I ordered online today to get a chicken finger wrap with fries and a pop for myself and a chicken finger sub for my coworker. The online ordering process was easy. The service was good, when I got there. We both enjoyed our food. The wrap by itself was very good. The fries were crispy and good. The he drink part of the combo menu is a can of pop from their cooler. This place is a regular small grocery store with regular kinds of grocery foods but you can also order food here at the counter or online. They also have breakfast sandwich deals in the morning. I can't wait to try those out!!!

What is this dog food? Used to be the best breakfast sandwich in town!! Last 3 times 1/10 Threw it right in the trash. Just found out new owners took over and it makes perfect sense. Will NEVER return

I'm currently on a quest to find the perfect breakfast sandwich, specifically a bacon egg and cheese bagel. This would have been a 10/10 if the bagel was fresh made but I believe it was just the regular kind that come in 6 pack at the grocery store. Still super, super great and almost perfect in my opinion - nice amount of ingredients seeing as that is usually the issue I have. The wait was short despite them being busy on a Sunday. Prices are very fair and I think their menu is great. Very much a NYC deli vibe

Great spot for quick food, no real complaints. I live like 4 steps from this place so its always a good choice for me. Lots of options, nice menu, great prices. I posted pictures of breakfast that I've had from here a few times. Not the best breakfast sandwich I've had, but not bad either. The hashbrown is a little small but nothing really bothersome. Their subs are great though. I've ordered a few times, wish I took some pictures. Really good quality for a low price. Friendly and professional staff, clean and organized store. Like a really upscale corner store. I definitely recommend a stop inside.

Elmwood Market is just a bit down the street from me and has some of the best takeout food anywhere in Buffalo. The entirety of their personnel, from the cash out staff, to the chefs, to the owner who quite often makes appearances is always of a friendly and amiable disposition. My personal tastes say that they're fries are excellent. I love their cheeseburgers and especially the bacon cheeseburger sub. My experience tells me that other menu items can only be every bit as delicious and affordable even during these times of ours. I would say that even if you're not very close to the corner of Elmwood and North, try to make an effort to try them just once and I just about be willing to wager that you'd make them a regular. One last thing, in the interest of impartiality, I think it's fair for me to say that ordinary retail items such as snack items that can be purchased anywhere can tend to be pricey. But their takeout is the point.

Corner stores and Bodegas are not just a place for playing your numbers, buying snacks and a pack of cigarettes (eww). Authentic bodegas serve as pillars for nurturing communities, celebrating each neighborhoods' cultural footprints and encouraging human synergy. Some of the products might seem a little pricey here but I can say most, if not all of the convenience goods are still cheaper here then they would be at your local Walgreens, 7/11 or closest gas station. And I also know all the food/product at the Elmwood Market is guaranteed fresh (ehem Price Rite), so to each their own. The staff is really friendly you'll most likely be on a first-name basis with a few. They pay great attention to detail, I'm almost sure they know my order by heart now. But I'm going, to be honest; the main reason why I am leaving this review is because of the food. The menu here is pretty extensive, its 3 pages long front to back so I haven't had the chance to try every single dish but I can highlight my favorites. Everyone loves a good sandwich especially a good BEC. Translation: BaconEggCheese (and occasionally a hash brown). And if you aren't already familiar with the terminology, I shame you and I'm judging! The Elmwood Market has a hefty sandwich without being too outrageous with buttered eggs and a nice amount of cheese oozing out the sides. The Chicken Souvlaki Melt combo is accompanied by french fries and a dill pickle (unless you order the sandwich specifically then you will only get the melt alone). The sandwich consists of souvlaki chicken, feta, peppers, and onions. It's always golden-brown and toasted to perfection. And I love the fact that they let you pick your grain (I always put mines on rye). I often find myself mostly full after the first half of the sandwich but I usually manage to eat the pickle spear and one or two of the French fries. The sandwich itself (only $6.85) is filling and satisfies my cravings. The cold cuts have great structure, flavor, and are sturdy enough to hold all of your toppings, which is important because who on earth wants a soggy sub?! They also have the right balance of meat, cheese, vegetables, and bread. Which seems simple but it is surprisingly hard to come by. The sub is ingeniously composed and perfectly seasoned with every bite. They also have a chicken finger dinner for $10.99 and before you even say it I already know what you're thinking. I get it, chicken fingers are typically dubbed a kids meal but hear me out... The size of these fingers will give you the green-light you needed to eat them guilt-free as an adult. This meal also comes with fries and a roll.

Love the Elmwood Market! I've been going here for years and the staff is super friendly and helpful. They pretty much have everything you would expect from a corner store and then some more. They have a kitchen that offers delicious breakfast sandwiches, hot and cold subs, and some dinner specials like fried fish, fried shrimp, chicken finger etc. They also have a mini Tim Hortons inside, which is quite convenient for the neighborhood. I have only had their breakfast sandwiches. They are delicious!! I usually get mine with pepperjack cheese. You can also add hash browns to the sandwich(yum!). A lot of people in the area go to this store so be prepared for a small queue.

Stopped in for a breakfast sandwich. Pretty basic tho. Place seemed like it had everything you'd be looking for, nice selection of snacks and quick grab grocery stuff. In a great location with ample parking. Need to grab a cold drink or some.grub, they have it all.

This place has everything, and the workers are so nice and helpful! This is my favorite corner store In buffalo to go to for fresh baked goods and subs. Great prices and great people :) thank you Al for being so kind to my friend and I.

Most of the places along Elmwood are more like a "Mark-up" than a "Mark-et", as prices in this district are significantly higher than the rest of the relatively-affordable WNY region. However this little burnt-around-the-edges gem is a diamond in the rough. Or if you leave your dog tied up outside as the hipsters do, it's a diamond in the Ruff. They make fresh sandwiches for you on the grill, as well as selling all kinds of (mostly overpriced) typical convenience store stuff, but with a great and varied and often unusual selection, perhaps catering to their quirky clientele. Not the best breakfast sandwich in town (hello, Ohlson's Bakery) but definitely a good one. Enjoyable, freshly-made, far better than anything you'd get at a fast food outlet, and affordable too. I'm sure Oak and Maple wouldn't like this Market, but Elm would.

It really shouldn't have taken me this long to actually eat here considering how long I've lived nearby but glad I pulled the trigger today. I was really craving a Reuben and heard good things, I won't say it was the worlds best Reuben but for less than $6 it hit the spot. The picture of their steak sub got me drooling so I picked up an 8" Alex Deluxe, again for a ridiculously cheap price and I have to say this is one of the best steak subs I've had in the area - forget Jim's Steakout! Always extremely friendly staff and their popularity is obvious, there were several people waiting to grab lunch. All in all, you aren't going to find better deals - both sandwiches and an iced tea for $16 - you'll be paying a lot more elsewhere for less.

The $6.99 special with fries and a can of pop.
    Mark B.

I highly recommend the Elmwood Market. Very reasonably priced with a great selection friendly employees and awesome specials. They're 8 inch sub with fries and a can of pop for $6.99 is a special every day along with another 10 or so specials they offer are great deals. I went with the tuna which is very good even though sometimes I'm Leary on tuna. Love the option that they have multiple varieties of Yancey's fancy cheese to choose from. I Will be back again soon thank you!!

The roast beef is so tender, they give you a good portion on the roll and there's a nice flavor, leaves me salivating. It's been quite sometime since I had one, I finally had some time and stopped at this location. I regret to say I'm disappointed in myself because I was stopping for a roast beef and ended up making the mistake of being spontaneous and ordered the grilled BBQ prime rib sandwich. I'm sorry, I didn't like it. So, this sandwich costs $15.99 (comes with nothing extra), it was also on a roll, there was no BBQ sauce (I assumed there would be) but it was just dry, plain, devoid of much flavor, they topped it with provolone cheese, a couple pieces of peppers and some onions but it didn't hit the spot for me. The Costanzo roll was overbearing. I learned a valuable lesson today, "stick with what you love about the place!" So, I'll be back for that roast beef another day. The inside is reminiscent of the local 80's fast food joints of Buffalo, I would call it a little shack. You walk in, lean back, look up at the menu, order and walk around to pay and pick up your food. There is a small seating area, a few booths to sit a party of four. Pick up your food at the counter after they call your name. Nothing fancy, just a quick little spot to eat.

They already have a fantastic thin-crust pizza, so I asked if they could make the Sicilian style with the muffuletta toppings. No problem at all. It took a little longer than expected (ordered for 4:45, ready at 5:00), but it was absolutely worth the wait. Ordering is easy online or by phone. If you get voicemail, just call back - they're probably on the phone with another customer. Now, about that pizza. The thick Sicilian crust had the perfect chew: light and airy inside with a crisp, golden bottom. Every bite was loaded with the bold salty toppings, bringing a savory, slight spice/pickled kick that paired perfectly with the oils and melted cheese. The toppings reached edge to edge, creating a pizza that was hearty, flavorful, and impossible to put down. Please pencil in a visit to The Deli on a Wednesday to grab one of their pizzas. I do recommend ordering ahead to claim your dough. This version reads like a Yelp review and really highlights the texture and flavor of a loaded Sicilian pie.
