This an old-school roadside motel, where the only thing thinner than the walls are the pillows…read more Those who are expecting a more modern hotel room will likely be disappointed when they unlock their room with an actual key and walk in for the night. However, it has some modern amenities like AC, a tv, mini fridge, and microwave, and, although worn, was clean. Signs of aging show in the carpets, fixtures, and one of our towels, but the lady at the front desk was very nice and quick to respond to our requests for extra towels. The shower was hot (until my kids used all the hot water up), bathroom and bedding was clean, and we got a pretty good sleep. There's also a 24-hour diner where you can grab some food if you're coming in late or leaving early. For those with managed expectations, or if you're too cheap to pay $125 per night for a Motel 6 in town, this was a good stay for my family. The guy I checked in with was EXTREMELY rude and mean. The parking lot was full of sleazy looking dudes just hanging out, drinking and who knows what else (probably tweaking from the looks of it). The room door was the quality of an internal bedroom door, like hollow core with no sturdiness. There was no deadbolt, only a lock like you may use on an internal door in your home, and a flimsy chain. The window didn't lock and had a tiny wooden dowel for a "security bar". I was so scared and intimidated, but I was exhausted from a nearly 12 hour day on the road. I texted my family where I was at, prayed for my safety and slept very poorly because of the unwelcoming vibes and lack of a secure door. I couldn't get out of this place fast enough!
