I am happy that everything turned out even better than I expected. I am thrilled to have found a new OB/GYN, one that treats me with compassion and courtesy. I am a veteran, and sometimes veterans do need a little extra care due to PTSD. I would encourage anyone who has had a previous bad experience to give Dr. Mondragon a try.

We chose this practice despite the fact we were going be delivering in the middle of winter. We chose this practice despite the fact that gas was $5 a gallon (at the time). It was important for us to have a midwife delivery, and the way Dr. Sattar's practice is structured, with 3 nurse-midwives on staff (and one always on call) we felt very comfortable there. All the nurse-midwives were great. We met with them extensively, and would have been comfortable if any of them had come to the hospital for the delivery. They deliver at Belleview, which we really liked as well. Jaime came early in the delivery to check in on us and Rebecca came for the final phases of labor. My wife thought Rebecca was awesome (Jaime was awesome too). Sure, we had some scheduling difficulty through the process. And the appointments sometimes got backed up. The offices, especially the waiting area, could use some sprucing up, but I was never concerned that the office was unsanitary. The nurse-midwives also offer a couple of classes. We went to the first one, which was a great update on the process, that included all the new best-practices that have been discovered since the birth of our first child. Who knew that so much could change in 4 years? If despite our best efforts to remain un-pregnant for the next few years, we discover a fetus growing inside my wife, more than likely we'll be making the regular trek back to Schenectady to visit our favorite nurse-midwives in the area.

My husband and I were planning a home birth with our fabulous midwife Michelle Doyle and nearing the finish line. Her only concern was with the fact that I had a number of fibroids that *might have* predisposed me to unusual bleeding after the birth, so she wanted me to have an additional ultrasound and consult with an ob/gyn. Dr. Sattar was her pick because she felt he was the best person to offer me the type of birth I wanted in the event a home birth was inadvisable. In other words, he stands in sharp contrast to the intervention-happy, fear-mongering American standard. As soon as he walked into the room, my husband and I felt at ease. He is humble, thorough, and obviously impeccably-trained. He spoke to us like the bright and capable people we are and never seemed rushed or annoyed by our questions. He looked over our file carefully while we sat there and asked us pertinent questions. (Imagine!) And, next to my midwife, he gave me the gentlest pelvic exam I've ever had. At the end of our conversation and my exam, he basically said, "you'll be fine, go home and have a wonderful birth." On the way out his receptionist (whom I believe is his daughter) asked us to send them a picture after the birth. His waiting room is filled with pictures of his patients, and I really believe that this is why he practices-because he loves women and babies. If only I could say that about some of the other doctors I've seen! Anyway, if I ever need additional obstetrical/gynecological care in the Capital Region, Dr. Sattar is my pick. *I should add that he has multiple midwives in his practice, so if home birth is not for you, but you prefer the midwifery model of care, his office is definitely worth checking out. I was referred to CareNet, so I didn't read reviews before making my first appointment, and after reading the reviews I was pretty surprised. I have nothing but good things to say about my CareNet experience, and while I provided some of this feedback directly to the physician, I want to put it out there for other review readers. My prenatal office experience was good, regardless of the doctor I saw or office I visited. CareNet has many doctors, and I believe there is someone for everyone (unless you want a man). All different personalities, ages, ethnicities... whatever criteria you find important, I imagine you can find a doctor at CareNet. When you're pregnant you try to see all doctors, because you get the doctor on call for delivery. I enjoyed all doctors in different ways. I was always checked in and seen promptly, and treated with care and respect. My postnatal office experience was equally good, with PAs who were happy to help out this breastfeeding mom with carrying car seats, holding the baby during weigh ins, giving time to feed on demand, and even encouraging holding during exams. My labor and delivery and recovery at Bellevue was great! After such an experience, I wouldn't want to have a baby anywhere else, with any other group. Dr. Piraino was the doctor on call that day. The universe has ways of working I guess - she was exactly what I needed that day. She was calm and directing, and encouraging. She made eye contact with me, and engaged my husband in the process. She checked on me the following two days, and made sure I was physically comfortable and comfortable transitioning from the hospital to home. I really cannot say enough good things. The office is extremely clean and nicely decorated. There is a TV in the waiting room, as well as bottled water for patients. Ultrasound technicians were amazing. So friendly and personable, and kept me informed during their scans. Even provided me with a disk of all ultrasound photos to update at each appointment. Both Dr. Burstyn and Fickies were wonderful. I saw them both throughout my pregnancy, and Dr. Fickies ended up being on call the day my water broke and performed my C-section. She has a very calm demeanor, but also seemed genuinely excited for us before and after delivery. Dr. Burstyn was at Bellevue every day checking up on me, making sure my incision was healing properly, and also checking up on my babies in the NICU. I cannot say enough great things about this practice, and will continue to visit their office for my annual OBGYN visits.

I never had an issue with PA Haley Decker, but ever since I've seen Dr. Elina Burstyn, all I've had is problems. She considers 120/80 (and close to) as high blood pressure even though it's considered normal. I even talked to my primary care doctor about my blood pressure, and my primary has no concerns at all. Elina Burstyn changed my birth control with no plan in place, changing it only on her opinion that she thought my blood pressure was high, never asking for my opinion or creating a plan to monitor my health. She never explained how the birth control she put me on would affect me. She talked in circles, not being able to explain questions when asked, and acted very offended and rude when asked questions that challenged her opinion or sought out more clarification. Do not go here; you don't deserve to be treated like this. Find a practice that will treat you with kindness, respect, and not medically gaslight you.

To Dr. Elaine Cheon-Lee, patients are just a source of money. She doesn't care about your health…read moreconcerns. Don't ask questions during your annual checkup. If you do she will charge extra. That's what happened to me. After Dr. Cheon-Lee did a quick routine examination, I asked her a question: Is there anything I should know or be aware of about entering menopause? I made it clear I am not interested in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) because of its side effects. I wanted to know if I should consider a bone density test or perhaps taking supplements. The doctor recommended a couple of OTC supplements and then brought up HRT. She started badgering me about trying a cream that she assured me has minimal side effects. I finally gave up and said OK just to get out of there. To my surprise I received a $130 bill for an "office visit". This was in addition to the $188 my insurance company paid for my annual women's health exam. When I reached out to Dr. Cheon-Lee I was told the hormone replacement therapy was not part of annual visit; therefore I was charged for an additional visit. She agreed the bill was unexpected and acknowledged I wasn't informed in advance there would be a charge. This came after I repeatedly told her I wasn't interested in HRT given its side effects for women with a medical history like mine. So CareNet patients, be wary about asking your doctor questions without also asking what it will cost for an answer. If you receive an unexpected charge, don't waste your time reaching out to your doctor or trying to discuss the issue with the management team. No one cares about patient satisfaction. Your concerns will be ignored. I filed a complaint with my insurance company, which said it will keep Dr. Cheon-Lee on its radar. I will pay this bogus bill, so it doesn't affect my credit report. But CareNet has gone downhill as shown by the number of 1-star reviews it now receives. My advice: Skip this place and go somewhere with honest doctors who listen to and care about their patients.

After trying to get in touch with her for 2 weeks because her NP never called to give me ultrasound results, I needed blood work ordered and I had concerns that my nuchal translucency was not scheduled appropriately, I was told she was "out of the office" does no one cover your patients when you're out? What if there's an emergency? Then she proceeded to tell me nuchal translucency scan and blood work is not completed until 16-18 weeks. NUCHAL TRANSLUCENCY MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO 14 WEEKS. Do not let her or the staff tell you any different. Anytime I called very understandably upset with the care they would tell me "You're pregnant and shouldn't be getting yourself worked up like this" and HANG UP. I decided then I'd be transferring to another practice. To which they gave me trouble every step of the way. They called to tell me they attempted to fax my records another OB 3 times and I would need to come get a physical copy and do it myself. When I asked them to fax the records to myself they told me no as I'd need to PAY for my own medical records. By this point my care has been delayed nearly 3 weeks. I call to tell them I'll be coming to pick up a physical copy of my records and I'd need my lab slip so I could get the appropriate blood work done to which they told me it's UNETHICAL for them to order labs for a patient who's planning to leave the practice since they "can't monitor it" and then told me they CANCELED any and all appointments even though I had not yet gotten established with a new OB. It's unethical to order bloodwork, but it's NOT unethical to deny a pregnant woman prenatal care? If I could give this practice 0 stars I would. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. If you are seeking rental care go literally ANYWHERE ELSE.

I am in my second pregnancy seeing Jen Iovinelli. Jen speaks to you like a human and will answer any and all questions that you have. The receptionists, Jen and Carrie, are always kind and efficient. You never feel like you are bothering them when you ask questions in person or call with questions. The assistants that bring you back for your appointments (usually Lisa) are friendly and genuinely care when they ask you how everything is going. If you are terrified of doctors like I am, going to a practice that isn't sterile hospital like was very important for me. (They have purple paint!)
