Strawberry Waffles and chicken sausage and choice of eggs

Food is served super fast I'll say that, so perfect for when you want to have a good breakfast but have plans later on. Was on a weekend but was seated really fast. Food wasn't special or anything, good, but nothing mind blowing. However it's a good place to sit down with family and have nice talks so I still recommend. Nice how pancakes and waffle prices on the menu include choice of meat and two eggs, but you could also just do the pancakes and waffles if that's what you desire for less of the presented price.

Not that I thought the experience would be good, went with my elderly parents as they seem to like this location. All food is either frozen, dehydrated, or processed. I preferred the avocado bacon hamburger, bun was crumble and fell a part, two small pieces of avocado one small tomato, one pieces of bacon with about 20 fries. This was embarrassing, the servers was embarrassed to bring it out. This location is dirty, dated, needs overhauled. Not what it once was.

We went to Elmers on a Thursday morning around 10:00. Very homey environment and packed. We ordered the Country Fried Steak with eggs lightly scrambled and we ordered the Waffle breakfast with eggs over easy and sausage. We were welcomed when we went into the restaurant and had quick service from our server once we sat down. I ordered the coffee but it wasn't worth it because it tasted watered down and a bit burnt. The country-fried steak was good, but I think that the gravy could have been a bit more flavorful. Hash Browns were soggy in the center, and not evenly cooked at all. I didn't eat them. The service was nice, and the environment was clean, but at the price of the food and the low quality of flavor in the sauces and coffee, I do not think that I would choose Elmers again.

Go to the Broken Yolk instead if you're looking for flavor. If you like Denny's best then this is your place. Not bad but not great.

Farmers market mornings and brunch this good? Tough combo to beat in Corvallis…read more After strolling through the Corvallis farmers market on a sunny Saturday morning, we popped into Odd Bird Café for brunch and completely understood why the place was packed. We grabbed a patio table instead of waiting inside and really enjoyed the atmosphere, though the QR code ordering system made things a little tough when trying to grab extra coffee, water, or ask questions without a server around. The Birdy Mary was solid but landed around a 6/10 for me, missing some of the spice and depth I personally like in a great Bloody Mary, but the hot drip coffee absolutely hit the spot. The food, though, was outstanding. My wife and I split the BLT with crispy bacon and avocado spread, paired with potatoes that were somehow crispy, soft, and packed with flavor all at the same time. Our daughter and son-in-law ordered the "I'm the Good Kind of Fat" special with house-smoked salmon, poached egg, arugula, and avocado on sourdough, and every bite looked better than the last. Odd Bird feels like one of those spots that fits Corvallis perfectly: relaxed, local, busy in the best way, and serving food that makes you want to come back next weekend. #CorvallisEats #BrunchGoals #OddBirdCafe #FarmersMarketMorning #OregonEats #FoodieFind

Rainy Day, Great Bar Seat, and One Memorable Meal…read more It was a cold, rainy Oregon afternoon when I stumbled into Castor, and I'm glad I did. There happened to be one open seat at the bar, which is my favorite place to dine when traveling. Sitting at the bar lets you talk story with the bartender, learn the menu, and watch the cocktails come together. If you're eating alone, I highly recommend grabbing a seat here. The bartender was friendly, easy to talk with, and clearly knew both the menu and the craft behind the bar. One thing that stood out right away was their use of fresh local ingredients, which really shows up in the flavor of the dishes and drinks. I started with the Golden Manhattan, made with a pecan-infused bourbon that was fantastic. It had a rich, slightly nutty flavor with warm vanilla notes and just the right touch of sweetness. Smooth, balanced, and a great way to kick off the meal. Alongside that I ordered the chorizo clam chowder, which brought a creamy base with just the right amount of spice from the chorizo. Comfort food with a little personality. For dinner I switched gears and ordered the Creole Sour. This one really stood out. Bright citrus up front, a smooth bourbon backbone, and a subtle spice note that tied perfectly into the Creole theme. It had that classic sour balance, tart, slightly sweet, and refreshing without overpowering the drink. Dinner was the gumbo with hot bread and butter, and it delivered. Deep flavor, a nice slow warmth from the spice, and hearty enough to make the rainy Oregon weather feel like part of the experience. To finish things off I kept it simple with a neat pour of Ben Holladay, which made for the perfect nightcap. The staff were welcoming and relaxed, which made the whole experience feel easy and comfortable. This is the kind of place that works whether you're dining solo, meeting friends, out with someone special, or grabbing dinner with a group. The price point landed right where it should be for the quality of food, cocktails, and service. If you're in Corvallis and can grab a seat at the bar at Castor, take it. Order a cocktail, settle in, and enjoy the ride. It turned a rainy afternoon into one heck of a meal.

I always enjoy my latte here. I've also tried out their sweet and creamy cold brew (a little too sweet but as a treat it was great!) and their cortado which are both solid. My go to dish is usually the acai bowl. Plenty of textures, flavors, and a good amount of sour and sweet that makes it's perfectly balanced. The only downside is that the spoons that are provided are a little big for the bowl that you are given, so you are bound to spill a little bit. The Mexican bowl is okay, but not quite my personal preference since there is more of a curry taste to it. Overall come and give Bodhi a try!

Though busy on a Wednesday afternoon (it was the day before Thanksgiving after all), we found a table and had a great meal. I loved my latte and biscuits and gravy! Everything was tastefully presented and had wonderful flavors. The portion sizes aren't too big, so don't expect a huge meal. I found the biscuits and gravy to be filling for a brunch, but someone with a bigger appetite might want to opt for something more substantial. The staff did a great job getting many orders out in a fairly short amount of time, and based on my meal, they weren't sacrificing quality in the process. The cafe norms are pretty standard for a seat-yourself cafe where you order at the counter, pick up your food at the counter, and bus your own table. I found Bodhi Cafe and Bakery to be exactly what I needed, and look forward to returning.

A full-blown masterpiece. This isn't your average slice of cheesecake. What Craves serves is a velvety, rich, and luxuriously whipped creation perched atop pillowy-soft brioche toast that's lightly crisped to perfection. It's drizzled in a deep marionberry reduction that strikes the perfect balance between tart and sweet, and topped with plump, juicy blackberries that taste like they were picked fresh that morning. Add in the subtle crunch of a graham cracker crumble dusted over the whole plate, and you've got a dessert that's indulgent, elegant, and dangerously addictive. The texture contrast between the creamy cheesecake filling, the light toast, and the rich berry drizzle is unforgettable. It's like French toast met cheesecake, fell in love, and had a baby--with Oregon marionberries blessing the union. Whether you're a local or just passing through Corvallis, make Craves your dessert destination. I'll be coming back for another round (or three) of this marionberry magic. Bravo to the team--this place is a sweet tooth's dream!
