I've been wanting to try their Sicilian-style pizza for quite some time, and my birthday cookie reward finally gave me the perfect excuse to celebrate. They already have a fantastic thin-crust pizza, so I asked if they could make the Sicilian style with the muffuletta toppings. No problem at all. It took a little longer than expected (ordered for 4:45, ready at 5:00), but it was absolutely worth the wait. Ordering is easy online or by phone. If you get voicemail, just call back - they're probably on the phone with another customer. Now, about that pizza. The thick Sicilian crust had the perfect chew: light and airy inside with a crisp, golden bottom. Every bite was loaded with the bold salty toppings, bringing a savory, slight spice/pickled kick that paired perfectly with the oils and melted cheese. The toppings reached edge to edge, creating a pizza that was hearty, flavorful, and impossible to put down. Please pencil in a visit to The Deli on a Wednesday to grab one of their pizzas. Sandwiches here are so good they make your head tilt. Like the weight of how good they taste is so heavy that you can't lift your head up straight you need to tilt it lol. I had the Sting which features their handmade, always fresh, never frozen chicken cutlets. It also has their hot honey which isn't too spicy it gives it a good kick that compliments the rest of the ingredients. We also got the Art Corvalay which was absolutely amazing. Amazing amazing! The food here is always fresh and I've never had a bad experience. Great variety of subs, chili, soup du jour, pizzas, and desserts. Great customer service and they will customize every sub or pizza the way you want. They use top line Boar's Head meats and freshly delivered sub rolls, homemade spreads and dressings. Homemade soups and chili are always so good. Can be pricey but you get what you pay for. Parking is ample and they have a few tables inside for seating with simple ambience and decor. There is a cooler with self-serve drinks and desserts. Meatball sub is so good (homemade meatballs of course), and the homemade olive spread on the muffaletta hits the spot, New Orleans style! Boy what a great find! We really enjoyed it here! I got the sting sandwich is was so good! My buddy got their chicken parm with pesto chicken cutlet again delish. My wife LOVES The Deli. She has been going here for deli meat almost weekly virtually since they opened. The owners are the nicest people and always have smiles on their faces. Their sandwiches are always excellent and their Wednesday pizza specials are fantastic (espe that margherita!). Some of the sandwiches I enjoy better than others, e.g. not a fan of the olive spread on the Muffuletta, which is just my personal taste more than anything, and the Meatball Bomber is top notch. Either way, their food is always super fresh and delicious! Treat yourself to a chocolate dipped Oreo or two while you're at it or one of the rotating desserts in their cooler. Additionally, my wife is a big fan of their chicken salad and gets it regularly. She is also celiac and they take their gluten friendliness very seriously. If I had one complaint, it would be that some variation in the menu would be nice. While the fan favorites are always great, some seasonality or periodic changes to the options to keep it fresh wouldn't be a bad thing. Stopped in to get a quick sandwich. I ordered the sting which has chicken cutlets and hot honey and cheese. It was good, but it was pretty greasy for my liking. Wow! Talk about friendly staff! I found them because my GPS took me there instead of the business around the corner for my yelp elite bagel pickup. The guys working the deli counter asked their dad about where the bagel pick up was and he actually walked me there! We talked about me living in Chautauqua and places to eat there and here. I went in to buy some things from them and tip them well. The place was so clean and smelled amazing! All of the staff were beyond welcoming! I bought a banana pepper habanero hot sauce, 2 slices of take and heat lasagna, chips, deli meat, and a take and heat frozen pasta with vodka sauce and sausage. Wow! After many months of wanting to check out The Deli, today, I finally did and I can honestly say that it did not disappoint!! I am vegetarian, however, I really love veggie sandwiches! Luckily, The Deli is veg friendly and offers a variety of options on their menu, both sandwiches and salads! I ordered a caprese sandwich. It was so delicious! The second I took a bite, I could tell that every single ingredient was fresh. I especially loved the mozzarella! I also grabbed a cannoli to go and it was the BEST cannoli I've ever had. It was a Nutella cannoli and the flavor of the filling was everything my chocolate-obsessed self could have ever imagined! The atmosphere is bright and crisp, but also warm and inviting with a portrait of the owner's mother on the wall and little flowers set at each table. The prices are also reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. This place is the perfect spot to get a quick bite for lunch and a sweet treat for dessert. While I was sitting at a table enjoying my sandwich, I realized what really makes The Deli stand out. The owners, Ed and Kristin are such wonderful and kind people, and they establish meaningful relationships with their customers. Every single customer who walked through the door during the hour I was there, Ed, Kristin and their son, Max, greeted them with smiles, had conversations with them, and treated them like they were a part of their family. These are people who care about community and find pure joy in sharing their homemade recipes with the world's eager taste buds. I can not recommend The Deli enough, it is an East Aurora hidden gem. This is a super cute local deli in the East Aurora village area! The bread rolls are fresh and locally made, and each sandwich is hand curated. The meats and cheeses are freshly sliced, and the sandwiches are built right in front of you. The owners are insanely sweet and really friendly. They really do make every person feel welcomed and known. This is our second time there! The first time we had the meatball and Ricky Ricardo, both excellent! This time around we had the razor and the hamchengo. Y'all, let me tell you. They do lot skimp on these sandwiches. They are insanely filling. But because everything is fresh you don't feel weighted down. They also have homemade desserts! We bought a blueberry scone and it's fanatic. A good scone isn't overly sweet or dry (in my opinion!) and they've nailed it. As a note: the owners don't always have their masks pulled up. Sometimes it falls below their chin, or they walk out front of house without it. If you're really Covid cautious, it might make you a little uncomfortable and that's totally ok! With cases going up it's definitely not fun to see. But if that's the case, I recommend coming back when things calm down and give this place a try. Today,(my second lunch at the Deli) I ordered the Crinzi sandwich. Without alteration, the sandwich is a balanced interplay of sweet peppers marinated in non-viscous extra virgin olive oil, Gorgonzola cheese and fresh basil. Each bite features an initial bold Gorgonzola cheese flavor, that is quickly palliated by sweet and savory sweet peppers. The olive oil marinade keeps the entire sandwich moist and easily chewable. Albeit a vegetarian recipe, I added a layer of meat for weight and depth. I recommend stopping by if you value very tasty food, quality ingredients and hospitality from the friendly owners. A little off the beaten path ( even though it's on Main St, this gem is well worth the 4 extra minute walk from the main part of Main ) you will not be disappointed. To begin with, the owners, Kirstin and Ed are super friendly and though we met them only that day, we left feeling as if we had lunch with old friends! The sandwiches were fabulous-I had a Palermo-on a freshly made, soft and dense roll. Rosemarie ham, Asiago cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and a scrumptious artichoke spread made this lunch a delight. My hubby had a sausage concoction that was equally fabulous. The selection of house favorites was just the right amount-enough to find something for just about anyone. If not, one could order their own creation. A homemade soup, salads and selection of freshly baked sweets were also on the menu. In addition, there were items for our purchase in a cooler-very tempting! The lucky people who live in this adorable town are fortunate to have such friendly purveyors of excellent lunchtime fare.
