My issue was with a follow-up visit for an initial visit that was misdiagnosed. Spent about 5 minutes with a PA and told to go to a hand surgeon and was subsequently charged $200, of which insurance paid $121. I think that charge is ridiculous based on the previous visit. They're managed by a NYC based company that has poor customer service.

First, the…read moreonly positive: their admin staff (call center and receptionists, especially the call center supervisor Jamie) were kind, responsive and generally helpful. The clinical staff (PAs, Medical Records) could not have been less helpful. I have a hearing impairment and I use an assistive microphone. The first PA I saw, Alexa McSorley, whipped into the room and talked so fast that, even with my microphone, I could not understand her. I left having no idea what she had said or recommended. So I went back and saw Stephanie Carlino. Her rate of speech was better, so I could understand her, but there were definitely no warm-and-fuzzies. I have a difficult-to-diagnose problem, and neither of them showed any curiosity about it. It felt like they were using a generic protocol, a checklist, rather than listening to me. I convinced Stephanie to do a biopsy of one of several areas on my body that have the problem. When it came back with no definitive diagnosis, her suggestions for treatment, such as they were, included a drug I had told her specifically and the practice in general that I am allergic to. So now, on top of feeling dismissed, I felt unsafe. I decided to get a 2nd opinion elsewhere. But their Medical Records department only accepts Release of Information forms by fax. Who has a fax in their home??? I certainly don't. I ended up having the 2nd doctor's office fax my form over to them. If you have a problem that doesn't fall into a neat diagnostic category, definitely don't go there. Save yourself the stress, time, and money you would be wasting. There is something seriously wrong when a medical office's admin staff is kinder than its clinical staff.

1-Star Review I had an extremely disappointing experience…read morewith Sunwise Dermatology in Middletown. What should have been a professional and respectful patient experience instead left me feeling uncomfortable, disrespected, and extremely frustrated. I experienced what I consider to be unprofessional behavior and harassment, and I was particularly disturbed by what I believe were inaccurate and misleading statements made regarding my care and interactions with the office. As a patient, I expect honesty, professionalism, appropriate communication, and basic respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I should not have had to question whether I was being given accurate information or feel as though I was being treated in an inappropriate manner for simply trying to advocate for myself as a patient. The way this situation was handled completely damaged my trust in the practice. Medical offices have an obligation to communicate honestly and treat patients with dignity, even when there is a disagreement or difficult situation. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Sunwise Dermatology to others. I hope the practice takes situations like this seriously and takes steps to ensure that other patients do not leave feeling the way I did.

They listened to me, made expert diagnosis, and provided a very high level of care. They run a very efficient operation and I have been impressed with their competency. I don't mind it, but I can see how many in today's world would view it as bad customer service. But we are not paying to make friends we need a service. He is friendly though don't get me wrong. The office still operates like it's 1985. Cash and checks only no debit or credit so come prepared. But once you know you know. He has many many years of experience and is able to diagnose with a few short questions and a quick look. As far as the lady saying she was a minute late and was turned away I find that untrue. She was probably like 10 minutes late. Many reviews state he is ALWAYS on time and this is true. But he's always on time because he does not let those who are consistently late make him run behind and that's how it should be. I've been a minute or two late and was always seen. Highly recommend if you're looking for a dermatological service with someone very experienced.

Dr. Bonder saw it and immediately recognized it and started treatment. His appointments always only last about 3 minutes. If you get there early, he will see you early. He's really the only doctor I've seen to ever be on time/early for appointments. CONS - At my son's first appointment, he would not see my son because I did not have cash or checks. They do not accept cards for bills under $30. I even volunteered to go to the ATM across the street or for them to bill me, but no dice. His receptionist would not budge. I had to reschedule, even after driving over an hour to get there. That was the first of three times I had to reschedule appointments. My son was scheduled for regular follow-ups for this issue every couple of weeks. Of 4 follow-up attempts, we were only able to be seen twice. If you are even a minute late, you will not be seen. His customer service is lacking and he makes no concessions for patients. As a commuter and mother of a small child, I cannot take always control mishaps that cost an extra minute or two. I had to find another doctor.

There are not enough words to express how grateful I am for Dr. Alexis Home. She is truly one I'd of a kind. From the moment I walked into the office, she made me feel comfortable, heard, and respected. She never rushed me and took the time to answer every question, making sure I understood not only what she was recommending, but why. Her kindness, patience, professionalism, and genuine concern for me is evident in every interaction. You can tell that she truly cares about the people she treats, and that means so much to me. I've seen other dermatologists over the years, but none have measured up to the exceptional care I received from Dr. Home. I recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a dermatologist who combines expertise with compassion. Thank you, Dr. Home, for your outstanding care and for treating me with such dignity and respect. You are a true blessing, and I am incredibly grateful to have found you.

During one of my routine visits, they detected a melanoma at an early stage, allowing it to be taken care of successfully. I am grateful for their thoroughness and professionalism. One thing that has especially impressed me is the consistency of the care. When my longtime dermatologist, Dr. Byrne, went on leave, I was naturally a little concerned about seeing someone new. But when Dr. Holmes came in, she was every bit as professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough as Dr. Byrne. The entire staff deserves recognition. From the receptionists to the medical assistants to the physicians, everyone is welcoming, courteous, and genuinely caring. The office is spotless, well organized, and runs efficiently. It is not often you can say that a visit to the dermatologist is enjoyable, but that is exactly how I feel about Ringpfeil Advanced Dermatology. If you are looking for outstanding dermatologic care, I highly recommend them.
