I didn't buy this, but such beautiful color.

I've been a customer here for many years. Elwood has a great selection of plants & the best service anywhere. They know everything about everything botanical. Upon entering the nursery you'll be greeted by a couple of friendly dogs, always a delight. If you buy potted plants, they will be placed in cartons & loaded into your car for you. Elwood also carries a nice variety of seeds, bulbs, and gardening supplies & equipment. Parking is never an issue - they have a private lot & you can also park free on the street in front. Never crowded. Today I bought bearded iris, poppies & ranunculus, all in gorgeous colors. "Spring has sprung The grass is ris I wonder where the flowers is" In my back yard, that's where. Happy Spring.

    Cute shop dogs.

We went for a Sunday drive and ended up at the Elwood Nursery. They had a solid selection of standard local zone 9 plants, indoor plants (including Chartreuse colored Pothos that we've been wanting) and some more rare finds mixed in like this vibrant cactus. We were also able to pick up cactus food, and I saw that they have organic botanical soaps in case we ever need it in the future for another whitefly battle). The atmosphere is really peaceful and that matters to me. It was a pleasure to walk through the aisles and see the variety of colors. It wasn't crowded (2pm on a Sunday) and we had a beautiful time visiting.

Cute and colorful at the checkout

Came to pick up a plant and a nice pot as a gift. The best part are the shop dogs which are adorable. The entire nursery is nice and covered with an indoor component. There is a pretty good selection of various pots and they will help you pot it if you pay for the soil. This nursery has been there since I was a kid. Glad to see it still in business.

Silver peperomia and neon pothos !

Meh. Expensive yet full of mealy bugs. Owner rude and condescending. Pass. Too bad because it's lovely and the dogs are cute.

Well, I live in a condo complex and I am on the HOA board... hopefully not one of those annoying board members people stereotypically think about. We needed two intrusive trees on our property removed... one of these trees was huge... the top crested over the 2nd story of our complex and the other one was just ugly. Plantasia was hired by our management company.... and they removed the trees FAST!!! By fast, I mean, 830AM they were there... by 330pm they were done. Bravo... super professional. Now here's the guts of the story. I had washed my car earlier that morning... by hand, of course... waxed and everything... and then parked on the street. I went to lunch and came back and noticed that they had parked the refuse truck right next to my car... also blocking the street (it's a narrow one). Immediately I was worried... and those worries were confirmed: there was scratches on the hood of my newly washed black car... the workers has scuffed the hood while moving branches into the truck. I was pissed... and I asked the workers to move the truck into the alley... which was closer to the tree anyways and so it wouldn't block traffic. I called Plantasia and Kris there asked for my information and to send her a photo of the damage. 24 hour later, they came back to me and told me they'd pay for the detailing of my car for free. To make a long story short, they were very professional about removing a tree... and supremely professional about fixing something beyond their normal scope. When our complex needs more yard work done, I will definitely be letting our management company know that we'd prefer to use Plantasia... they're professional, and fast.

Grab a wagon and load up because you won't know when to stop with some many great plants, deals on supplies and their inviting layout. As a small chain of garden centers meets plant nurseries I have to say this location stands out. Their online shop is easy also with get learning materials, newsletters , resources and even a plant library. I'll never forget my first trip here with my friend Sam, definitely need to hit her up again for a plant day, but absolutely still enjoy coming here with others and of course solo for some planty self-care. Adding some Elephant Bush (Portulacaria afra) friends to the plant family at home. Absolutely and 818/SFV/LA Valley favorite among many. You'll want to get lost between the many areas the have here and in the main area as well as their extended open air garden on the parking lot side. Staff here is very personable and extremely knowledgeable. From lawn and outdoor patio furniture or fixtures, fountains, decorations and plant care musts, GTN has a bit of it all. Even fun seasonal items and sales. Entrance in back, where you'll also find their parking lot, fairly spacious, but it can and does fill up on weekends. Restroom available for customers.

He was extremely knowledgeable about the plants and trees, patiently answered every question we had, and never made us feel rushed. We were truly grateful for his help and left feeling very pleased with the service we received at the nursery itself. He provided excellent customer service and made our initial experience a very positive one. Unfortunately, our experience with the delivery was quite different. We paid an additional fee close to $100 dollars to have our trees delivered to our home, and the interaction with the owner, who handled the delivery, was disappointing. He had difficulty finding our home, arrived late, and at one point was across the street repeatedly honking his truck horn in frustration, loud enough that the neighborhood could hear. Once he arrived and began unloading, several of the trees had already fallen over. I politely asked if he would be willing to place them in a specific area on our property, approximately 20 feet from where his truck was parked. He refused and responded with what I felt was an unnecessarily negative attitude, telling me that if I didn't like it, he could take the trees back and refund our money. I didn't want the situation to escalate, so despite having paid for delivery, we simply accepted having the trees left where he chose to place them. There was no friendly handshake and thank you for your business. He just left with a bad attitude (40 items in total.) tree and shrubs. I completely understand that everyone can have a bad day or a difficult morning. We are all human. However, when that frustration spills over into the way paying customers are treated, I don't believe that reflects good customer service or good business practice. I want to be fair in saying that Amigos Nursery appears to be a great place to purchase plants and trees, and our experience with the gentleman who helped us at the nursery was truly excellent. Unfortunately, our interaction with the owner during the delivery left us feeling disappointed and took away from what had otherwise been such a positive experience.
