custard at all the mom n' pop restaurants. Your last option is to bring a book and alternate between reading in the hammock overlooking Lake Superior and reading in the hot tub like I did. Breakfast was a plethora of options (granola, strawberries/blueberries/mango and more fruit, coffee, boiled eggs, bread and jam, gluten free options, cold cereal fixings, and homemade peanut butter zucchini muffins to name a few). Her dog, Peaches, is a lover! No lint roller needed as she doesn't shed, and she smells just like an indoor dog should...odorless! Support Cheryl -- you will enjoy your stay. Peace and Love!
