Went on a Friday night with my friend to enjoy a long evening chatting and catching up and eating excellent food. We got both, the server was so kind and friendly. Encouraging us to enjoy our time and the food. She was also attentive to our needs as well. The owner did seat us and we enjoyed our chat with him as well. The menu looked so good and we wanted to try everything but we decided to share a few items and the dessert flight. And were we so glad we did. Everything was divine. So good. So delicious. So wonderful. It was food I couldn't eat with my husband but it was perfect for me and my friend. It was a wonderful evening and I can't wait to do it again.

Lovely bar selection. The bartender looks like he knows what he's doing.

I've been here a couple of times and everything is always so good. I had sea bass the last go around and it was so very delicious. I also loved the beet salad and I he desert was delicious! Previously, my husband had their burger and it looks awesome as well! If you're feeling generous, you can buy the staff a round of beer for $20. We had the same waitress both times and she is very knowledgeable and just adds to the pleasant experience.

Lovely 3 courses on a Friday evening. We sat outside and enjoyed watching Greensboro go by on sidewalks and streets. Excellent service and delicious food!

Stopped in soul Lu based on Yelp reviews, and was not disappointed. Seated immediately upon arrival. Cute spot downtown with plenty of foot traffic on the busy street. Selected the three-course meal for $65, where I could select any salad, entree and dessert for the price. I began with the roasted oysters ----with lardon (okay) and an undressed salad. The entree and dessert were what gives this review four stars - the noodle to sauce ratio was perfect. It was just enough pasta to not be overwhelming. The sauce was creamy and the lump crab was tossed throughout. The waiter recommended the dessert after I was trying to decide. He told me that y original selection was hit or miss -- the fig dessert, but the pit de crème was what they were known for. He didn't steer me wrong - the hazelnut, chocolate and toffee combo with the glass of Malbec was the perfect combo.

    Loved the everything!

We come here often during market, a very busy time for any restaurant... and consistently these servers, bar tenders and staff handle it very well well. The food is always delicious and prompt. The bustle of the space is fun and friendly.

    Quaint space, but efficient.

This is not just a restaurant, it's a dining experience! This place came up on Google, when searching for a place to meet with my friend. It's right on Elm street, surrounded by many other popular establishments. The parking deck was just a block away. Esthetically, the restaurant is modern with wooden floors and tables, with plain white walls It was romantically lit and clean and would definitely be perfect for date night. We were a little late for our reservation, but arrived within our 15 minute grace period. We were promptly greeted and seated in a comfortable spot next to the Window. Our waiter greeted us and asked if we wanted tap or bottled water. We went with tap. I lived in Greensboro for 5 years, the water is fine. Unfortunately, I'd developed a migraine on my way to the restaurant and opted not to order any alcohol. My friend ordered the Sangria and said that it was delicious. The food menu is simple and easy to navigate. They have a "create your own" charcuterie that I was looking forward to, but my headache was not allowing me to be great! We both just oopted for the 3 course dinner. We both ordered the Brussel sprouts as our starter. It was perfectly dressed and the combination of ingredients made for a perfectly balanced plate. My favorite bite was a little Brussel sprout, a lardon, a cranberry and a bit of cheese!! Again, I wasn't feeling well so I only enjoyed a few bites before I had them box it up. I ate it cold today (next day) and it was just as delicious. For entrees, I ordered the salmon and my friend ordered the steak. I had them box mine immediately while I insisted that my friend enjoy her meal. Her steak was beautifully plated and it was cooked just as she ordered it. She was impressed by her meal. I reheated my meal today and it was divine. Even the risotto, reheated perfectly. Everything was perfectly seasoned. I just hate that I missed out on the crispy skin since I had them box it immediately. Finally dessert. We had them box our desserts. My friend got the red velvet which looked like art and I got the pot de creme. I don't know how hers tasted but the pot de creme was a flavor and texture party!!! The butterscotch creme and hazelnuts were absolute stars for me! The waiter explained each dish as they were brought to the table along with new silverware for each course. He was even apologetic that I wasn't feeling well and happily boxed up everything. I can't wait to go back and have the full on experience. Thanks White and Wood!

Burrata: Caramelized red onions, arugula, crispy chili oil with sourdough toast points

We finally made it out to try White and Wood for dinner in downtown Greensboro. They are in the same spot as the old Fincastles. We were able to snag a 745 PM credit card required reservation on Open Table. ($50 no show fee) They were still pretty busy when we arrived so there were no menus available when we were seated. It wasn't a big deal because my husband had already scoped out the menu before we got there and I pulled up a menu on my phone. Our server, Leonardo was friendly and attentive. My water glass was never empty. He made sure to ask if we had dined with them before and explained each dish as it arrived. The buratta with sourdough toast points was the hit of the evening. It is served on a bed of caramelized red onions and a a few sprigs of arugula in a crispy chili oil that had a nice heat. It warmed your face and made your nose run just a little bit. There were only 4 toast points so you were left with quite a bit of the onions and burratta. It could stand to come with 2 more little points so you aren't left eating a mouthful of tasty onions by themselves. My husband chose the meatballs made with ribeye, wild boar, foie gras, potato aligot, brassica, king trumpet , jus. The 4 meatball $40 presentation was lovely. They were good but the best thing on the plate was the potato aligot so a bit pricey but a decent flavor. I almost went with the scallops but decided on the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger instead. It is an 8 oz filet mignon burger with melted gruyere, aioli, and a drunken BBQ sauce, served on a semi brioche bun. It is served with perfectly cripy tater tots sprinked with grated parmesan and slivered green onions. The burger was good, a little greasy on the bottom but what good burger isn't? Crispy tots are always a winner for me. The burger was fairly large and there were plenty of tots to share a few with my hubby. Overall, 1 non alcoholic beer, 1 appetizer, and 2 mains will set you back almost $90. The service was fantastic, the restaurant is pretty, and the food is tasty. I am glad we finally made it out to give them a try.

****This is a must eat at restaurant for foodies when in Greensboro. ****Don't miss! It is close to the International Civil Rights Center and Museum. It is an intimate restaurant designed curated for foodies! If you can sit at the bar (which I highly suggest), you get a close up view to skill of the chefs while being hosted by Jayden. She is a wealth of knowledge about the menu, a stellar mixologist who lovingly knows her craft, and just an all around great conversationalist. Trust her suggestions and you won't go wrong! The menu will have you in a tizzy trying to decide especially if you are watch the creation come to life. Our drinks were spot on! Jayden makes an Old Fashion that soothes your day. I ordered a tequila drink with Pineapple juice that was a perfect balance of sweet and tequila's brightness. Rimmed with Tajín...just what a tequila girl needed on a Friday Evening. For the pièce de résistance, our dinner was truly chef's kiss, started with butternut baba ganoush with diced beets and a spicy background served with naan. At this point, we knew we were in for a treat. We ordered the crab pasta which is a Meyer Lemon cream sauce and topped with a fabulous chipped pork that added an amazing depth of flavor to this dish! Bravo to the staff and Chef of this amazing establishment! Look forward to our next visit to White and Wood! There's definitely another one coming in the near future!

Madly in love with little restaurant!! The best Gin and Tonics. Charcuterie selections are on point. Definitely try the chocolate salami- yes it's a thing! The small plates are generous, and delicious. Everything is beautifully served, made with fresh ingredients. The menu always has several options, seafood, vegetarian, beef. The watermelon salad takes simple to another level. Dessert must try- crème de pot!! The galley kitchen adds to the experience!

Our bartender, LT, was so much fun. Every drink was spot on. An espresso martini for my wife and a bold old fashioned for me. On top of that, LT clearly knows his stuff when it comes to both cocktails and bourbon knowledge. I added a 1oz neat pour of 12yr Weller. Let's just say this place is a Weller lover's dream. The owner is a huge Weller fan and keeps the lounge stocked with pretty much every bottle imaginable. Something that's nearly impossible to find in Greensboro. And then there's the showstopper: a Weller Millennium bottle sitting on display. At $600 for a 1oz pour, it's pure eye candy for me. I'll just admire it from one of the comfy couches or large chairs and keep my wallet happy. The dip is always so delicious - it's one of my favorite appetizers ever. The pita is really good too. I think they recently started adding cheese to it too which is good but not really necessary in my opinion. I also tried their garlic parm boneless wings & they were so good. I loved how seasoned & salty they were, although they might be too salty for some people. I really loved it though! Their cocktail menu is also really interesting & creative. It's mostly whiskey of course but they do have other spirits. I tried the peanut butter & jelly Old fashioned and it was surprisingly delicious. It really did taste like a PB&J so I highly recommend. The inside is small but there's a nice outdoor seating area too. This really is one of my favorite places to get food in the area BUT the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because anytime I've been there remotely close to closing, they definitely let you know & make you feel rushed. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)

This was the first time in my entire life I've ever actually enjoyed an old fashioned, and ordered another one, on purpose! Get the pawpaws Pepsi. 10/10 We got to meet the owner, Jocelyn, and her partner Brian, and that completely changed the experience. Jocelyn is a real survivor. She's been through things that could've & should have, easily shut this place down or broken her, but instead, she built something meaningful out of it. She's a survivor in every sense of the word. You can feel that resilience in the space. it's not just a business, it's personal. Brian has been a strong, steady support system behind the scenes. Learning more about their story made everything feel more intentional and real, not just another trendy concept. Another thing people don't realize, this place is also a retail spot for home bartenders, with locally sourced mixers, syrups, and unique ingredients you won't find everywhere. It's part lounge, part community space, part educational experience. It's also dog-friendly, cozy, and set up in a way that actually makes you want to stay awhile and connect, whether that's with the people you came with or the people you meet there. Bitters isn't for people looking for a loud, quick night out. It's for people who appreciate good conversation, intentional drinks, and a deeper story behind where they're spending their time. I wish I could say that it was worth the wait, but my experience here suggested otherwise. Positives first: Noor is both spacious and stylish with plenty of seating in both the bar and dining areas. Sujan proved to be an attentive and courteous server. That said, the buffet was somewhat underwhelming. It was smaller than those I've found elsewhere in the area. While it offered a solid mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, those offerings were the epitome of playing it safe. Only the hakka noodles (not always an Indian buffet staple) and butter chicken (better than average) really stood out. Nothing else, from the tandoori chicken to the daal to the naan, was prepared poorly, but it was fairly forgettable. Granted, buffet food needs to appeal to a wide range of diners with varying levels of spice tolerance, and so I went in not expecting any heat. Take spiciness out of the equation, however, and the flavors still felt subdued. At least the $20 seemed reasonable for what was offered. It's possible that Noor really shines if you order off the regular menu, and so I wouldn't rule out a return here. The next time I want a weekend lunch buffet, however, I think I'll stick to Taaza.

The prices are great for the quality, usually $15-$20 for a cocktail, which feels completely fair for craft drinks like these. One of my favorite details is the playlist. It's always so good -- a mix of current hits and those deep cuts you forgot you loved, and it somehow always fits the vibe perfectly. It is in downtown Greensboro, so be prepared for parking as it is not nearby. Great drinks, great music, candles glowing, and it's the kind of place that makes you want to stay for just one more round. I'll visit again soon.
