I saw Dr.Deep at Elma.They got me in immediately and I've not received better care before.The staff and Doc were fantastic,the thing is I'm a VA patient. To make it short,most clinics won't do work for the VA on vets because the law states if they agree to work with the govt they agree to allow the VA to pay what it sees fit.In other words the doc gives a deep discount and the VA still pays far less. In short,the govt is not covering the actual cost of the work.The ones that do often are questionable at best.These guys are awesome and they were so nice about me being a VA case.Never treated me like she knew she wasn't gonna get paid (it's happened) I've only seen Dr.Deep there.....but I highly recommend her,her work is top notch and so was her attitude.Im actually looking forward to going back to fix the rest. read more

Are there TWO dentists named Dr. Blackett in Elma??? No, there isn't. To be clear: Dr. David S. Blackett at Elma dental center was who performed the root canal that caused me a severe infection. How is it that my review keeps getting removed? Blackett performed a root canal on me that got SERIOUSLY infected. When I visited him and asked him to help, he refused to see me. He literally looked inside my mouth there in front of the business without even asking me into a room for a closer look and sent me away. The result was a massive infection. EXTREMELY painful. Bone loss in my upper jaw due to the massive infection that he refused to see me for. Stay away from this office. This guy couldn't care less about his patients! read more

I got a crown, temporary, three weeks ago and returned for the permanent one yesterday. This is one of my front teeth so I was rather shocked to see that my gum line had shifted significantly. I got this crown for purely cosmetic purposes as the chipped tooth had caused me no problems in almost 20 years of having it. The dentist insisted that this is normal and that he can refer me to someone else to take a look at it. My gum line was perfectly even before I got that bad crown! Also, the tooth has been sensitive to heat and cold, he has recommended a root canal. I can now hear sustained whistling when I say words with a final "s". I really feel like this was a badly made crown and it's a shame the dentist isn't agreeing on this, especially since he touted it as a way to even out my smile. This was my dentist for the past two years and I will never return. My first few appointments with him were for cleaning and I had a great hygienist who did an excellent job. For the initial crown visit, there was someone else who didn't introduce herself, she didn't even offer me the glasses to keep the glare out of my eyes. I should have listened to my instincts and got out of there. On my last couple visits the front desk staff did not acknowledge my presence. A grand shame. read more

I would never want to see anyone go through what my boyfriend did after his experience here..so quickly I will note - There is absolutely NO confusion about the Dentist that Rick is referring to. I'm not going to hash out the entire scenario, because it is a nightmare that I dont want to relive. But, I will tell you that the amount of physical pain and emotional stress that he went through as a result of Blacketts work was absolutely unbelievable. read more

My experience is nothing like Rick O's and doesnt even come close to the Dr. Blackett I know. He is always very efficient and polite, perhaps even more than necessary. I can't help but wonder if Rick O has the wrong dentist. There is another Elma Dental Center in town... Dr Blackett is a professional you can trust. In a world where patients are viewed more like customers, Dr. Blackett will shoot strait with you, give you the facts and all your options. Then if you do decide to get work done, he is really great at telling you exactly what he is doing and you wont be in the chair waiting for him all day either. My experience with Dr Blackett has been nothing short of professional, compassionate, understanding, and very efficient. Dr Blackett is a straight shooter, giving me all the options available for every procedure I have had done. The staff there is equally professional and caring. I regret that I can not recall names of the dental assistants but they have all been great. I mostly have spoken with Nicole and Michelle in the front office, and they have been wonderful and very 'user friendly'. The best dentist I've ever had- he's done more work on me than any other dentist! Dr. Blackett was a recommendation from a family member after I went through a year of visiting different dentists for my teeth problems. I was told by one I needed a $30,000 worth of work(!), another said I only needed a few things done, and didn't look very thoroughly. I felt totally lost. I had no idea who to trust, what I really needed... and honestly all of my dentist experiences have left me feeling in the dark, hoping that the right thing was done, sometimes finding out it wasn't. With Dr. Blackett, it was like a light was turned on- he explained everything to me, even when I hadn't asked a question. Everything I needed done was explained. As he did the work he checked in every few minutes to make sure I was ok. He told me what he and his assistant were doing each step of the way, so I didn't sit on edge wondering if I should be expecting a surprise. On top of this, he is the fastest dentist I've ever had. Maybe that's because his assistant is very experienced and had everything prepared ahead of time. They obviously made a great team. At every point in my experience it was clear that Dr. Blackett was working with precision and efficiency. He understands the patients position and treats you like a valued client, not a number. If you are looking for a dentist who can handle your nervousness, walk you through things carefully and do things right and FAST, this is the one for you. I'd also recommend him if you are looking for someone who isn't going to go on auto pilot with your care, but actually gives you good customer service. The first guy to write a review had the same impression that I had on my initial visit. The humming that you hear from all the employees must be mandatory as they all do it whether they can carry a tune or not. This is to cover the fact that they are going through your pockets to see how much money that they can squeeze out of you. Kind of like Switzerland holding our coats while we fought Germany. They are very friendly as long as you don't ask any questions, and have a tendency to fabricate answers to the ones that they are uncomfortable with. They recommended work, like cleaning, that they had already done a month before just to get more insurance money. They were to install a implant for me and the extraction went well. When they finally did get the implant, it was not properly made, so, they brought me in and stuck me with big needles and cut out tissue in an effort to make it fit. This took a whole day from me and I was in pain the rest of that day and into the next. They finally gave up and ordered a crown that would fit, and when I asked them for some relief from this last botched procedure, they told me that it was no fun for them either!!!!!!!! They were not the ones under the knife!!!!! When they finally got the replacement tooth, they made me pay up front in case they messed it up again. They put the second tooth in and then immediately sent me a letter telling me not to come back. They did not care that I am having trouble with the tooth. Why should they? They have all of my insurance money and my co-pay too. I have turned them into the Better Business Bureau and am going to write a letter to the State Dental Board. They claimed that I had missed appointments and did not follow their instructions. None of this is true. For someone who should be professional and above board, they resort to sleazy tactics and try to intimidate people who don't like to be fleeced!!! NO WAY!!!!! and shame on them. Forgot to tell you that they gave me a "gas card" to appease me for the botched dental work. I took it to the gas station in Elma and put it in the pump. The pump said "SEE ATTENDANT", so I did. The attendant rant it through her machine inside twice, and said ,"There is no money on this card".
