From the first email to the "I DO", Jon-Paul and his lovely wife, Crystal were the best of the best. The communication was a 10 out of 10. The reassurance was the same. We came from out of town and were a bit nervous about spending money sight unseen. I think, we would have paid double if, we knew then, what we experienced on our wedding day. If you and your significant other are planning to get married, I cannot scream loud enough - DON'T WASTE MONEY ON A HUGE WEDDING! If you are able, go to Asheville and let JP and his wife guide you through a seamless ceremony. No stress, no worries, no regrets! We were able to pamper ourselves all weekend. We added the videographer to capture all the fun. It was just the two of us along with JP and Crystal. We honestly felt like we were with our friends. They made us so comfortable and relaxed. There was no rushing at all. We can't wait to get our photos and video. With all the money we saved by eloping, we were able to comfortably spoil ourselves to the fullest. Elope Asheville helped us live our dream this week after rescheduling around COVID (and with Grove Park Inn). They went above and beyond helping us. JP performed our ceremony which was great and Jen was our photographer. She was AMAZING! She gave us 219 photos and had 3 days turn around time which was amazing. She was never still during our time which was great. Our photos were great quality and out of all those only 4 I didn't keep (I didn't like how I looked). Let me start by saying these people are AMAZING!! From start to finish they held my hand along the way of the treacherous task of being a bride! I stared by emailing John Paul (who officiated our wedding) when I first got engaged. Because we're from Florida we had NO IDEA who we should choose for our vendors. They recommended a great hair/make-up artist, a violinist, venues, etc! I ended up going with literally ALL recommendations and was so pleased that I did!! John Paul did a fantastic job (didn't mess up not one time :D) and he truly made us feel comfortable. THE PHOTOGRAPHY IS AMAZING!!!!! So, we stayed at a bed and breakfast and Amanda came to take some photos of me getting ready before the ceremony. She was so kind and patient with my awkward poses (lol!) Her fiance, Ben is also a photographer for Elope Asheville, and while Amanda took photos of myself, he took photos of the groom and family at the venue. This was so convenient because, of course, it took me awhile to get ready! I loved that he used that time so wisely. Now, the results of the photos were incredible. The mountains alone looked fantastic; but the editing, the creative photo ideas - more than I could have ever asked for. I am so happy I choose Elope Asheville for one of the most important days of our lives. We have such fond memories to look back on for many years to come. Elope Asheville - Wedding Planning Near Me - Asheville, North Carolina

Started off really well. Met in downtown Ashville and were given directions to a place we had booked at Jump Off Rock. We arranged the wedding details, communicated back and forth to work through ideas, everything as expected. The day before the wedding, we went back to the area and saw that there was a large metal stage with a wooden floor, and cover in the wedding spot for the next day. We text the Elope Ashville , no immediate reply. Send an email, no reply. Phone call, no answer, left a message. Two hours later they text back and tell us that the stage "shouldn't be a problem, somebody else probably rented it for the weekend" . This confused us. A follow up call was made the next morning to see if the stage had been moved or would be moved. They didn't answer. We continued to get ready for the wedding, stressing out that the stage would be broken down in the middle of our ceremony, wondering what they meant by "probably rented for the weekend" and trying to figure out what else we could to to make smart use of the outside area we thought we had rented out through them. When contact was finally made through one of our friends, the coordinator said "if your bridezilla calls me one more time, I will refund the money and you can just sit in the grass!" We double checked the phone, and those were the only calls made to the event planner about a giant metal stage that was set up in the middle of the area that we wanted to use for our wedding. A reasonable attempt to get in touch with the person who has been paid to handle these types of hiccups. In the end, the stage was not moved, as it's edge came right up to the "rented space" and if we touched it in any way, it would be a liability issue and grounds for legal action. The driver of the car with the bride in it was yelled at by the event coordinator's boyfriend(that's how he introduced himself to us) to "move the fucking car right now" as the bride made her way towards the groom. Prior to the end of the event, the event planner and boyfriend had to excuse themselves due to the high level of stress they were caused and weren't for the reception. But, we were told to leave the area half an hour prior to the time agreed on in the contract. After review of the contract, no end time was included. Their website boasts a full-service stress free event and "All of your wedding arrangements should be handled for you so you can enjoy your wedding day."... despite this not being what happened, the sky was blue, a covenant was made, and a new family was started that day. I read all the positive reviews on here and was really stoked to use this service for our wedding. All went well in the beginning; good communication, fair price-we just wanted something simple, though I do recognize that our guest list was a little larger than immediate family (30). We got to the wedding venue the day before to have a look at the space with the wedding party and a giant stage (I mean the kind with a roof and big steel columns in the corners), was sitting in the spot where we were going to have the ceremony. Naturally I began to panic a little. I texted, sent an email and called to make sure someone in the office would get the message (I don't know which people answer which modes of communication). Two hours later I got this reply: "Hi, we did rent jump off rock so I would assume there will no longer be a stage. I will call them in the morning [day of wedding] to confirm but do Not see cause for concern, I am sure somebody else rented it for the weekend." My Wedding was on a Monday. At that point I handed the issue off to a friend of mine who was coordinating things for me, since of course I wouldn't be there to manage things before the ceremony the day of. The correspondence between Elope Ashville and my coordinator was nothing short of grossly and impressively unprofessional. Amanda referred to me as a "f*cking bridezilla" and threatened to "refund [me] and have the guests sit in the grass". She stated that my contract didn't guarantee a certain space in the park so she couldn't do anything about the stage, despite her having stated to me numerous times that no other official event could be held in the park during the time I had it reserved. The contract guarantees "the rental of Jump Off Rock". I think it was reasonable to assume that my paying hundreds of dollars to reserve the space for my wedding would assure that large structures would not be erected and put in the exact place I told them I wanted to have my ceremony. My coordinator asked if we could at least use the stage to shade the wedding cake and was told that we we were not allowed. I had someone drive me down the road leading up to Jump Off Rock so I could get out and walk down the aisle to get married. Amanda's business partner (don't remember the name) told my friend who drove the car "to move the f*cking car right now". I had a wonderful wedding because I married an amazing man and have amazing friends!!! If you like a choose-your-own-adventure kind of a wedding cermemony and you don't care what kind of large immovable structures pop up in the space where you're supposed to get married and/or you like paying hundreds of dollars to be called profane names and have your closest friends berated, this company is a perfect fit for you!! Otherwise, do yourself a favor and do not use Elope Ashville to help plan what is supposed to be the best day of your life. *note: I am not suing this company. I married my person and I'm moving in with my life - it's just not worth dealing with these people again. I wanted prospective clients to know that this happening is a possibility. You could have a really awesome experience! But you also might get cussed out behind your back on your wedding day and have your guests sit cross-cross-applesauce in the grass during the ceremony... you decide if it's work the risk! They were timely in all communication and made us feel confident that everything was being taken care of, and all we had to do was show up, which is exactly what we wanted. Jon-Paul performed a lovely ceremony, and our photographer (Chris) was kind enough to hang out with us for 45 min while we waited out a thunderstorm. The pictures came out even better than we expected, and were sent just a little over a week after the ceremony, which is a great turn around time. The Elope Asheville team created my dream wedding. My husband and I knew we wanted something small, low key, but most importantly, FUN! We found EA through Google and met with Jon Paul at Fontaine Vineyards to discuss the possibility of planning a wedding together. From the get-go, my husband and I knew we wanted to work with them. They were informed without being pushy, helpful without overstepping and honestly amazing people. Another key thing to note is that I planned this wedding from across the state, using EA as my eyes and ears throughout the process. Amanda, Jon Paul and I exchanged dozens of emails and they were integral in all of our decisions - from flowers to transportation and timing of the day. By the time our wedding weekend arrived, I was happy with EA. By the end of the weekend, I was elated with them. Jon Paul conducted an informative but fun rehearsal (and then stuck around for a beer and barbeque!), Amanda was an amazing photographer/go-to person throughout the whole day and Elisa, our coordinator, did an amazing job at keeping everything in check. We loved working with Elope Asheville! It was easy and relaxed from the beginning. Which is exactly what we wanted out of an elopement. I had wanted one thing, while my partner wanted something else. So I called and talked with Amanda about what we each personally wanted. While my partner was all about getting married in a brewery, I did not want to stand in a dining room type area with everyone looking at me. Amanda was honest about what it is normally like and worked with us to give me a private garden wedding plus a tour of breweries afterwards. Going into the planning, we only had a few things actually in mind. Tattooed rings and as short of a ceremony as possible. Being out of town, we asked for a recommendation for a tattoo parlor. We hadn't been sure when the tattoos would happen exactly but after talking out our plan we decided to do it during our 4 hours with the driver. The last request we had was to not use the terms husband and wife, but life partners. And the ceremony turned out beautiful! The day turned out perfect, relaxed, and fun, just as we had wanted! What an amazing experience. Weather was not on our side for our original ceremony location (Craggy Pinnacle), but Elope Asheville came through with a last minute indoor venue at Addison Farms. If i could give 0 starts I would. I booked Elope Biloxi now Elope Ashville for my wedding. They were supposed to be a complete wedding day planner. When we met with Jon Paul the owner he was supposed to be officiating our wedding and doing all the planning (getting flowers etc.) at that time we also met with a photographer. So we were told it would be $650 which for full service wedding day planning isnt bad....we paid them the deposit and went home. After that I was unable to get in touch with anyone from elope biloxi no phone calls, texts emails nothing. Finally 3 weeks before my wedding in the end of JULY!! So that is 4 months of no responses (should have taken that red flag and ran) I finally get a response that yes they were still planning on marrying us but it would be easier if I got my flowers on my own..so after 4 months I now have 3 weeks to get my flowers. Than on my wedding day we show up and it was no Jon Paul or the photographer who were supposed to be there, come to find out he moved to Ashville and instead of telling us I guess was afraid to lose our deposit he went ahead and hired another officiant and photographer never met her never saw any of her photos nothing...again i was never informed of any of this until i showed up at my ceremony...so whats a girl to do but deal with it. The photographer seemed very inexperienced she sis not pose any one and was very unorganized just kind of walked around and snapped pictures where as the photographer we originally met with and were under the impression would be doing our wedding had very nice pictures and poses all that good stuff and we were told we would get to pick our favorite 150 fully edited photos and get them on a disc with printing rights. NOW after all is said and done and I already paid this guy $650 for wedding planning services and didnt get jack shit basically I am now being told I have to pay another $650 if I want my wedding photos on a CD and the photos are not even that good my maid of honor came up with more pose ideas than the photographer because she got tired of doing the same pose 100 different times!!..so I ask what in the hell did the $650 I already paid you get me?!? It does not cost $650 for an officiant to come out and perform a ceremony or to have a photographer come shoot a ceremony ONLY no reception photos nothing just the ceremony and I get no prints what so ever?? I had a photographer at my reception for half the price and he was amazing, friendly had ideas for photos AND I got every single fully edited photo he took on a flash drive with FULL PRINTING RIGHTS again half the price for a longer period of time, better photos and rights to them. When I asked about this I was told it was a misunderstanding....no misunderstanding here you took my $650 and ran that's what happened! DO NOT HIRE!!!!! read more

My husband and I wanted to elope in Asheville and unfortunately we chose Amanda Berk photography. The location was changed one hour before our ceremony and so we were a half hour late as a result. We expected Amanda to be our photographer but her boyfriend showed up instead. We paid for an hour but since we were late (due to the last minute venue change) the boyfriend photographer only stayed a half hour. It was a cold day and he was rushed as a result. The photo of our hands with our rings was just our hands, which was one of the photos they selected for our included 12 photos. As the bride, I expected to have at least as many solo photos of me as my husband, but only three were taken of me because he was rushed. (My husband had about 15 solos.) We ended up purchasing 12 photos of the 140 taken, some of which were duplicates. I am extremely disappointed all around. I can't even look at my wedding photos without feeling cheated. What a waste of over $1000.00. Amanda, you are an immature and careless businesswoman and you cheated me of decent photos of my wedding day. You charged us a $200 rush fee to have twelve, unattractive photos sent to us. Why would we want to pay a rush fee for a photo of our hand? Perhaps because you knew we would be forced to pay for the few good ones that were actually taken. Shame on you. read more

My husband and I decided to elope to the Asheville area to have a no stress wedding on Valentine's Day, 2016. Although there were serval companies in the area that provide marital services I was looking for a "one stop" kind of experience. After looking at Elope Asheville's site I realized that I could have the same company provide the ceremony, the photographer, cake and flowers for a flat fee. After speaking with the coordinator, Amanda, I quickly realized that they could not provide me with a vegan cake and she recommended Whole Foods as an alternative. So I did end up taking care of my cake and flowers from whole foods as it was less expensive and I appreciated that suggestion. We decided to move forward with Elope Asheville anyway for the wedding ceremony and the photos. Getting set up was easy and communication with Amanda was as well. We did ask at the time of signing up to have our wedding filmed to be able to share the experience with our friends and family and at that time they were searching for a videographer. After checking in about a month prior to the wedding I was still waiting to get ceremony choices from Jon-Paul, the officiant. Once communication began I did receive one ceremony passage to review. At that time we were three weeks away from the wedding and I was a little stressed out that there was only one passage to choose from. For the price I was paying for the ceremony I thought it would have been more personalized than that. My one suggestion for Elope Asheville is to have a phone call consultation prior to the wedding so that the officiant can learn more about the couple, most places in the area offer this service. That way you can get to know your couple prior to the wedding day, how they met, etc. so that you can send passages that relate to each couple's beliefs or love story. After saying something to Amanda she did send alternate passages and that was helpful however since every couple is unique it should have been that way from the start. Days before the wedding I still had not heard back from Amanda concerning a videographer to film the ceremony. She decided to film it her herself by bringing in an extra hand to film while she took pictures. We knew it was an experiment as it was the first time they were trying this but it was better than not having any memory of our wedding. We were thankful for the offer. The day of the wedding it was so cold, freezing actually. The team: John-Paul, Amanda, and Amanda's boyfriend (the videographer) were all so nice. Amanda has an amazing bubbly presence that calmed my nerves immediately. We decided to have the ceremony outside because the mountain views and surrounding area was too beautiful to pass up. They gave us hand warmers to hold during the ceremony and the team was so professional. After the ceremony we took pictures with breaks in between to escape the frigid weather and Jon-Paul and Amanda's boyfriend kept filming to have enough footage to make us a nice wedding video and that was so appreciated. Overall it was a great experience and if I had to go back and do it again I would still hire Elope Asheville to be apart of my big day. I know they are in the process of adding more services to their business like hair and make-up, a personal chef, videography, and more. That will make what they do as a company that more unique and personalized. A big thanks to Elope Asheville for making a our cold ceremony a bright and happy memory. read more
