The wait was about 10 minutes to get my xrays done then I was taken to room for gum exam, then a 5 min wait to see Dr Patel (who was super friendly and helpful) then the benefits coordinator came in and allowed me to pay and schedule my next appointment in the room. Finally a short wait to see the hygienist (thorough, quick, friendly) who performed my cleaning and fluoride treatment. Overall I felt great about the experience. The proximity to my house and the overall organization and professionalism will bring me back here in six months for my next checkup.

I went to see Dr Malik, at Castle Dental in Pearland, TX for a consultation for an implant. She needed to build up bone in 3 different places. She also said if I want to do it now, she has the time. I decided that I needed to just do it and get it over with. Dr Malik has a lot of concern and compassion for her patients. My blood pressure was up (most likely because I was nervous), so she told me to go have something to eat and try to relax. It was fine when I came back and she was ready for me. Dr Malik and her assistant, Mary, were very professional and great at keeping me calm and comfortable. They did a lot of work and never once said a word about how much I needed done or haw long it took. I was there for a total of 5 hours and no one made me feel uncomfortable in any way. The ladies at the front desk were welcoming and friendly. Dr Malik was kind, patient and very genuine. I would not hesitate to se her again.

Dr. Moon is extremely patient even when I'm acting like a big baby. The lady who does the teeth cleaning is very motherly and puts forth a lot of effort to make it as painless as possible. The biggest issue was being charged nearly double the amount on my card before anyone properly explained the cost. Only afterward did they come back asking for my signature and saying, "Sorry for the miscommunication." That wasn't miscommunication -- it was omission. The staff also tended to overtalk and use explanations or scenarios that didn't really make sense instead of being direct and transparent. I've never felt more like I was part of a business transaction than a patient coming in for a cleaning. The dentist herself was great, which makes this disappointing, but the business side of the office is unbearable. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit.

Also, my blood pressure read 160/125 during triage, which at that stage an ambulance should have been called. Clearly it was inaccurate as I've never had any hypertension concerns in my medical history. Essence was great and a very personable hygienist. I expected that kind of warmth from Dr. Dike, but unfortunately that was not my experience. My daughter was able to get her routine cleaning with no issues despite receiving other treatment recommendations (which we also declined today) from the team she was serviced by. Ultimately, the lack of consistency is a red flag for me as a patient and I would not recommend this location or any other location to new patients. I feel like my time was wasted and a copay was collected to play in my mouth.
