I really don't think I could be anymore obsessed with this place: I had my daughter's birthday here and the woman who owns it is super sweet, helpful, and so easy to get along with. The kids got to decorate a cake and they had so much fun doing it. The gelato she keeps in stock is also amazing. My boyfriend got my birthday cake here and I absolutely loved it. She's also very reasonably priced and answered all of my questions easy.

Super cute in here! The cake batter gives the cookies a very unique texture that just leaves you wanting another bite. They're huge! Very flavorful as well. Would recommend

I had never been to this establishment before the Yelp Elite event and I used to love a couple miles away. The owner is so polite and patient. They offer cakes, cookies, and brownies. I can't wait to sign up to take a king cake class with my girls.

In Baton Rouge with my daughter for an LSU campus visit. After a long tour and burning calories we stopped at Rice & Roux for a snack. Afterwards we needed a well earned snack and luckily EMC was next door. We grabbed a cupcake each but we were told the Beruvian cupcake was the cashiers favorite. From the quick visit, cupcakes were definitely 5 stars so we regret not trying the others but next time seems like LSU is going to be her Fall 2022 choice.

    Smash cake

After picking some cake pops up from here a few weeks ago, I opted to order my baby's smash cake and cake pops for his birthday. Everything turned out perfect, just like the pictures I sent, and I honestly think these are the best cake pops in br. The website could use a little help, because online ordering is confusing, but texting with the owner was super easy! I also want to add that I have attempted to make special orders from other local bakeries before, and they would either not respond or tell me they needed more than 2 weeks notice. Eloise just needs 48 hours and was very responsive.

The cake baking process and she even included bingo with prizes to help the time pass !

I loveee this company. Me and my sister attended a king cake class here earlier this year and we had sooo much fun!! The owner was so sweet and genuine and helpful, she explained how she started up her businesses and it was such a heartwarming and inspiring story. This company is truly an inspiration to me and other young people who are wanting to start a business one day. The building is gorgeous and she played super good music while we made our king cakes. A 10/10 experience. If you ever have the chance to do a class or stop by a get a sweet treat, do it!!!!

I really wanted to like this spot after reading the reviews. After getting my nails done next door I decided to try this spot out. They didn't have cupcakes so I went for the cookies. After one bite of these banana pudding cookies and I was DONE into the trash they went !! Under cooked, instant pudding topping just NASTY!

Absolutely Phenomenal!!! The sweets here are absolutely to die for!!! We come here once a week! Highly recommend !!!

left: what we ordered right: what we got

If I could rate this place a zero, I would. Picture on the left is what we thought we would get, picture on the right is what we got. The flowers look like they could have been done by someone at Walmart, the gold paint was dripped all over the cake and done very poorly, no where in the picture we gave to them is there any green, and the child's name was not put on the cake like we ordered. We were called the day of picking up the cake and asked if we could come 2 hours later than originally told to get it, when we arrived a party for an employee was going on, leading us to believe they forgot about our order and threw this together last minute. We paid over $100 for a cake that could have been made better at Walmart and cost way less. It's sad this bakery is proud to give this to a costumer.

The sandwiches were fresh and packed with flavor, the pot pies were rich, creamy, and pure comfort food, and the appetizers were the perfect start to the meal. The whipped Parmesan mashed potatoes deserve their own standing ovation. They were unbelievably creamy, cheesy, and easily some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. And don't even get me started on the sweet pies... BOMB! They were the perfect ending to an already amazing meal. To top it all off, our waitress, Sophie C, was an absolute gem! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure our entire experience was perfect from start to finish. If you're anywhere near Baton Rouge, do yourself a favor and eat at Elsie's Plate & Pie. (Visiting from out of town). Expected a wait, 20 minutes, no problem! Another 15 to place our order, and another 25 to receive our food. We were there over an hour before we got any food. Ooffff... it's fine. We're laid back and can roll with the punches-they're busy and staff was friendly-it'll all be worth it when the food rocks our socks. Sadly...no. Both grilled cheeses (entrees) were room temp and the cheese was already hardening. It felt as if they had forgotten to deliver the food. Waitress was so kind and took the one off our check. It was appreciated. Boudin balls were great!! Bedford and remoulade sauces were okay. Parmesan potatoes were good!! Brussel sprouts and fries were fine-would have been better if served hot, I think. We did the pie flight and they were all good. Not mind blowing, but good. I always give out second chances-public service and food service is tough and sometimes you just have off days. Worth checking out if you live in town!! But if you're just passing through, maybe just get some pie to go.

I hate writing negative reviews because the cakes at Cake Goddess truly are delicious. However,…read moretheir customer service and policies have completely changed my mind about ever ordering from them again. I placed an order on a Thursday for a very simple 8-inch cake -- no fondant, just basic icing. Only two hours later, I called to change the pickup date and was told the "process had already been started," so absolutely no changes or refunds could be made. For such a simple cake order, that response felt unreasonable and inflexible, especially given how quickly I called back. A little customer service and understanding would have gone a long way. It's disappointing because the quality of the cakes is excellent, but policies like this make customers feel unvalued. Unfortunately, this experience will keep me from ordering from them again.

On the phone, the girl asked me how many people were going to be there and which 5 flavors of cake we would like to try. She also asked me where the wedding venue was (so I assumed at this point that they would deliver.) I did explain this was going to be a custom cake, and it would only be me at the consult, and that I only needed the two flavors (almond w/white and yellow w/chocolate.) When I arrived, I sat down with the consultant who brought over two cupcakes (almond w/white and yellow w/white - which was NOT correct) but, no big deal - I know their cake is good. Then she proceeds to pull out wedding cake sample books. I explained again that I did not want a traditional cake, but a custom cake and began to show her the design. At that point, she seemed less than interested, and explained they do not do edible images, so I pivoted and gave her another design that they could do with piping and fondant. She didn't give ideas, she didn't offer solutions, she just sat there like she was bored. She then told me that they would not deliver a cake that was not three tier or more. So I was supposed to come and pick up the wedding cake while I was in the middle of getting ready for a wedding? Why even ask for the address then? At this point, I decided to just go elsewhere. The attention to detail was poor, and the enthusiasm for a sale was poor. I also suggest that when scheduling a wedding cake consult that one say up front that there is no delivery (I would have even paid extra. Price was not the issue.) If I had know that, I wouldn't have wasted my time or money.
