I had a wonderful experience at Elms Cleaners for my wedding dress alterations. *PLEASE BE AWARE* she is booking months out! I had to call in the beginning of May for my September wedding and she had to squeeze me in then. So call 5 months before your big day or sooner. She booked 4 appointments for me, and a final appointment for pick up and how to show my maid of honor how to bustle my dress. She might look a little disorganized, but that is just her way of doing things. My wedding dress came out perfect. The only problem was my dress was so heavy the bustle did come undone at my reception but this was my fault for stepping on the dress and ripping some of the button's thread.. I had emergency thread and able to fix it... most dresses would not have this problem, but if you're waking in uneven grass just make sure to lift up the dress and watch your step. Either way, I looked perfect in the dress and that's all that mattered. She has great communication, always verified next appointments and texted me if she needed any questions answered or updates on when my dress was ready. Ursula is a very sweet lady, and always trying to appease. I would definitely recommend to anyone. She's actually a master tailor, took 8 years of schooling... her perfection and attention to detail is on point. She was very helpful with veil selection and advice for bridal fashion. She also helped me find a new rhinestone appliqué piece for the bodice that was nicer than the one the dress came with! Just call really early to book! read more

Ursula is one of Western Massachusetts' best kept secrets for bridal alterations. She doesn't advertise much and I only heard her through several women in my family. As soon as I met her, her warmth and personality shone through. She truly cares about you as a customer and takes genuine care in making your dress look amazing on your body. I had a challenging dress shade and wasn't able to find a veil to match. When she heard this, she suggested that I let her figure out the veil part. She took it upon herself to find the perfect fabric and lining. In the end, she crafted a GORGEOUS veil that would have cost me hundreds of dollars if I went elsewhere. Now I have a beautiful keepsake that you couldn't find anywhere else. My dress fit like a glove, and I felt beautiful. Her rates were very affordable, and I think she should honestly charge more because her craftsmanship was so good. She does run a dry cleaning shop at the same time, so while she *does* give you individualized attention, do be prepared for her to have to pause for taking phone calls and taking dry cleaning drop offs. If you consider yourself to be a "bridezilla" who can't stand an interruption or two, then this might not be the place for you. I almost don't want to write a review as I don't want to give up the fabulous secret, but the bottom line is Ursula deserves all the accolades anyone can offer. She is the most conscientious human being I have ever met and does the most meticulous work ever. I had her hem up some lace curtains I purchased at IKEA. The price for the curtains was ridiculously cheap so wasn't too concerned about how they turned out. I had no idea who to take them to but had heard Ursula does fabulous work. When I called she was working with a bride on her wedding dress, but she called me back promptly. She hemmed twelve curtains, including double hems to cover the front windows, for a very reasonable price and the work was flawless. I don't use a dry cleaner too often, but I will never go anywhere else for any tailoring or dry cleaning work. She is beyond amazing! read more

Ursula is an amazing seamstress and is the best at what she does. Her work ranges from the simplest pieces to the most intricate and elegant. I would not recommend this place if you want drapes dry cleaned. I dropped my drapes off and a week later picked them up only to discover many creases where they shouldn't be. I returned them , showed her and she said her mother would press them with a special iron. She tried to excuse herself from the responsibility of the condition and said she probably shouldn't take drapes because they are difficult. A week later I returned to pick them up( I had to call, she didn't have my cell number) and upon returning home discovered a rew more creases but overall they were better. I still had to get my iron out to fix them. She did offer to repair the damage but I feel making excuses isn't very professional. read more

Fantastic! I had my wedding gown altered at Elm Cleaners and Urszula is the owner and you work directly with her, she is great! She really takes the time to get to know your dress and does what she feels is best for your alteration, along with you. She showed me 6 different bustles to choose from and was there 5 times just to make sure everything was perfect which it was!! You can really appreciate her effort as she really takes the time to get the job right : ) I even called her the morning of my wedding to tell her we couldn't find the bustle loops...she hid them so well! lol she was on speaker phone directing us on how to find them within minutes we found them!!
