Best Breakfast in Corvallis!! The Oregon Coast seriously needs an Elmer's. I've been going to Elmer's since I was a kid when my Grandmother would take me there in Tigard. When I was attending OSU, I would come here for breakfast almost every day and study. Great Service, Great Food! The owners, Patty and Louis are awesome and as nice as they come. Just damn good food. They will make it anyway you like. Try the Blueberry Hazelnut Pancake Combo with berry syrup and the chicken sausage with eggs the way you like 'em. Elmer's is an excellent diner! We stopped in for our first time and it was everything I wanted it to be. I had a Denver omelet with buttermilk pancakes, my husband had the classic eggs Benedict and all of it was just so good. Nothing was greasy, not even the hash browns, and everything was cooked really well. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and delicious. The atmosphere is really warm and inviting and the seating was super comfortable. Our server was Mary Quinn - she was so sweet and helpful. We will definitely be going back to Elmer's! read more

Welcome to Corvallis. While not many places here to eat you sort of think what is there will be great. Not really. Greeted very nicely and immediately seated. We we wanted breakfast fare. Our drink orders came after an extended wait; which if we were there for conversation would have been great. Orders placed and food can bacon and eggs. Be sure to be prepared to add your own salt and pepper; ours was cooked really bland. Drinks maybe should have ordered refills at time of initial filling. But... the good side everything took so long we had a wonderful conversation. So go here if you don't mind so-so dining. read more

Food was out in a timely manner, still freshly steaming and had wonderful flavor. --I've been to Elmer's quite a few times and have become familiar with the staff. I have never requested a server's section before, but this is the second time I've sat with Lacy by accident and have thoroughly enjoyed my service. She was very polite and was always on top of coffee refills. I watched as she engaged with customers around me and actually smiled to myself at the light hearted conversations she seemed to actually care about. This Elmers has inherited customers from Lyon's which was a longtime popular independent restaurant in Corvallis. They have added many Elmers specials to the menu as well as a real-life commitment to purchase, prepare and offer excellent local food favorites. We thoroughly enjoyed the late breakfast served quickly and with care by a young lady obviously committed to excellence. The german pancake was huge, tasty and artfully served. Entered the place and was seated almost instantly, the place was about half full. I sat patiently and waited, after 5 minutes or so I asked a passing waitress if I could order, she offered water (which she never brought) after another 5 or so minutes I asked a different gal the same and got nothing again. After talking with 3 waitresses and waiting for over 20 minutes I finally got up and left when I overheard the couple seated close by talking about still waiting for food 40 minutes AFTER they ordered. I was seen getting up and leaving by multiple waitresses and the hostess as well, not one word was said by any of them. I went to their competition and was seated and placed my order in less than 4 minutes total and they were very busy. read more

Elmer's used to be way better. I went here last week, and ordered Eggs Benedict. I made sure to order the eggs soft-poached. They came out hard poached, and there were bits of shell on them. The hash browns were almost non-existent, by which I mean there was- and I'm being generous here- perhaps 1/4 cup of browns on my plate, coupled with a mere drizzle of Hollandaise over the eggs. This wasn't just poor plating, it was puny. The service was excellent, which is what keeps me from giving one star. Too bad, really. This place is Fabulous. We tried Applebee's and the expensive and over priced Italian place in town and both of those places were awful. Stick to Elmers and you will be just fine, we stayed at the hotel behind it when we were in town on business. We ended up eating here 2 times a day. you can not go wrong with the Eggs Benedict and The Prime Rib Sandwich dip. Get the Prime Rib dip with Cheddar and grilled onions. The owner is a kind man who stayed late one night to make sure we got to eat dinner as we worked late and showed up after closing. He got in the kitchen and made us a fantastic hot meal as well as brewed us a pot of fresh coffee. He use to live in LA where we are from and moved here for the quite life. He is a delightful man who earned our business from now on when we are in town for business we will go nowhere else but Elmers for this reason!. Staff is welcoming. Pancakes are delicious. Thick cut bacon cooked to just the right texture. Breakfast (available all day) is the star here. Have tried dinner items such as the fish. I have been a customer here for a few years and liked eating until last week a waitress began arguing with a customer in the booth next to me and would not back down. The customer was kind and tried to explain to the waitress somethings and that waitress continued to argue ruining our lunch and really reuining the customer she was arguing withs lunch. I will not go back. What happened to the customer being right??? Prior to that issue the waitress older with blonde hair had been very short when we wanted to have her take her order. I have to say the food has gone down hill lately anyway so I won't miss it. There are other really great places to eat in Corvallis that are not chains anyway. Check out 2nd street. Just got back from Elmer's in Corvallis. You can see by my rating it was less than spectacular. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because our server was pretty good. Like in Terrie's review, we also had Thania. She was patient with our delay in ordering, and kept our drinks filled during the meal. We wondered why the place was virtually empty on a Friday night. My wife had the turkey dinner, and it wasn't very good. The turkey was clearly cut from a processed piece of turkey, not from an actual turkey. My wife ordered backed potato, and her plate arrived with mashed potatoes on it. The stuffing was fine, but the cranberries were obviously from a can. And the backed potato was over cooked. The best part of her meal was the salad. I had the seafood feast and chips (fries). The shrimp was good and coated correctly. The cod and salmon coating was not very good. Too much grease, and over coated taking away from the flavor of the fish. My brother in law had the bacon avocado burger with onion rings. He eats anything, good or bad. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Elmer's anytime soon. read more

My friend Barb and I head into Elmer's after our morning shift at The Cat's Meow Thrift Store. We are consistently greeted by friendly servers, and Patty (she and her husband are owners) always drops by for a chat with us. All of the staff there make us feel valued as customers. I really enjoyed my meal at this restaurant! As soon as we walked in, the host greeted us and dat us down. A waiter was by very quickly to take drink orders. They got our food out quickly after ordering. I like how they didn't come by every 5 minutes to make sure it was ok. They did come by a couple of times to fill drinks which is how it should be done. It's also fairly cheap so it's the perfect place to get great food and save a little money while also enjoying a nice restaurant! read more

This is where the seniors like to go for lunch. Elmer's has convenient parking, a pleasant staff, and prompt service. The food is less greasy than similar items at the restaurant right next door. The menu is average American fare at average American prices, but appears to be of better quality than what you find at similar chain restaurants. The prevailing sentiment among my friends is that the pies are better next door, but I like to eat at Elmer's because the food seems healthier. The place was nearly empty of customers when we went. We both ordered burgers w/ free refills on the french fries. The burgers were a long time coming, and when they did, the tops of the Kaiser rolls were crunchy, not soft, as though they'd been sitting around for awhile. The cheese, once melted, had already become hard again on top of a saltless patty. Ketchup & mustard were brought, but once we had placed a bit on our plates, both were whisked away. Another wait-person came along, well after we had finished our plates, and asked if we wanted more fries. When they came, they appeared old and crunchy and brown, as if they may have been fried twice. Again, that ketchup was whisked away as if there were only one bottle in the place. We both got the sense that something strange was going on. With all the staff running around, so few customers, and below-par food. I doubt we will be back. read more

I came into the restaurant on Tuesday this week in the evening. Upon my arrival, I was seated by a man who was eating off to the side of the front desk & did not seem very thrilled about my arrival. Although this was not the most pleasant welcoming--or the most sanitary--our waitress Lacey, really made us feel at home. She quickly greeted us and offered us many different selections of drinks (I didn't even know the served Pomegranate Mimosas), asked us about how our days went, and proceeded to take our order in a very organized fashion. Usually my kids make dinner a little difficult because they are so young, but Lacey was very polite when talking to them and made sure to adjust their "Bigfoot Breakfast's" to the kids' individual preferences. I am glad to say that although we had a rough entry, Lacey really made our experience here at Elmer's worth while! If you are to visit, make sure you sit with her! read more
