Our bartender, LT, was so much fun. Every drink was spot on. An espresso martini for my wife and a bold old fashioned for me. On top of that, LT clearly knows his stuff when it comes to both cocktails and bourbon knowledge. I added a 1oz neat pour of 12yr Weller. Let's just say this place is a Weller lover's dream. The owner is a huge Weller fan and keeps the lounge stocked with pretty much every bottle imaginable. Something that's nearly impossible to find in Greensboro. And then there's the showstopper: a Weller Millennium bottle sitting on display. At $600 for a 1oz pour, it's pure eye candy for me. I'll just admire it from one of the comfy couches or large chairs and keep my wallet happy. Whenever we're looking for a classy evening out in downtown Greensboro, Muddle will be our first stop every time.

Only the hakka noodles (not always an Indian buffet staple) and butter chicken (better than average) really stood out. Nothing else, from the tandoori chicken to the daal to the naan, was prepared poorly, but it was fairly forgettable. Granted, buffet food needs to appeal to a wide range of diners with varying levels of spice tolerance, and so I went in not expecting any heat. Take spiciness out of the equation, however, and the flavors still felt subdued. At least the $20 seemed reasonable for what was offered. It's possible that Noor really shines if you order off the regular menu, and so I wouldn't rule out a return here. The next time I want a weekend lunch buffet, however, I think I'll stick to Taaza.

A great touch at the end though. The owner came by and asked if we wanted any dessert. We both said we were stuffed and couldn't put down any more food, which we really were. He insisted on bringing us something small. And boy were we pleasantly surprised. He brought over Gulab Jamun (milk powder fried soft balls soaked in honey and cardamom syrup). Man these were tasty! When we initially went to get drinks, she seemed very selective about who she wanted to serve. She spent a significant amount of time talking with people she appeared to know personally, while other customers were waiting. There were also instances where people who came after us were served before we were. We weren't expecting special treatment--we simply wanted to be served in a fair and reasonable order. The interaction became even more uncomfortable when we returned to close our tab. The bartender largely ignored us, asked us questions in a very rude and dismissive manner, and had facial expressions and body language that made it very clear that she did not seem interested in helping us. The issue wasn't that she was busy; we understand that bartenders can get overwhelmed when a venue is crowded. It was the attitude and the way we were treated throughout the interaction that stood out. I want to emphasize that this review is specifically about the customer service we received from this particular bartender, not the entire establishment. The rooftop, music, DJ, views, seating, and overall atmosphere were enjoyable, and our group otherwise had a good night. However, when someone is representing a business directly to customers, the way they communicate and treat people matters. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and looks into the service experience on the second floor, because the rest of the venue has a lot going for it.

The staff was so welcoming and empathetic. They immediately brought us towels to dry off and even brought me a blanket! They also gave us some complimentary champagne for our anniversary. Our waitress, Delaney (I hope I'm spelling that right!), was wonderful and even took the time to make me a custom off-menu martini. And then there was the food. We started with the raw oysters, which were half price for happy hour and came with a chili sauce that will now make every other oyster slightly disappointing. I had the bacon cheeseburger, and my partner had the pork belly cacio e pepe, which was fantastic. At the end of the meal, they surprised us with complimentary olive oil cake and more bubbly for our anniversary. What could have easily been a miserable evening ended up being such a great anniversary dinner. The entire staff went above and beyond for us, and the hospitality really stood out.
