Second layer of paint isn't an even coat
Justine B.

I really wanted to give this place a good review, but unfortunately I'm really disappointed with my manicure/pedicure. The staff was really nice, but the polish / application is like nothing I've seen before. I'm not sure if it has to do with the quality of the polish or the application technique, but the second layer of paint is bulky and uneven with the first layer of paint. I asked them to fix a couple nails, but it came out the same way even after "fixing" it. My toes came out the same way. The paint also started chipping the same day. The price range was also quite high ($70) even though it was a plain manicure/pedicure service. I've received organic manicure/pedicure services with fresh flower petals and fruit for $40 in NYC, so unfortunately I'm disappointed with my service at this location which was much more than that and included nothing extra. I would understand a higher price range if it was a more detailed service, but it wasn't.

I went to the Worthington location and I had a pedicure on Saturday and by Wednesday I had a huge fungal infection of my foot due to their dirty tubs. It is horrible !! Would not recommend at all!!

Receipt

Beware! This salon charges customers to remove their dip or gel polish as part of the new dip or gel application appointment. I can understand charging if this is the only service you receive. But I have never been charged for removal when I'm getting new dip (or gel). And this is not advertised. My receipt showed $50 dip powder $6 dip removal. So $56. With tax and tip = $70. End result is not all that great. My nail edges are sharp, not rounded. The pale pink color is turning yellow ‍. Super disappointed. Also, don't bother using the "contact us" link on their website. They don't reply. I thought I'd try this salon when in the Worthington area. I'll be going back to my regular salon where they will remove this dip at no extra charge, and apply new dip for a total of $48.

This was what I got

I honestly don't like giving places bad reviews but i am really disappointed for how much I payed. I payed abt $300s for 3 acrylic, 1 manicure. The 300$s was just the tip not even the cost of all the nails together, if your wondering why I have such a huge tip If I don't like them was because we were there past closing time so I went ahead and paid early while I was waiting for my family to get done. Also all of our nails popped off within a couple of days. I have social anxiety so asking for them to fix it/ go back and have them redo it is extremely hard for me. I feel bad because they seem like really nice people especially what I'm assuming is the manager. But overall I wouldn't recommend this nail salon.

Literally no one there. Employees were huddled in the back.

I was in desperate need of a manicure so I Yelped a nearby nail salon and this place seemed pretty good. I felt even more confident when my fathers wife recommend led it to me as well - without me mentioning I found this on Yelp earlier! The salon is tucked away on High Street, a really convenient location nearby other boutiques and places for dessert or lunch. Walking in, then place was utterly deserted. There was no life at all until suddenly all of the staff there this afternoon peaked out through the window in the back of the salon. They kept looking until one of them made their way out a few awkward moments later. As one of the girls walked over to the front desk she asked what service I would like. I requested a simple manicure to which she replied which one? I was confused and explained that I'd like a simple, standard manicure. The girl still didn't seem clear until it seemed to process through her mind and she asked me my name to sign me in. She seemed a bit grouchy or like she just did not want to be there, at all. I was a bit surprised she didn't list options of the different manicures they had, give me a spa menu or point to a sign. As I stood there she let me pick a color. They had gel and non-gel polishes from Essie, OPI and another brand I believe that I can't recall at the moment. The color range was great but there was an overwhelming amount of shimmery shades. I ended up with Essie's Chinchilly. When I picked the color, another girl, who was my manicurist Erin, came out with fresh tools and s towel. Before I sat down, she asked that I washed my hands (fair enough!), mumbled something else then finally introduced herself by name. When I did sit down, it was a kind of awkward, shy silence. Not the kind of silence where in New York City (where I'm from) you and the manicurist are in agreement that the both of you want to be anti-social. Eventually, Erin asked me the standard how are you, ready for the holidays and isn't this weather crazy? questions. Interestingly enough, no water was used. Which I read somewhere was the more sanitary way to do nails. I already saw how clean the salon was, the equipment was new as it came out of a sealed bag and I just washed my hands. This was really amazing and a rarity in nail salons. Erin took her time and was very delicate. She offered about four different oils for me to choose from (I went with lavender) and very lightly massaged my hands. I was in an accident recently so that was fine but STILL. That's the best part of the manicure! Although Erin was careful and took her time applying the process and asked how my nails looked I still wasn't that thrilled. She wasn't too detail oriented, it seemed very blah and my cuticles weren't touched so I stayed dried and unkempt. She gave me the option to pay pre-polish or post-manicure when my nails were fully dried. I paid first and as I was about to add tip, I realized tips were in cash only. I thought there was no sign so I suggested they have one up. The seemingly grouchy girl from before said they had one. And she was right. It was in a corner out of view with the font not nearly large or bold enough for anyone to see. So basically I had to delay part of my day to find an ATM to tip this girl. That was pretty annoying esp when the manicure was $20 dollars. Not even worth it. After the polish, she asked if I wanted to be spritzed with quick dry spray. I said yes and was amazed that they didn't charge extra for it. Their services seem fairly quick - esp pedicures. One woman came in as I was having my polish put on and she was done as they dried. The staff was decent about checking on the nail drying process too. Even though everything seemed to be ok and the salon was very sanitary. It wasn't the greatest since no one offered me a 10% off first time client or beverages per the other Yelp reviews and menu/tea in the front of the store. If that was self service it wasn't clear since it was behind the desk. The overall glacial pace and cold atmosphere just didn't do it for me. Whenever I'm back in Columbus I'll only be back if it's an emergency.

Hard to figure out a way to get an appointment here. Called and left messages for several days with no call back.

Not your typical "nail salon mill" where thy try to get you in and out. I had a pedi, mani, and waxing and she did an awesome job. I must say this.... This salon is pretty clean!! She uses a new nail file and buffer for every customer - and you get to take it home!!! I do recommend an appointment. Not sure if walk-ins are accepted. Also, check their website for weekday specials (I got a plain pedi, gel mani, an eyebrow wax all for less than $70). I live in Florida but this is my new go to place to get pampered.

She is a very sweet lady, and I've been to her salon several times since last year (2017). When I initially started to going, my gel manis would last about 10 days. But I ventured out during that time to other salons, and had such phenomenal experiences, specifically at W Nail Bar. Because of that, I'm now noticing how poor Christy's nail services are. She's rushing and not using good equipment. My last mani with Christy was just 8 days ago, and the appointment only lasted 25 minutes. My gel manis at W Nail Bar usually last 3 weeks. But my gel mani with Christy started to chip in 5 days and the polish application was very lumpy and even on my cuticles! The only thing this place has going for itself outside of Christy herself are the cheap prices. But your nails come out looking cheap, so the price isn't even worth it! I'm sad to say I will no longer be a customer of Christy's. The quality of the gel manis are just too poor.
