I wish I knew that the medical profession would think for themselves and research multiple treatments and more holistic options, instead of just push the products and medicines who have the most aggressive sales reps. You know what I'm talking about. With that said, I went to see Dr Blank (dermatologist) for a definitive diagnoses for my boys who were showing symptoms of eczema. Dr Blank is ever so personable and has excellent hospital and teaching affiliations. She took such an interest in the boys and I never felt rushed. Had I known she was my nephews' dermatologist when I went to see her, I would have mentioned it. See first review by my sister below. Be that as it may, when I went to see my primary care physician, I, upon the suggestion of my sister (first reviewer Dr. Blank) requested a referral/ suggestion for a dermatologist because of my excessive sun exposure in my 20's. I was referred to Dr. Blank. As soon as I set foot in the waiting room, I recognized the couches (My father used to have the same one lol.) Anyway, the wait was not unbearable. During my exam, I was completely honest with her when I said that I would go into the sun with SPF 30 in addition to a tanning accelerator, AND (gasps) that I used the tanning salon three different summers. I told her that I had already stopped using tanning beds and that I will stop using the tanning accelerator. She recommended to me the appropriate SPF to use especially on my face ( thought SPF15 was enough). She thoroughly looked at my skin (at what I thought was sun spots) and as of now, I have nothing to worry about. When I mentioned a disease I was born with that affects the skin, she looked at my (non painful) growths with the utmost fascination. When I mentioned that my skin feels excessively dry, she asked what soap I use and gave me samples of something that should help as well as the name of a lotion that should help. She also recommended to stay out of direct sunlight and to wear a wide brimmed hat. I would like to agree with my sister's statement. Yes, Dr. Blank is very personable. When I used to go to the pool, one woman who I will just refer to as Icarus was very much so "a sun worshiper." Her skin was dark brown, and appeared to have a leathery texture. Note to self: do not become Icarus. I have a followup with Dr. Blank in one year. read more

As I pretty much expected, this doctor's office is mediocre at best. What I didn't expect, is how creepy and bizarre this place is. So, why did I come here? I was able to get an appointment right away, simple as that. When I arrived, it was a quiet, sun-soaked morning. The little birds were hopping across the lawn outside of the seemingly pleasant ranch-turned-doctor's office on the corner. All was well until I walked inside. When I entered the large office, a stuffy, wood-paneled waiting area with oversized plaid sofas, I wanted to leave. There wasn't a face to greet me as I entered the empty room - just silence. On the left side of the room, I noticed a few stairs leading up to a closed wooden door. The glass panel wall above, was entirely covered with signs about insurance payments and copays (all typed in caps). I approached the stairs and stood for a moment, waiting to see someone before walking further into the office, as I felt any indication that someone worked here would have been great. As I walked further in, I saw a woman sitting at a desk. With a slight frown, I was given paper work to fill out and asked for my insurance card. Before I sat down, I was told I would need to pay the copay. Most offices I've been to collect the copay after the visit. I understand if their policy is to collect it before but does it really need to be one of first things said to me when I walk in? Oh and its cash only for this antiquated office. During the visit, I was uncomfortable. Most doctors will try to be a little friendly or smile at first to make you feel welcome but that wasn't the case here. The doctor's monotone voice, robot-like mannerisms, and empty eyes made me want to run for the hills. Lucky for me though, I didn't have to because my first and only visit was over in under 5 minutes. If this was a Twilight Zone episode, we could title it "The Strange Dr. Blank." She seemed like she was in a real rush to go somewhere. Where? I'm not sure. This empty office was like a ghost town, but without the appeal and historic charm. read more

At the end of the day, Dr. Blank knows her stuff. To getting rid of my warts at age 5 to putting a rare skin condition in remission in my teen years when I had a team of doctors at Columbia floundering on what to do with me and unnecessary antibiotics... she saved me. Now at 33, still thorough when examining and listens. She may be abrupt but she does was a doctor is supposed to do, properly diagnose and treat. read more

The worst experience I have ever had with a doctor in my life! Dr. Blank was so rude, judgmental and condescending. She kept interrupting me, tried to rush me out of there and spoke to me like I was a complete moron. I am an esthetician, I have a very good understanding of skin and skin conditions as it is a requirement of my profession. I developed a rash of some sort under my breasts, she insisted I was allergic to latex from the strap in my bra and said just put a paper towel under it so it doesn't touch your skin. I do not have an allergy to latex. I wear latex gloves 5 days a week for work. There is also no latex in my bra. Then she told me it was algae and said she would give me a foam to put on it 2x a day. She repeatedly asked if I understood what foam was. She also made me undress in front of her. I have never been so uncomfortable with a doctor ever. When I left her office I went straight to my primary care doctor. He was in complete agreement with me. No latex allergy and he had no clue why she said anything about algae. My husband just spent 3 months with a skin condition that no one was able to diagnose or cure until we went to Dr. Ellen Blank. He saw another dermatologist, an allergist, an internist, and an acupuncturist. He was prescribed countless creams and medications and none of them worked. He was losing sleep itching all night long and losing hope of ever getting better. He was cured within one week of seeing her. We are so grateful and highly recommend her. read more

Stinky and old office, doctors seam very not friendly, makes you feel like you interrupting her, not impressed at all, will never come back.

Visit went fine but went it came time to do prior authorizations for the brand names they write for, they were not only not helpful but rude. I will be looking for a new doctor. read more
